Abstract

This study aims to explore students' views on the integration of edutainment in Arabic language learning at Islamic colleges, specifically at UIN Walisongo Semarang. Using a qualitative approach, this study collected data through in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and observations, and applied triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model—covering reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing—to obtain a systematic understanding of student perceptions. Findings indicate that edutainment is implemented through three main strategies: interactive digital media, Islamic-context role-play, and the integration of arts such as songs and calligraphy. This approach successfully increased students' interest, confidence, and affection for Arabic, while reducing learning anxiety and creating an inclusive and enjoyable classroom atmosphere. The majority of students responded positively because this method was considered to facilitate understanding and reduce boredom, although some provided critical feedback to ensure that academic aspects were maintained, while a minority were sceptical about its effectiveness in mastering advanced grammar. The main challenges include resistance to a learning style that is considered too relaxed and technical constraints in the use of digital applications. The success of edutainment, therefore, depends heavily on balanced learning design, lecturer responsiveness, and adequate technological infrastructure support.

Abstract

This article aims to interpret the hadith, “Allah swt. does not look at your appearance or your wealth, but rather at your heart and your deeds,” through Hans-Georg Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutic approach. This approach emphasizes the importance of dialogue between the historical context of the hadith (the horizon of the text) and the social reality of modern readers (the horizon of the reader) as a dynamic process of understanding. This study employs a qualitative library-based method with a descriptive-hermeneutic analysis technique. The hadith is examined within its historical and social context, then brought into dialogue with the contemporary phenomenon of beauty privilege in the digital era. The results show that the message of the hadith remains relevant in critiquing the visual and materialistic culture that values individuals based on physical appearance and economic status. The deeper meaning of the hadith affirms that human worth is determined by sincerity of heart and righteous deeds, not by appearance or wealth. Gadamer’s hermeneutical approach enables this hadith to remain alive, relevant, and transformative within modern socio-religious discourse.

Abstract

This study examines the Islamic Green School concept as a branding strategy for Islamic schools based on Islamic moderation and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The global environmental crisis demands that Islamic education not only focus on rituals and memorization but also instill ecological awareness as an integral part of Islamic values. Through a qualitative approach based on literature review, this research analyzes institutional branding strategies, implementation challenges, and the contribution of Islamic Green Schools to achieving the SDGs, particularly SDGs 4, 12, 13, and 15. The findings reveal that Islamic Green Schools can integrate the values of khalifah fil ardh with sustainable educational practices through three main strategies: strengthening universal Islamic values and sustainability, curriculum innovation based on ecology, and model scalability through sharia and SDG collaboration. However, implementation faces challenges, including low SDG literacy, curriculum fragmentation, limited resources, and ideological resistance. This study recommends strengthening teacher capacity, government policy support, and developing data-based monitoring systems to reinforce authentic and sustainable branding

Abstract

The digital era has significantly transformed the face of Islamic da’wah, particularly in its interaction with Millennials and Gen Z in Indonesia. Social media has become a new arena for spreading religious messages, packaged in a visual, concise, and emotional manner. This study aims to analyze how the framing of Islamic da’wah on social media is constructed and perceived by the younger generation, as well as its impact on the substance of Islamic religious education. The method used is library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach, analyzed critically through framing theory (Entman, Pan & Kosicki), the theory of the mediatization of religion, and socio-religious studies in digital society. The findings indicate that social media framing tends to encourage a populist and lightweight style of da’wah, which shifts the focus of religious education from deep value cultivation to instant spiritual consumption. Meanwhile, Millennials and Gen Z respond positively to this approach as it is considered more communicative and relevant to their digital lifestyle, although it carries the risk of reducing the depth of religious understanding. This study recommends the need for a more critical, reflective, and balanced approach to da’wah—between form and substance—so that Islamic religious education continues to play its role in shaping holistic religious character amid the currents of digital globalization.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had a significant impact across various fields, including education. One of its potential applications lies in the development of teaching modules aligned with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to describe the implementation of AI in the process of designing and developing teaching modules at SMA Bina Insan Palu. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis of teaching modules, and were then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and thematic conclusion-drawing techniques. The findings reveal that the use of AI supports teachers in creating more creative, interactive, and contextual learning materials. Moreover, AI facilitates the development of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) relevant to the Pancasila Student Profile and enables the application of varied and adaptive assessments through AI-based questions and interactive quizzes. AI also contributes to enhancing teachers' creativity in designing digital learning media while saving time in preparing teaching modules. However, teachers' limited digital literacy and the need for intensive training remain major challenges in optimizing AI implementation. The study concludes that AI serves as a pedagogical partner in the development of teaching modules, supporting rather than replacing the role of teachers. To ensure AI utilization is aligned with the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum, strategic efforts are needed in the form of improving digital literacy, providing intensive training for educators, and ensuring adequate technological infrastructure

Abstract

The development of digital technology encourages schools to adjust their learning strategies, including enhancing students' digital literacy and reading interest. This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital literacy and its relation to students' reading interest in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMA Bina Insan Palu. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, collecting data through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of learning activities. The findings indicate that students' digital literacy levels fall into a fairly good category, yet they still require specific guidance in aspects such as source verification, proper citation, and understanding of digital ethics. Reading interest tends to increase when students are provided with interactive digital reading materials, Pancasila Student Profile (P5) projects, and authentic assessments in the form of reflections or short reviews. The main challenges faced include limited access to devices, fluctuating network quality, and a lack of curated reading materials suitable for students' proficiency levels. The discussion highlights that interventions such as tiered digital reading curation, daily reading routines, authentic assessments, and technical support (devices and internet connections) are practical strategies to improve both digital literacy and students' reading interest. The study concludes that the success of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation at SMA Bina Insan Palu is strongly determined by teachers' readiness, institutional support, and the provision of adequate digital infrastructure

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has created significant changes in the global economy, particularly in digital trade systems known as e-commerce. One of the latest innovations in this field is affiliate marketing, a model that allows third parties to earn commissions through online sales promotions. This study aims to analyze the legal status of affiliate business practices from the perspective of Islamic law. Using a normative juridical or library research method, the study examines primary and secondary legal materials related to contract law and Islamic economic principles. The findings reveal that affiliate business transactions are permissible (mubah) in Islam as long as they comply with the principles of justice, transparency, and the avoidance of prohibited elements such as riba, gharar, and maysir. Conceptually, affiliate marketing corresponds to the contract of wakalah bil ujrah, which involves an agency agreement with compensation for services rendered. Therefore, affiliate marketing can be categorized as a lawful business model in Islamic economic law, provided that its implementation adheres to sharia principles and ethical standards in digital transactions.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a widespread practice in Indonesia, particularly in Kalipuro District, Banyuwangi, driven by economic factors, culture, and diverse religious interpretations. This study aims to analyze early marriage from the perspective of Islamic law and state law, and evaluate its impact on the physical, psychological, and social development of children. The research employs a normative legal method with conceptual and case approaches, analyzing primary sources including the Quran, hadith, scholarly consensus, fatwas from Islamic institutions, and Indonesian legislation through library research. The findings reveal that Islamic law does not explicitly stipulate a minimum marriageable age but emphasizes physical, emotional, and mental readiness, while state law, through Law No. 16 of 2019, establishes a minimum age of 19 years for both parties. Early marriage in Kalipuro occurs due to economic limitations, promiscuity, and limited knowledge, resulting in financial and emotional neglect of children, reproductive health problems, educational barriers, and suboptimal parenting patterns. The implementation of state law faces challenges in communities that still view early marriage as a solution to social problems, necessitating intensive public education and strict supervision to protect children's rights and the welfare of future generations.

Abstract

The demands of 21st-century education require a paradigm shift in learning that goes beyond the mere transfer of knowledge toward the development of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills. At the same time, the education system is expected to embody the principle of inclusivity to ensure that every learner has equal access to meaningful learning opportunities. This article aims to analyze the relevance and potential of deep learning pedagogy as an adaptive approach to support inclusive education in the 21st century. The study employed a library research method by reviewing academic literature, including books, reputable journal articles, and both national and international policy documents. The findings indicate that deep learning pedagogy emphasizes conceptual understanding, higher-order thinking, and active student participation, aligning with the demands of 21st-century competencies. Moreover, integrating deep learning with inclusivity principles allows diverse learners, including those with special needs, to engage actively through project-based, collaborative, and digital learning strategies. Nevertheless, the implementation in Indonesia faces several challenges, such as teachers’ readiness, limited facilities, and the dominance of teacher-centered practices. The article concludes that deep learning pedagogy offers a transformative solution for enhancing both quality and equity in education, while further empirical research is required to test its implementation in various educational contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how the role of parents contributes to supporting the growth and mental readiness of children as part of efforts to shape the golden generation of 2045, particularly in Sipogu Village, Arse District. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach, employing in-depth interviews and observations with parents as well as local community leaders. The results of the study indicate that the role of parents is very important in creating an environment that supports the physical, emotional, and intellectual development of children. Forms of support are reflected in the attention given, moral guidance, discipline formation, as well as involvement in both formal and non-formal education. However, there are several challenges still faced, such as parents' limited knowledge about proper parenting patterns and minimal access to information. Therefore, collaboration between families, schools, and the government is a key factor in strengthening the role of parents to prepare children who are resilient, intelligent, and competitive in order to realize the Golden Indonesia 2045.
