Abstract

This study aims to determine the estimated reserves of lateritic nickel ore and to define the open pit mining boundary based on the obtained estimation results at Block III Batuawu, PT. Tambang Bumi Sulawesi. The reserve estimation was carried out using the Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) method in Surpac 6.3 software by utilizing drilling data including assay, collar, geology, and survey data. The research stages consisted of database processing, ore body block modeling, application of Cut Off Grade (COG), and open pit design. The results show that the total resource is 1,369,191 tons with an average grade of 1.03% Ni and 31.56% Fe. After applying a COG of 1.3%, an extractable reserve of 404,771 tons was obtained with an average grade of 1.52% Ni and 21.55% Fe. Based on these results, an open pit design was developed with geotechnical parameters of 6 m bench height, 3 m bench width, and 55° slope angle, covering an area of 9.81 Ha with elevation ranges of 38.4–124.4 m. The required overburden removal is 964,421 tons with a stripping ratio of 1.6 : 1, indicating economically feasible mining conditions.

Abstract

Medium-scale mining in Indonesia faces challenges in the digital era, making digital transformation and smart mining essential. This study at PT. Tambang Bumi Sulawesi aims to assess digital readiness, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate strategies toward smart mining. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature review, then analyzed using the Digital Readiness Assessment and the Digital Maturity Model (DMM) with both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The findings indicate that PT. Tambang Bumi Sulawesi is at a Moderate level (Emerging–Defined) of digital readiness. Its main strengths include digital record-keeping, data storage systems, and management support, while weaknesses lie in limited infrastructure, low digital literacy among employees, minimal IoT utilization, and the absence of a digital roadmap. Recommendations include strengthening infrastructure, improving human resource competencies, developing a long-term digital strategy, and optimizing ERP and big data to achieve sustainable smart mining.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengupasan lapisan penutup merupakan tahapan penting dalam penambangan atubara karena Berpengaruh langsung terhadap pencapaian target produksi. Produktivitas alat gali muat dan alat angkut menjadi indikator utama dalam menilai efektivitas kinerja operasi penambangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis produktivitas alat gali muat dan alat angkut pada kegiatan pengupasan overburden di Pit Pelikan South Extension Fleet EX768 PT. Pamapersada Nusantara Distrik KPCS, Kabupaten Kutai Timur, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Kajian teori yang digunakan meliputi konsep produktivitas alat mekanis, waktu siklus , efisiensi kerja, faktor pembengkakan, faktor pengisian , serta keserasian alat kerja (faktor kesesuaian). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan dan studi literatur, dengan data primer berupa waktu siklus alat gali muat dan alat angkut, efisiensi kerja, faktor pengisian , serta data hambatan waktu, sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari laporan perusahaan dan referensi pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu siklus alat gali muat sebesar 0,56 menit dan waktu siklus alat angkut sebesar 6,3 menit. Nilai efisiensi kerja alat gali muat sebesar 80% dan alat angkut sebesar 75%, dengan swell factor 0,85 dan fill factor 1,1. Berdasarkan parameter tersebut, diperoleh produktivitas alat gali muat dan alat angkut sebesar 1.122 bcm/jam. Nilai match factor sebesar 1,07 menunjukkan bahwa keserasian kerja alat berada pada kondisi cukup optimal.

Abstract

Blasting is an important stage in open-pit mining aimed at breaking rock material to facilitate excavation and loading processes. Fragmentation quality is influenced by blasting design parameters, particularly the depth and diameter of blast holes. This study used drilling geometry data, blasting geometry, explosive consumption, and fragmentation results analyzed using Split Desktop software to determine the effect of variations in blast hole depth and diameter on fragmentation distribution. The results showed that greater blast hole depth produces finer fragmentation due to increased blasting energy. Larger blast hole diameters also increase explosive loading capacity, resulting in more evenly distributed blasting energy. The proper combination of blast hole depth and diameter produces optimal fragmentation in accordance with company operational standards.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of nickel selling price and nickel matte production on the stock value of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period. The data used are secondary data consisting of global nickel prices, nickel matte production volume, and PT Vale stock prices obtained from company annual reports and market publications. The analytical methods applied are simple linear regression and Pearson correlation tests. The results indicate that the nickel selling price significantly affected the stock value in 2020, 2021, and 2023 with a very strong correlation (r > 0.90), while in 2022 and 2024 the effect was not significant. On the other hand, nickel matte production did not significantly influence the stock value during the research period, showing weak correlation values. This study concludes that global nickel prices are the dominant fundamental factor influencing PT Vale’s stock movement, while nickel matte production is not a primary determinant for investors.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of holding time in the Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) process on the mechanical properties of ST42 steel that has undergone welding using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) method. The main focus of the study is the correlation between variations in heat holding time at a certain temperature and changes in hardness and toughness.The method used is an experiment with variations in holding time, followed by rapid cooling to maintain microstructural homogeneity. Hardness testing is conducted using Vickers or Rockwell methods, while toughness is analyzed through bending/impact tests depending on the appropriate method. The microstructure is examined to check for changes in the fractions of ferrite and pearlite, as well as grain size influenced by heat retention.In conclusion, the holding time during PWHT has a significant effect on the hardness and toughness of ST-42 steel. Adjusting the duration of the heat hold can be used as a control variable to optimize the mechanical properties of the weld, balancing strength and crack resistance according to the needs of engineering applications.
