Abstract

Public understanding of skin diseases in cattle is still low. Many people still rely on manual expertise from experts. So the costs borne by the community are quite expensive and in terms of time it is also less efficient. This consultation media is an application of a computer-based Expert System that uses facts and reasoning techniques to solve problems that usually can only be solved by an expert in a particular field. Expert systems provide added value to technology to help in dealing with an increasingly sophisticated information era. This Expert System application produces output in the form ofan application program or tool that can be used to diagnose possible skin diseases in cattle based on the symptoms input by the user. This system also displays the level of confidence of these symptoms in skin diseases entered by the user. The magnitude of the trust value is the result of calculations using the probability method. System testing shows that the system is able to diagnose cowhide disease based on the symptoms suffered by the patient even though these symptoms contain uncertainty. The diagnosis results are accompanied by a Certainty Factor value which shows the level of truth and accuracy of possible skin diseases in cattle.

Abstract

This study aims to design an automated fuel transfer and separation system using Siemens PLC onthe MV. XYZ vessel, integrate it with the existing ship management system, and identify keyparameters that need to be monitored and controlled within the system. The research methodsinclude experimentation and system simulation, observation, interviews, and documentation. Theanalysis is conducted by comparing the conditions before and after the implementation of theautomation system. The results indicate that the automated system enables fuel processing from thestorage tank to the settling tank over 24 hours, followed by transfer to the service tank every 8hours automatically. The system utilizes high and low-level sensors as inputs to control outputssuch as pumps, separators, valves, and heaters. The system interface is designed to separate eachsubsystem—transfer, separation, and circulation—while remaining fully integrated, allowing crewmembers to monitor the entire process efficiently. This system has proven to enhance the efficiencyand reliability of fuel management on board.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the magnitude of cutting forces, describe and identify the reactionforces on the base (bed) of a lathe machine, and to find the relationship between depth of cut andthe reaction forces on the machine bed resulting from the distribution of cutting forces during theturning process. The experiment was carried out by turning a concrete iron rod (low carbon steel)with a diameter of 25 mm. The turning process was conducted by varying the depth of cut from0.125 mm to 0.625 mm (with 0.125 mm intervals), spindle speeds of 85, 180, 540, and 800 rpm, andfeed rates of 0.1 mm/rev and 0.2 mm/rev. The analysis of the cutting force distribution on themachine bed resulted in the identification of reaction forces and torque moments.The results showthat an increase in cutting depth leads to an increase in cutting force, which in turn increases thereaction forces and torque moments on the bed of the machine due to the distribution of cuttingforces. The components of the cutting force are as follows: tangential force = 72–81%, longitudinal(axial) force = 55–60%, and radial force = 27–31% of the total cutting force.The reaction forcesacting on the machine bed include forces distributed along the bed, which are equivalent to thelongitudinal (axial) force component, and downward forces acting on the middle part of the bed.Torque moments occur at both ends of the bed, specifically under the headstock and tailstock (inthe clockwise direction). Abstract

Efficient drilling and blasting operations are critical for optimizing productivity in surface mining.This study investigates the actual drilling cycle time and explosive application parameters in PT MaleaEnergy, which applies a Wedge Cut (V-Cut) pattern. Field data were collected on drilling time, rodlifting, positioning, and the use of Power Gel explosives and delay detonators. The actual drillingpenetration rate was 1.41 m/min with an effective working time of 520 minutes per shift. A total of 15explosive cartridges per hole and delay times between 0–3500 ms were applied. Results indicate thatdrilling efficiency is significantly influenced not only by cycle time management but also by explosivedelay configuration. This study provides a quantitative evaluation that bridges the gap between fieldoperation parameters and theoretical efficiency models. The findings are valuable for improving drill-blast design and time utilization in mid-scale mining operations

Abstract

The purpose of the research is the Savonius type Z wind turbine equipped with a deflector to obtain the effect of the deflector angle on the torque, power and efficiency of the turbine. This study used an experiment on a prototype of a Savonius wind turbine type Z equipped with a deflector and used a wind tunnel with a variation in the number of blades of 30º, 45º, and 60º. The research was conducted with a constant wind speed of 5.33 m/s. Maximum torque of 0.47 Nm, and rotation of 0 rpm, with a load of 16 kg, deflector angle of 60º. While the maximum power is 0.98 Watts, at 35.4 rpm, with a load of 9 kg, deflector angle 60º. And Maximum efficiency of 14.10 %, at 35.4 rpm revolution, with a load of 9 kg, at a deflector angle of 60º.

Abstract

PT. Format Teknik Mandiri is a private company operating in the mining sector which has a work contract in Subaim Village, Wasile Sub-district, East Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province. Mining is carried out using an open mining system (Surface Mining) using the Open Cut Mining method, namely cutting from the ridge downwards. To create a mining activity that is sustainable, efficient and profitable, it is necessary to pay attention to every aspect that influences operational costs during mining. Controlling operating costs carried out regularly will make it easier for company management to control production costs for each mining/production activity so that expenses can be reduced to a minimum and can produce maximum profits. The aim of this research is to determine the production capabilities of mechanical equipment, analyze the costs that must be incurred by the company for ore getting activities. After conducting research, the author obtained a production volume of loading equipment of 3,844 m3 per day and production of transportation equipment for 3 Shacman F3000 units of 5,426 m3 per day with a total cost for 30 days (target time) the costs incurred were Rp. 738,061,200p.

Abstract

Bidikmisi Scholarship is a financial aid program aimed at economically disadvantaged students with strong academic performance. The selection process for recipients of this scholarship often faces challenges, particularly in determining the eligibility of candidates, which requires numerous criteria and complex data analysis. This study aims to develop a scholarship selection system using the C4.5 algorithm. It is expected that this algorithm can automate and expedite the selection process with more transparent and objective results. The dataset used includes applicants for the Bidikmisi scholarship from 2015 to 2020. The methods applied include oversampling and undersampling techniques to address class imbalance in the data. Based on testing, this system achieved an accuracy of 76%, with a precision of 76% and recall of 71%, indicating that the system can be relied upon for the scholarship selection process at STMIK Agamua Wamena.

Abstract

Loading and transporting overburden is one of the activities carried out in nickel mining by moving overburden from the mining front to the disposal site. Research Objectives: 1) Determine the efficiency of loading and transporting equipment in loading and transporting overburden. 2) The production capacity of loading and transporting equipment used in loading and transporting overburden. 3) The compatibility factor between loading and transporting equipment used in loading and transporting overburden. The methods used in this study were interviews and observation. The interview method was conducted with people in the company area regarding data to be collected at the company itself. Then, the observation method involved directly observing the data to be collected at the company. The results achieved in this study are the work efficiency value for loading equipment is 83% and for transport equipment is 83%, the production of 1 unit of loading equipment is 37,788.16 Bcm/month and 4 units of transport equipment is 37,333.6 Bcm/month so that it has met the target, the work harmony factor of loading equipment and transport equipment is 0.98 so that MF<1, which means that the transport equipment is working fully and the loading equipment still has waiting time. It is necessary to add transport equipment so that the loading equipment does not have waiting time.

Abstract

Sinar Cikoang Gemilang Edifice is a company engaged in the mining sector, especially in nickel ore mine located in the village of buleleng Regency of morowali kecamatan bungku coastal province of Central Sulawesi. IUP Pt. SCG. PT. Sinar Cikoang Gemilang (SCG) is one of the laterite nickel mining company using the system of open mining (surface mining). Levels of supervision will be conducted strictly by Quality Control both from the front of the mine until the placement of ore in the area of the Stock Pile and continuously perform the taking of the sample to control grade and do blending ore with appropriate methods so that the desired levels can be achieved. The order of the mining activities in PT. Sinar Cikoang Gemilang includes disassembly, loading and hauling. PT. Sinar Cikoang Gemilang provides various mechanical tools in helping the forefront, such as gali transport tools, tools, fit and support. In conducting the activities of the mining of nickel ore (ore) is done by using the tool fit excavator and ore minerals results material loaded into dump trucks brought to the dom/stockpile. Research issues do occur between the mining front levels and stockpile as well as causative factor of difference. The purpose of the study to find out how large the difference levels and cause factor levels of distinction. To get the desired data will then be carried out observation/observation methods where the author will engage directly with activities on the spot. As for the results of the data mining in the production is a dom2:1.85, dom 3:1.76 and realization in the stockpile is dom 2:1.83, dom 3:1.79 and distortion levels to dom 2 amounted to 1.08% and 1.7% of dom 3. From the observations, then retrieved the factors cause decline tonage and decreased levels of among others the following: The skills of the operator when taking ore getting and mixing, Thoroughness in sampling, Tertukarnya sample preparation of work time, Doping and lost when the ore mining.
