Ikhbar: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi berfokus pada kajian ilmiah interdisipliner mengenai Dakwah Islam dan Komunikasi. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menjadi platform bagi akademisi, peneliti, praktisi, dan mahasiswa untuk mempublikasikan hasil penelitian orisinal, artikel konseptual, dan tinjauan pustaka yang inovatif dan relevan dengan perkembangan terkini di kedua bidang tersebut, baik dalam konteam domestik maupun global. Interfaith dialogue plays a crucial role in promoting understanding, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence in pluralistic societies. However, these dialogue efforts are often hampered by various barriers to interfaith communication. This article aims to identify and analyze these barriers, including theological differences, cognitive biases and stereotypes, identity politics, and a lack of religious education and literacy. Using a qualitative approach and extensive literature review, this research highlights how these factors inherently influence the dynamics of dialogue and hinder the achievement of shared goals. The author argues that a deeper understanding of these barriers is an essential first step in formulating more effective dialogue strategies, based on the principles of mutual respect, empathy, and a willingness to listen. These findings are expected to contribute to dialogue practitioners, academics, and policymakers in facilitating more constructive and sustainable interfaith communication.

This abstract summarizes the essence of the research, including the objectives, methods, main findings, and conclusions. The focus is on how Nurcholish Madjid (Cak Nur) and Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) interpret and apply the concept of da'wah rahmatan lil 'alamin (mercy for the universe). This research aims to analyze the similarities and differences in the thinking of these two figures, as well as their implications for da'wah practices in Indonesia. Using a qualitative-comparative approach, this article shows that although both adhere to an inclusive and moderate vision of Islam, there are nuances in the emphasis and implementation of the concept of rahmatan lil 'alamin in the context of pluralism and modernity. Cak Nur focuses on rationality and the demythologization of religion, while Gus Dur emphasizes humanism and the indigenization of Islam. These findings contribute to a richer understanding of modern Islamic discourse in Indonesia and its relevance for strengthening harmonious coexistence.

Artikel ini menganalisis kompleksitas narasi Islam di ruang publik Indonesia, menyoroti kontestasi makna yang melekat dalam representasi dan interpretasi ajaran Islam oleh berbagai aktor. Dengan maraknya media digital dan platform komunikasi, ruang publik telah menjadi arena krusial bagi konstruksi, penyebaran, dan negosiasi narasi keagamaan. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana berbagai kelompok Muslim, dari moderat hingga konservatif, menggunakan beragam strategi komunikasi untuk memengaruhi pemahaman publik tentang Islam. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan riset pustaka, artikel ini mengidentifikasi pola-pola kunci dalam kontestasi narasi, termasuk polarisasi diskursif, penggunaan simbol-simbol keagamaan, dan adaptasi terhadap dinamika media baru. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa narasi Islam di ruang publik bukan sekadar refleksi keimanan, tetapi juga instrumen politik dan sosial yang membentuk identitas kolektif dan kohesi komunitas. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya literasi media dan dialog antarkelompok untuk mendorong pemahaman yang lebih inklusif dan memitigasi potensi fragmentasi sosial akibat kontestasi narasi yang intens.

This study examines the effects of Quran memorization (tahfidz) on the cognitive development and academic performance of children. A case study was conducted at Rumah Tahfidz Cahaya Surya Sumedang, involving 25 children aged 7.2 years on average, who have been memorizing the Quran for approximately 12 months. The research employed both cognitive tests and academic assessments before and after the tahfidz program to measure the impact on memory, concentration, and academic achievement. The results indicated a significant improvement in short-term memory, verbal recall, and concentration, with a 15% increase in cognitive test scores. Furthermore, 70% of the participants showed an improvement in their academic performance, particularly in subjects requiring high concentration, such as mathematics and language studies. The findings suggest that Quran memorization contributes not only to spiritual development but also to cognitive and academic growth in children.

This article examines the paradigm shift in da'wah (Islamic preaching) from conventional pulpit-based methods to strategic adaptations within the contemporary media landscape. Developments in information and communication technology have created new spaces for the dissemination of religious messages, requiring preachers to innovate in their approaches, formats, and audience reach. Using qualitative literature research methods, this study analyzes various digital media platforms—from social media and video platforms to podcasts—as modern da'wah media. The results show that this transformation involves not only technical changes in delivery but also a restructuring of narratives, interactions, and the formation of virtual communities. Challenges such as disinformation, polarization, and limitations in digital ethics are also discussed. This article concludes that adapting da'wah to contemporary media is not merely an option but a necessity to maintain the relevance and effectiveness of religious messages in the digital age.

This research explores the reconstruction of dawah narratives that are supportive of trauma survivors through the lens of empathetic communication. Traditionally, dawah narratives have often been confined to normative, textual approaches that sometimes trigger stigmatization or spiritual bypassing for individuals experiencing profound trauma. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review, this study formulates an inclusive dawah model that prioritizes emotional validation and safe spaces. The results indicate that empathetic communication in dawah is not merely rhetoric but involves active listening techniques and the use of non-judgmental diction. Inclusive dawah for trauma survivors must integrate the values of compassion (rahmah) with the principles of trauma psychology so that religious messages can serve as a means of healing (shifa) rather than an additional burden.

In the digital era, religious authority has undergone a significant shift from physical pulpits in mosques to "algorithmic pulpits" on social media. This study aims to analyze how content personalization mechanisms and filter bubbles affect perceptions of religious moderation among users. Social media algorithms are designed to maximize engagement by presenting content tailored to user preferences, inadvertently creating echo chambers. Using a qualitative method with a literature review and critical discourse analysis approach, this research explores the psychological and sociological impacts of this automated content curation. The results indicate that algorithms tend to reinforce confirmation bias, where users are exposed only to religious narratives that validate their pre-existing views, while isolating them from divergent perspectives (the religious other). This potential erodes the values of religious moderation (wasathiyah), which emphasizes balance and tolerance, and fosters polarization and extremism based on decontextualized texts. The study concludes that algorithmic literacy is essential as part of religious literacy, preventing believers from being trapped in blind fanaticism constructed by machines.

The evolution of Web 3.0 technology has birthed the Metaverse, an immersive digital reality blurring the lines between the physical and the virtual. This phenomenon presents both new challenges and opportunities for dawah activities and religious practices. This study aims to analyze how sacred space is reconstructed within the Metaverse environment and how it affects the religious experience of users (avatars). Using a qualitative method with a digital phenomenology approach and literature review, this research explores the ontology of worship in cyberspace. The results indicate that the Metaverse is capable of reconstructing sacred space through symbolic manipulation and audio-visual atmosphere, yet it faces theological challenges regarding the validity of ritual worship (ibadah mahdhah) which requires physical presence (ittihad al-majlis). Psychologically, the Metaverse offers a "telepresence" experience that can trigger spiritual emotions but risks reducing worship to mere aesthetic simulation. Dawah in the Metaverse is effective as an educational tool (manasik) and narrative propagation, but cannot fully replace physical rituals. This article recommends a hybrid approach in contemporary dawah: utilizing the Metaverse for engagement and education, while maintaining physical sanctity for core rituals.

The development of digital media has encouraged the transformation of Islamic da'wah from a conventional pattern to a digital platform-based da'wah, one of which is through YouTube. This transformation requires planned and professional da'wah management so that da'wah messages remain effective and able to build a positive image of da'i in the digital public space. This study aims to analyze the management of digital da'wah on Ustadz Hanan Attaki's YouTube Channel in building the image of millennial da'i. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study design, with data sources in the form of scientific books, accredited national journal articles, and digital documentation relevant to da'wah and digital da'wah management. The results of the study show that the management of digital da'wah on the Ustadz Hanan Attaki YouTube Channel applies da'wah management functions, including contextual da'wah theme planning, consistent content organization, implementation of da'wah with a polite and persuasive communication style, and evaluation through audience response. The implementation of digital da'wah management contributes to building the image of Ustadz Hanan Attaki as a millennial da'i who is moderate, credible, and relevant to the needs of the younger generation in the digital space.

The presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has disrupted the landscape of Islamic broadcasting communication, shifting interaction patterns from physical pulpits to digital spaces controlled by algorithms. This study aims to analyze ethical challenges and formulate adaptation strategies for da'is and Islamic broadcasting practitioners in facing the era of content automation. The method used is qualitative with a library research approach, examining literature, journals, and recent reports regarding AI and da'wah from the 2020-2025 period. The results show that the use of AI in da'wah presents two sides of the same coin: the efficiency of message dissemination (reach) and the degradation of religious authority. The main ethical challenges include algorithmic bias, the potential for deepfakes of clerics, and the loss of the sanctity of talaqqi. The strategy offered is "Akhlaq-Based Hybrid Da'wah," which integrates AI analytic capabilities with the values of tabayyun and wasathiyah (moderation) typical of Indonesia. In conclusion, KPI practitioners must not reject technology but must reorient strategies where AI functions as a tool (wasilah), not a replacement for the role of scholars as the heirs of the prophets.
