Adolescence is a developmental period in which family relationships may be associated with psychological well-being. This cross-sectional study examined whether Emotional Security (ES) statistically mediates the association between Family Communication Quality (FCQ) and Adolescent Psychological Well-Being (PWB). Participants were 250 adolescents aged 15–19 years recruited through purposive sampling from public senior high schools (SMA Negeri) in Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia, in April 2026. The instrument comprised 21 self-report items, with seven items representing each construct. Validator feedback was used to refine the instrument, and the final 21-item version was declared valid and ready for field administration. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM in SmartPLS 4. FCQ was positively associated with ES (β = .481, t = 9.928, p < .001) and PWB (β = .249, t = 3.952, p < .001), while ES was positively associated with PWB (β = .293, t = 4.831, p < .001). The specific indirect association through ES was also statistically supported (β = .141, t = 4.093, p < .001), while the direct association remained significant, indicating complementary mediation. ES accounted for approximately 36.2% of the total FCQ–PWB association. Positive blindfolding Q² values for ES (.146) and PWB (.138) indicated in-sample predictive relevance and were not interpreted as out-of-sample performance. SRMR = .045 and NFI = .929 were treated as supplementary fit indices. The findings indicate that higher-quality family communication is associated with adolescent psychological well-being both directly and through emotional security. Given the cross-sectional, purposive, same-source self-report design, the results do not establish causality and should be generalized cautiously.

Despite Indonesia's abundant solar irradiance averaging 4.5–5.1 kWh/m²/day, conventional photovoltaic systems remain constrained by low conversion efficiency (6–30%), attributable largely to static panel orientation and temperature-induced voltage losses that limit off-grid energy yield. This study investigates a hybrid optimization approach that integrates Fresnel lens concentration with dual-axis solar tracking to quantify the individual and synergistic contributions of optical concentration and dynamic orientation control to the electrical output of a 410 Wp off-grid PV system. The experimental methodology comprised functional verification, calibration of the Fresnel lens installation distance, and comparative performance measurement across three configurations: fixed tilt, dual-axis tracking only, and the hybrid system. Data were collected at 15-minute intervals over a seven-day period between 08:00 and 16:00 local time using a NodeMCU ESP8266-based IoT monitoring framework, with panel surface and ambient temperature logged at the same interval. The dual-axis tracker alone increased daily energy generation by 8.83% (772.7 Wh vs. 710 Wh baseline) by maintaining optimal perpendicular orientation to incoming sunlight. The hybrid configuration incorporating 15 Fresnel lenses (30 × 30 cm, 10 cm focal length) mounted at an experimentally optimized distance of 3–4 cm above the panel surface achieved 825 Wh per day, representing a total improvement of 16.19% over the fixed-tilt baseline and a 6.77% incremental gain attributable specifically to optical concentration over the tracking-only configuration. The findings confirm that the synergistic integration of Fresnel lens optical concentration and dual-axis solar tracking produces a compounded gain exceeding the contribution of either technique applied alone. The configuration suits off-grid or space-limited installations, where each module must yield as much energy as possible.

Bureaucratic downsizing is widely promoted as a strategy for improving public-sector efficiency by reducing hierarchical layers and accelerating decision-making. However, whether structural simplification actually improves local-government performance remains contested, particularly in decentralized administrative systems. This study examines how bureaucratic downsizing affects local-government performance in Indonesia and identifies the organizational mechanisms underlying its consequences. Using a qualitative comparative case-study design, the study analyzes documentary evidence and semi-structured interviews with officials involved in bureaucratic reform and organizational management. The findings indicate that downsizing can improve performance when reducing hierarchical layers genuinely simplifies administrative processes, strengthens decision-making flexibility, and redistributes authority to competent officials. However, structural reduction can also generate coordination problems, increased managerial workloads, role ambiguity, and weakened supervision when responsibilities remain unchanged. The study concludes that downsizing does not automatically produce a more effective bureaucracy. Its effectiveness depends on functional simplification, organizational capacity, appropriate authority redistribution, and redesigned coordination and accountability mechanisms.

This study aims to analyze the sustainable development of Pringmas Batik in Papringan Village, Banyumas Regency, and to formulate a development strategy that integrates the creative economy base on local wisdom. This study employs a qualitative approach using a retrospective case study design. Data were collected from 15 informants including Batik Pringmas management, consumers, batik experts, academics, journalists, and Papringan Village officials who were selected through purposive sampling. Data collection consisted of in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and literature review, followed by analysis using an interactive model that included data processing, drawing conclusions, and verification through triangulation. The research findings reveal strategic strengths that lie not only in the distinctive Banyumasan motifs rooted in Penginyongan culture and the philosophy of bamboo, but also in the artisans’ adaptability in maintaining the quality of hand-drawn batik amid the pressures of the modern market. Papringan’s presence strengthens the artisans’ bargaining power regarding market access, training, and partnerships, including support from the village government and academic networks. Potential areas for development include batik as a medium for education and creative cultural tourism that attracts the interest of the younger generation as well as tourists. Competition with printed batik also requires differentiation based on cultural value and quality. Recommended sustainable development strategies include product innovation, strengthening the Banyumasan cultural brand, optimizing digital marketing, enhancing human resource capacity, fostering the next generation of young artisans, protecting intellectual property rights, adopting environmentally friendly and developing educational batik tourism. The main contribution of this study's framework for sustainable batik development, grounded in the creative economy, integrates the preservation of local wisdom, the strengthening of community institutions, digital transformation, and sustainable cultural educational tourism.
