Abstract

Abstract

Technological advances bring convenience in various activities, one of which is in the banking sector, where transactions can now be carried out without the need to come directly to the bank. However, this progress also presents challenges, one of which is for Islamic banking which faces cybersecurity threats, as experienced by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), which was hit by a ransomware attack that caused data leakage of 15 million customers and employees and transaction disruption for almost a week. This study aims to analyze the efforts made by BSI in handling cyber threats and protecting customer data. The method used is a literature study by collecting data from various sources, such as journals, books, and research reports, and analyzing them using empirical theory. The results show that BSI improves its security system through regular training, adopts advanced security technology, conducts periodic security audits, establishes an incident response team, communicates transparently with customers, and cooperates with law enforcement to catch hackers. This research provides an overview of the importance of improving security systems and preventive measures to overcome cyber threats in the banking world.

Abstract

Children play a vital role as future national assets, yet the rise in child delinquency highlights the limitations of Indonesia's juvenile criminal justice system. Law Number 3 of 1997 emphasizes punishment (retributive justice), which often fails to rehabilitate children or support their growth. This study aims to explore policy reforms that integrate restorative justice in addressing child delinquency. Using a normative legal approach, the study analyzes secondary data through statute and conceptual frameworks. The findings suggest that restorative justice, involving victims, perpetrators, families, and communities, is more effective in resolving child delinquency while supporting rehabilitation and development. The study concludes that legal protection for children as victims in the criminal justice system requires mandatory diversion efforts by child judges, following the SPPA Law, to promote a fair and constructive resolution process.

Corporate culture is critical to determining employee engagement, especially in educational institutions, where management and employees work together to achieve common goals. The effect of clan-type organizational culture on employee engagement in educational institutions is the subject of this study. It is considered relevant to create a work environment that supports the active participation of employees of clan culture, which is characterized by family values, cooperation, and caring. This quantitative study used a survey as a sample. Data were collected through distributing questionnaires to 75 employees of participating educational institutions. The relationship between variables was examined using simple linear regression data analysis method. The study showed that clan organization increases employee participation. Employee engagement is higher in workplaces where there is a strong sense of trust, open communication and teamwork. This shows how important it is for educational institutions to adopt clan principles to increase employee participation. Ultimately, this will help the organization achieve its goals.

Abstract

Brutality and inequality in African society are common afflictions that have ravaged the continent irrespective of moral and religious inclinations. This study explores how Africans are maltreated and deprived of their rights and privileges by their leaders and political elites. The research focuses on two African plays from distinct regions where these issues resonate: Femi Osofisan's Once Upon Four Robbers (1980) and Athol Fugard's Sizwe Bansi Is Dead (1972). Both plays share common themes and adopt comparable dramatic techniques. Osofisan's work examines the injustice and brutality that the Nigerian government inflicts on many households. Robbers in the play are publicly executed without regard to human dignity, and Osofisan questions both the rationale behind these executions and the root causes of theft. Fugard was disturbed by the inhumane treatment of Black South Africans during the apartheid regime. He explores themes of oppression, death, poverty, racism, hypocrisy, and other social vices to underscore the inhumanity. Sizwe Bansi Is Dead mirrors the monstrosities of apartheid, portraying the bitterness experienced by Black Africans characterized by repressive labor policies, insecurity, slavery, and other reprehensible laws. Fugard's dramatic techniques are outstanding; he employs symbolism, irony, monologue, and collaborative efforts to communicate his message effectively. This paper aims to enhance the evaluation of these dramatic works and provide insights into issues of collaboration, revolution, treachery, injustice, and determination. The theoretical framework adopted for this study is postcolonial theory, which is relevant to the evaluation of literary representations in Nigeria and South Africa respectively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of social support programmes in reducing poverty in Indonesia through qualitative research methods and literature review. Social support programmes such as the Family Hope Program (Program Keluarga Harapan, PKH), Non-Cash Food Support (Bantuan Pangan Non-Tunai, BPNT), and Direct Cash Support (Bantuan Langsung Tunai, BLT) have been implemented by the government with the goal of improving the welfare of poor families. The data collected comes from official government reports, case studies, and relevant previous research. The analysis results indicate that these programs have successfully improved access to education, healthcare, and income for poor families, although challenges such as inaccuracies in beneficiary data, complex bureaucracy, and the risk of misuse of authority remain. This study recommends several strategies to maximize the effectiveness of social support programs, including improving data accuracy, simplifying bureaucracy, enhancing transparency, and leveraging digital technology. With the implementation of these strategies, it is hoped that social support programs can become more effective and targeted, thereby significantly and sustainably reducing poverty in Indonesia.

Abstract

Wahhabi teachings originating from Saudi Arabia have grown rapidly in Indonesia and influenced the religious understanding and practices of its worshipers. This study analyses the phenomenon using Max Weber’s theory of religion as social action. In Weber’s perspective, religion not only functions as a belief system, but also influences the social action patterns of individuals and groups. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach to explore how Wahhabi teachings shape the mindset and social behaviour of its followers. The results show that Wahhabi teachings tend to emphasise a more scripturalist and exclusive understanding of Islam, which has an impact on changes in social interaction in society. In addition, social actions carried out by Wahhabi worshipers are often based on absolute value orientation, as explained in Weber’s theory. This study provides insight into the role of religion in shaping social dynamics, especially in the context of Islamic diversity in Indonesia.
