Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (MJSH) is an interdisciplinary publication of original research and writing on education which publishes papers to international audiences of educational researchers. The Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities aims to facilitate and promote the inquiry into and dissemination of research results on primary education, secondary education, higher education, teacher education, special education, adult education, non-formal education, and any new development and advancement in the field of education. Furthermore, it also provides a forum for scholarly understanding of the field of education and plays an important role in promoting the process that accumulated values, skills, and knowledge are transmitted from one generation to another; and to make methods and contents of evaluation and research in education available to teachers, administrators, practitioners, policymakers, and research workers. Abstract

This paper discusses research on the phenomenon of illocutionary acts according to Searle's model, using the film “Babysitter yang Tertukar” as the research object. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method with techniques for collecting data, analyzing data, describing, and finally drawing conclusions. The research results reveal that five types of Searle's illocutionary acts are present in the film as a whole. The purpose of this research is to describe the speech acts in the film “Babysitter yang Tertukar”. This research provides benefits to enhance knowledge about the use of illocutionary acts and to identify the categories of types used.

Abstract

This study analyses the audience's reception of the use of regional languages in Kebung YouTube content entitled “Misteri Pangkalan Bebay”. The formulation of the problem in this study is to explore how the audience responds to the use of regional languages in the content. This study uses a qualitative method with Stuart Hall's reception analysis approach with 3 categories; 1) Dominant Hegemonic, 2) Negotiated Reading, 3) Oppositional Position. The research findings show that the majority of viewers receive the content positively and feel a sense of cultural closeness through regional languages. The implication is that the use of regional languages can increase social interaction and strengthen cultural identity in the digital space. This study provides insight for content creators and media researchers regarding the positive impact of using regional languages in digital content, encouraging the preservation and development of regional language wealth.

Abstract

This research is motivated by several factors, including teacher-centered learning, which makes students less active and often passive. Educators have not yet utilized diverse learning media to engage students effectively. Additionally, students show low enthusiasm for participating in lessons and have limited interest in reading. The teaching and learning process is further constrained by limited material due to inadequate use of time, media, and infrastructure. Lastly, the potential of comic-based learning media remains underdeveloped. The aim of this research is to determine the need for Canva-based online comic learning media during the proclamation of independence of the Republic of Indonesia for students in class XI TKJB SMK Nurul Islam. The research model used is the ADDIE research and development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The subjects of this research were 34 students of class XI TKJB SMK Nurul Islam. Based on the responses of educators and students to the development of Canva-based online comics based on material from the event of the proclamation of independence of the Republic of Indonesia. Based on user responses during small group trials consisting of 4 students, the average rating percentage was 83%, including in the "Very Interesting" category. In the field trial with 34 students, the average percentage of assessment results was 90%, including the "Very Interesting" category. Meanwhile, educators' responses to the development of Canva-based online comics at the proclamation of independence for the Republic of Indonesia received an average percentage rating of 90%, including in the "Very Interesting" category. Hence, Canva-based online comic development product is based on material from the event of the proclamation of independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and find out how the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum program and its implications are implemented in various schools. This research uses a library research approach or through literature study. The data collection technique uses documentation by recording data from several book sources and other documents such as the official media of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and also other sources of information. This research explains and describes how the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum itself and its implications have been implemented in various educational units. The findings reveal that the implementation of the curriculum in various educational units has been carried out optimally and is ongoing, although in its implementation there are still many obstacles and shortcomings. The key to the shortcomings of the implementation of this Merdeka Curriculum lies in the awareness of students as well as schools and teachers who must have the desire to make changes, as well as the clarity and real assistance from the government, especially the relevant education units, for the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum program run by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to review how the use of Pancasila Student Profile-based teaching materials in the context of differentiated learning impacts the improvement of literacy competencies among elementary school students. The method in this research uses a literature review method with four stages, including: (1) collecting relevant data related to the use of teaching materials based on the Pancasila student profile and differentiated learning (2) the researcher presents the collected data (3) the researcher reduces and inventories the data (4) then, the researcher will conclude based on the results of verifying valid and reliable data. The findings from this study show that incorporating teaching materials centered around the Pancasila Student Profile in a differentiated learning environment has been successful in enhancing students' literacy skills. This approach not only supports a deep understanding of literacy concepts but also takes into account the diverse needs and potentials of each student. In conclusion, the use of Pancasila student profile-based teaching materials in differentiated learning can influence the literacy skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to: (1) identify bullying behavior occurring in Grade IV at SD Negeri 106796, (2) analyze the factors contributing to bullying behavior, (3) examine the impact of bullying, and (4) explore teachers' contributions in implementing an anti-bullying program at SD Negeri 106796. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using a case study method. The data sources include the school principal, homeroom teacher, students as victims, and students as perpetrators. Data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers play a crucial role in addressing bullying behavior among Grade IV students by implementing an anti-bullying program. This program involves developing a system to prevent and handle bullying cases, stopping violent acts at school, conducting training on positive discipline methods for teachers, providing anti-bullying counseling, and fostering a child-friendly school environment. Additionally, teachers implement disciplinary measures such as punishments and rewards, form study groups, offer guidance and reinforcement to students, and establish information services related to bullying prevention.

Abstract

Adolescence is a complex transition period, marked by moral challenges such as the increasing prevalence of free association due to technology and global culture. This study highlights communication education based on Islamic values as a preventive approach to strengthen teenagers' self-concept. Through interactive workshops and panel discussions, the program at Masjid Besar Lembang raised awareness among teenagers about the importance of interpersonal communication, self-control, and pre-marital education. Evaluation results show an increase in teenagers' understanding of self-concept in accordance with Islamic teachings, effective communication, and the negative impact of free association. This program contributes to the development of a morally and intellectually resilient youth generation, while emphasizing the importance of collaboration between family, school, and religious communities for such initiatives.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the school committee in the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMKN 1 Pangandaran, focusing on the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of educational facilities. The approach used is qualitative with a case study research design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed inductively. The results show that the school committee plays an active role in every stage of managing facilities and infrastructure, from planning to disposal. The committee's role includes four main functions: as an advisor, supporter, controller, and mediator between the school and the community. Although the committee has carried out its duties effectively, it still faces several challenges, such as limited land and funding. Nevertheless, the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMKN 1 Pangandaran shows satisfactory results with routine maintenance and procurement based on needs and priorities. This study concludes that the role of the school committee is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and sustainability of the quality of facilities and infrastructure, which in turn supports the quality of education at the school.

Abstract

In the digital era like today, convenience can be found and obtained by anyone and anywhere. Library digitization needs to be done because in addition to keeping up with technological advances, digitalizing libraries can also maintain existence among the millennial generation. As a millennial generation who can get anything they need without having to wait long, of course, getting the desired information doesn't take long either. During the development and advancement of technology, the ease and freedom to get information are very open, not limited by anything except for several rules that regulate the distribution of information. To obtain supporting data, a literature study method is used. The results of this paper provide answers related to digitalization efforts as an effort to maintain the existence of the library. The answers produced are recommended for parties who need related information, especially for libraries that are still in the digitalization development period. The increasingly developing era of digitalization is very necessary to continue to innovate in library services to attract the interest of millennial users.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the concept of cooperation by analyzing the dialogue among characters in the Wild Robot movie. Since words, phrases, and sentences would be utilized to explain the data, a descriptive qualitative method was employed for analysis. The quantitative approach yields descriptive data, specifically in the form of phrases or words that succinctly explain the findings of the conducted research. The data consists of conversational fragments that obey cooperative principle's maxim. The source of data is derived from the dialogue of the characters in the film About Time. The researcher employed non-participatory note-taking techniques and the observational approach to get the data. The outcomes of the analysis of the cooperative principle performed by the characters in the movie is described in this study using a qualitative methodology. To analyze the data, the pragmatic identity technique was utilized. The results demonstrated that the dialogue in the film About Time contained all four of the cooperation principle's maxim. The investigator discovered 19 maxims.  According to the results, there were 2 (11%) data maxim of manner, 5 (26%) data maxims of quality, 7 (37%) data maxims of relation, and 5 (26%) data maxims of quantity. In conclusion, the maxim of the maxim of relation included the most data. The maxim of manner had the least amount of data.
