Khazanah Pendidikan Islam (KPI) is a peer-reviewed international journal that publishes original research papers and reviews in the field of Education. KPI is a scientific journal published by the State Islamic University of Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Indonesia. This journal aims to advance the progress of Islamic Education by providing a platform for researchers, scientists and academics to publish their research findings and share knowledge with the wider scientific community. KPI welcomes contributions from researchers, scientists and academics around the world on various topics, which have been determined. Journal Subject ( Four main priorities ) : 1. Inclusive Character Development of Students Through the Al-Quran and Hadith: KPI welcomes contributions that explore how Islamic teachings from the Al-Quran and Hadith can be integrated into educational frameworks to promote inclusive character development among students. The text should examine pedagogical strategies, curriculum design, and the role of educators in instilling values such as empathy, integrity, and social responsibility based on Islamic spirituality. Relevance of Religious Education in Islamic Countries: KPI invites research investigating the significance and impact of religious education in Islamic countries. Articles should explore the role of Islamic education in shaping worldviews, ethical values, and contributions to societal development, considering the historical context and contemporary challenges in various Islamic societies. 2. The Role of Education in Advancing Various Fields: Manuscripts that explore how education, both Islamic education and general education, can advance various fields are highly expected to be submitted to the KPI. Although more emphasis on Islamic education is desirable, researchers are invited to investigate how education in a broader context can drive progress in areas such as science, technology, arts, and humanities, providing insights relevant to the holistic development of society. Education Policy:Manuscripts addressing education policy are highly encouraged for submission to KPI. Researchers are invited to explore various aspects of education policy, including its formulation, implementation, and evaluation, with a particular focus on its impact on societal development. Emphasis may be placed on policies related to access and equity in education, curriculum design, teacher training, and the integration of technology in learning. Additionally, studies on Islamic education policies are particularly welcomed, especially those that examine their role in promoting values, ethics, and holistic education. By contributing to the discourse on education policy, these manuscripts aim to provide actionable insights and recommendations for advancing education systems at both local and global levels 3. KPI encourages rigorous research that contributes to understanding of these themes, stimulates interdisciplinary dialogue, and provides insights relevant to contemporary challenges and opportunities in the Islamic context.

Abstract

Research Problem: The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed Islamic education by enabling more adaptive, flexible, and student-centered learning environments. In higher education, understanding students’ learning preferences has become increasingly important for supporting effective digital learning practices and accommodating diverse ways of processing information.Research Purposes: This study aims to examine postgraduate students’ learning preferences based on the VARK model and their relationship with perceived learning effectiveness in digital Islamic education contexts.Research Methods: A quantitative correlational research design was employed involving 30 postgraduate students from the School of Education, College of Arts and Sciences, Universiti Utara Malaysia. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire adapted from the VARK learning preference framework and analyzed using Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation with SPSS.Results and Discussion: The findings reveal that all four VARK modalities (Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic) demonstrate significant positive relationships with students’ perceived learning effectiveness in digital Islamic education. Among these modalities, Visual and Kinesthetic preferences show stronger associations, indicating the critical role of multimedia resources and interactive learning activities in supporting digital learning experiences.Research Implications and Contributions: This study contributes to the growing literature on personalized and multimodal learning by providing empirical evidence from a postgraduate Islamic education setting. The findings highlight the necessity of accommodating learner diversity when designing inclusive digital learning environments that integrate technological innovation with Islamic educational values, concluding that multimodal instructional designs foster more responsive and effective pedagogical practices.

Abstract

Research Problem: Islamic educational institutions face challenges in translating religious values into organizational processes that foster knowledge development, innovation, and institutional performance. The relationships among religious values integration, strategic management, knowledge ecosystems, innovation, and performance remain insufficiently examined through an integrated empirical model. Research Purposes: This study examines the relationships among religious values integration, strategic management capability, knowledge ecosystem quality, innovation capability, and perceived institutional-level performance in Islamic educational institutions in West Java, Indonesia. Research Methods: A quantitative-dominant cross-sectional design with qualitative contextualization was employed. PLS-SEM was used to analyze data from 212 respondents across 24 institutions comprising Madrasah Aliyah, Madrasah Tsanawiyah, and Islamic higher education institutions. Interviews with 18 key informants and documentary evidence from 16 institutions complemented the quantitative analysis. Results and Discussion: Religious values integration and strategic management capability positively and significantly predict knowledge ecosystem quality. The knowledge ecosystem is the strongest predictor of innovation capability and also directly contributes to institutional performance. It significantly mediates the effects of religious values integration and strategic management capability on innovation capability, while innovation capability partially mediates the knowledge ecosystem–performance relationship. Qualitative findings show that religious values are strongly embedded in institutional culture, but their translation into operational knowledge management remains uneven. Research Implications and Contributions: The study develops an empirically tested knowledge ecosystem model for Islamic educational institutions, demonstrating how religious identity and strategic management can be transformed into organizational learning, innovation, and improved institutional performance.

Abstract

Research Problem: Students encounter diverse religious backgrounds, perspectives, and social experiences, making schools important contexts for developing attitudes toward difference. However, the internalization of religious moderation through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) requires integration beyond the transmission of religious knowledge. Research Purposes: This study analyzes how religious moderation is internalized through PAI in school environments, focusing on the integration of moderation values in instruction, teacher practices, and the role of school environments in reinforcing their application. Research Methods: A qualitative literature review was conducted by examining previous research, scholarly articles, academic books, and other relevant sources. The findings were synthesized thematically to identify patterns concerning the internalization of religious moderation through PAI. Results and Discussion: The literature indicates that religious moderation is more effectively internalized when integrated into curriculum content, teaching methods, classroom discussions, and everyday educational interactions rather than treated as supplementary material. Teacher role-modeling, dialogue facilitation, management of differing opinions, and contextualization of religious teachings contribute to students' development of moderate religious attitudes. School culture, institutional policies, and daily social interactions further reinforce these values. Internalization is reflected not only in religious understanding but also in attitudes and behaviors, including respect for diversity, rejection of discrimination, peaceful management of differences, and consistent application of moderation in social interactions. Research Implications and Contributions: The study highlights the importance of integrating religious moderation systematically into PAI and the broader school environment. It contributes a contextual understanding of how curriculum, teacher practices, and institutional culture collectively support the development of students' moderate religious attitudes and behaviors.
