Abstract

The methodology of calculation for emission factor for grid connection is determined by IPCCC Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change). The methodology is revised periodically, and become comprehensive calculation. Mainly in developed countries, the emission factor is provided by government related institution yearly. Therefore the developers who need that value can get easily, and they can save a time and money in the developing Clean Development Mechanism Project. In Indonesia, until now there is no government institution or other related institutions that have an obligation to provide and calculate that number.PTPSE-BPPT has initiated to calculate the emission factor of grid system of Jawa-Madura-Bali using data between 2002 and 2006. The Approved Consolidated Methodology 0002 and Approved Methodology Simple I-D were used in the calculation. Based on the calculationresult, it was proved that the emission factor of JAMALI grid increased 18.2%, resulted to coal consumption increased. The value of this emission factor has been adopted by Directorate General Electricity and energy Utilization and recognized by Indonesian Designated National Authority, as a National Number of emission factor in JAMALI in 2008.Keywords : faktor emisi, emisi karbon, sistem JAMALI, pembangkit listrik,Clean Development Mechanism,

Abstract

In general, coastal areas have the physical and chemical properties of lessfertile land with an extreme dry climate, so that only a few plants that can live, including Jatropha curcas L. To enhance fertility and improve soil physicalproperties, need the addition of organic fertilizer. Source of compost canbe derived from a variety of wastes, including household waste and landfill.Quality compost landfill taken from Piyungan, Yogyakarta, has a high content of organic C, pH neutral, low N concentration, with the ratio C/N is very high. But compost landfill has an obstacle in the form of heavy metal containing high Cu and Pb. To prevent accumulation heavy metals into plant tissue or clean up heavy metals from the soil it was attempted by phytoremediation using jatropha plantation and bio-fertilizer that contains bacteria Azotobacter sp and Pseudomonas sp.From the research results can be informed that: (1) The city compost and biological fertilizers, can increase soil fertility with increasing nutrient content in soil. (2) Biofertilizers could inhibit the accumulation of copper (Cu) and lead (Pb) into Jatropha curcas L., (3)Jatropha plant can be classified as phytoremediation plants, because it can absorption heavy metals into leaf tissue.Key words: landfill compost , bio fertilizer, jatropha plants, heavy metals

Abstract

The research were carried out to study the potency of Salvinia molesta D.S. Mitchell (Kiambang), Limnocharis flava (L.) Buchenau (Genjer) and Monochoria vaginalis (Burm.f.) Presl (Eceng) for Hg phytoextraction on paddy field contaminated with Hg from illegal mining. The plants were grown on contaminated media from paddy field in Pongkor (68.269 ppm Hg) added by NPK fertilizer (0, 3 and 6 g/pot) and ammonium thiosulphate chelating agent (0, 20 ppm). The result showed that the growth of kiambang, eceng, genjer and padi are significantly different. Chelating agent did not significantly affect the plant growth, meanwhile fertilizer significantly affected the plant growth. Thetreatments resulted in different Hg concentration in the plants. Fertilizer increased plant biomass and so plant Hg content since Hg contents is a function of total biomass and Hg concentration. It can be concluded that based on the criteria of accumulator plant, kiambang is the most potentially Hg accumulator followed by genjer and eceng.Key words: Phytoextraction, Hg, Salvinia molesta, Limnocharis flava, Monochoriavaginalis

Abstract

BPPT conducted the mass of CO2 gas calculation in the gas absorption experiments with phytoplankton cultivation in the photobioreaktor (FBR) batch and continous syatem using the ideal gas equation. This study stated that the method of calculation with the ideal gas equation is more simple and practical in providing data analysis compared with biomass methods. Some things to note in this method include good knowledge about the movement of the gas flow diagram of inputs and outputs FBR, an appropriate gas sampling, and accuracy of measuring instruments. The required data in the mass calculation of CO2 gas in a batch photobioreactor system was resultant CO2 concentration during measurement. Meanwhile in a continuous systems, the requireddata was CO2 concentration at the reactor input and output , the rate and duration of the injection gas.Keywods : massa gas CO2, dry weight, ideal gas formula

Abstract

The role and function of Cimanuk Watershed tend to declining, where total of critical area reach to a high of 131,384 ha from the total of 358,400 ha or about 36.6 %. In wet season debit of Cimanuk River reach 1,004 m3/second and in dry season reavh 4m3/second.Therefore the Debit Ratio of Cimanuk River reach to a high of 251, it is indicate that Cimanuk Watershed become very critical condition and need appropriate management especially in the upper watershed. One altervative of the watershed management is application of Alley Cropping system. The biomass from prunning of hedgerows Flemengia congesta have significant effect to land fertility through improvement of nutrients availability. Furthermore, the successful application of Alley Cropping system willlead to conserve land and water where it will support flood control, agricultural irrigation, fisheries development, electric generation, industrial development, etc. Keywords: agricultural, alley cropping, land conservation, watershed

Abstract

Solid waste from “agar-agar” (gelation made of seaweed) factory in huge amount and has potency to pollute the environment if it is not well managed, obviously has opportunity to be used as compost. The purpose of this research is to find out the characteristic of composting process of agar-agar factory’s waste, and the quality of its compost product, based on 2 ( two ) treatments i.e. with and without the use chicken manure starter. In general, result of the research showing that there is no significant different between using chicken manure starter and not using chiken manure starter, with understanding that both composting process can be done in aerobic condition (normal) with compost quality according to mature compost criteria. However, specifically the rate of waste decomposition (composting process) of using chicken manure starter looks faster in initial period of decomposition.Key words : compost, “agar-agar” factory waste, chiken manure starter.
