Abstract

This study aims to obtain the results of bag product innovation with patchwork using quilting techniques assessed by 5 expert panelists based on product innovation theory (Kotler et al., 2015) including indicators of product quality, product features, and product style and design and based on the theory of design elements (Wilson & Textile Institute (Manchester, 2001) including size, color, texture, and line. The research method used quantitative with pre-experimental design, one-shot case study. The waist bag products made are in the form of 5 designs with different designs and colors. The data collection technique used a mixed questionnaire. The overall product innovation results based on indicators of product quality, product features, product style and design, and application of design elements obtained a score of 85.2 in the very good category. Product innovation theory includes product quality indicators consisting of quality level and quality consistency getting very good scores. Product feature indicators get very good scores. and Product style and design indicators consisting of increasing competitive advantage and form factor get very good scores. The theory of design elements consisting of size indicators, color indicators, texture indicators, and line indicators get very good scores. The product with the highest assessment is obtained by design 3 and the lowest value is obtained by design 1 with a very good category among the five product designs.

Abstract

The Wonorejo Mangrove Forest is currently facing environmental pollution caused by plastic waste, which threatens the balance of its ecosystem. One of the main contributing factors is the lack of environmental awareness, especially among children. This study aims to design 2D animation illustration assets as an educational medium to raise environmental awareness from an early age. The research uses a qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, internet sources, and documentation. The design concept includes storyline development, themes, characters, and storyboards to support engaging and innovative educational animation. Supporting media such as posters, stickers, pins, and keychains are also included. The results of this design are expected to serve as an effective educational tool to encourage the preservation of the Mangrove Forest

Abstract

Loka Jala Crana Museum in Surabaya is an educational destination with the potential to introduce Indonesia's maritime history to elementary school students. However, the lack of engaging supporting materials often causes students aged 11–12 to lose focus during study tours. This project aims to design an Educational Activity Book as an interactive learning tool to support historical education during museum study tours. The design method involves needs analysis using the 5W1H approach and the application of educational graphic design principles. The book is designed with a cartoon and flat illustration style, and is equipped with interactive elements such as stickers, pin buttons, collectible cards, posters, and keychains as rewards. The final product is expected to assist teachers in guiding students, increase active participation, and make history learning more enjoyable while encouraging curiosity and exploration during museum visits.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelago with 34 largest provinces, one of which is North Sumatra. The Batak tribe comes from North Sumatra. The wealth of the Batak tribe in culture is one of the traditional houses, namely ornaments. The Toba Batak Traditional House is one of the legacies of the Batak ethnic tradition which until now still leaves many philosophical and beautiful values. Likewise, the elements attached to the traditional house building are often called gorga. The purpose of the design is to develop the motif of the Bolon traditional house elements, as well as to find out the results of applying the motif of the Bolon traditional house elements to the design work of women's fashion accessory products so as to create a beautiful, modern and meaningful motif renewal. The process of applying the motif of the Bolon traditional house elements is the development of the motif by making an initial design such as a sketch of the shape from the original reference of the gorga ornament then stylizing the elements one by one before being designed to lengthen following the product pattern. The technique used to realize the product is using the digital printing technique. Using 20s Cotton Twill fabric as the main material. The colors applied to the design motifs of the elements of the Bolon house each have a meaning that is interrelated with the philosophy of each element of the Gorga of the Bolon house.

Abstract

This design aims to process leftover fabric from home-made garment factories into a material for making vests using weaving techniques as a motif creation technique. The increase in textile waste is one of the problems that arise due to mass production. Leftover fabrics that are considered to have no value are reused to produce fashion products with aesthetic and functional value. This research focuses on designing a vest using weaving techniques as a motif creation technique that utilizes leftover fabric as a creative solution to reduce textile waste, especially in the home-made garment industry. The design method applied is based on the craft design approach, namely the three-stage, six-step design method by S.P. Gustami. The design method includes the stages of exploration, design, and realization or embodiment of the work. The design of the work produces a vest that combines denim and leftover fabric. This combination creates an attractive design that suits the trends and character of the young generation who are active, creative, and have concern for the environment.

Abstract

Vegetables are food ingredients that come from parts of plants such as leaves, stems and flowers. on vegetables, vegetables Also is material Which easily damaged. Handling must be appropriate from the receiving stage to the preparation stage . In one of the food industries, PT. Mapan Sukses Sejahtera, food processing and distribution has its own standards and procedures for handling raw materials, including vegetables. Handling Which not enough appropriate Also can causing cross-contamination, waste of ingredients, and a decrease in the nutritional value and freshness of vegetables. Objective: This study aims to analyze the handling system implemented at PT. Mapan Sukses Sejahtera for several types of vegetables from the receiving stage and also from the preparation stage . Method: This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach through direct observation, interviews with internal parties. company (staff Receiving , staff Quality Control , And preparation staff ), as well as studies documentation report reception goods, goods delivery procedures. Results: The results of the study show that PT Mapan Sukses Sejahtera has implemented a good vegetable handling system, by implementing good procedures in receiving vegetables. Which in accordance provision, sorting vegetables Which Good, and packaging of vegetables in the receiving section , as well as cleaning and washing clean vegetables, storing vegetables in the preparation section . Conclusion: System handling vegetables on part Receiving is carried out systematically through document checks, verification of the type and quantity of ingredients, and quality checks by Quality Control . Unsuitable vegetables are returned to the supplier , while suitable vegetables are packaged, labeled, and shipped using chiller trucks . Meanwhile, in the receiving section, vegetables are cleaned, weighed, and cut as needed. Tools such as knives and cutting boards are separated to prevent cross-contamination. Ingredients are stored in closed bowls in cold storage and monitored regularly by supervisors

Abstract

Batik is a cultural heritage of Indonesia that needs preservation, yet it is currently less favored by younger generations due to outdated perceptions and lack of modern relevance. This design project aims to develop Lamongan’s batik motifs into modern interpretations that appeal to youth. A qualitative method was employed, including observation, interviews, and literature studies of Pawestri Batik. The result was four primary motifs including milkfish, catfish, jasmine, and crab that transformed into vibrant batik fabrics. These were applied to various fashion products and supported by a catalog as promotional media. The conclusion indicates that modern visual integration without losing traditional values can increase youth interest in local batik.

Abstract

This research stems from the need for effective visual promotional media in the digital era to strengthen institutional identity and broaden public outreach. To support this, Bank Sampah Wani Surabaya requires media that can communicate information clearly and engagingly. A qualitative approach was used in this study, with data collected through interviews and direct observation. The design resulted in several promotional outputs, including two videos: one profile video and one educational video on waste management, each with a maximum duration of five minutes, as well as a printed product catalog. These media are intended to support outreach activities such as school roadshows, environmental campaigns, and online distribution. The final outcomes are expected to help fulfill the communication needs of Bank Sampah Wani and raise greater awareness about sustainable waste management among the public.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a bomber jacket using Shaho batik and to evaluate the aesthetic aspects of the bomber jacket made with Shaho batik from Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. This research employs a quantitative descriptive method with a pre-experimental research design in the form of a one-shot case study. As a result, five bomber jacket products were created using Shaho Batik and evaluated using a rating scale. The assessment instrument consisted of a questionnaire with 14 statements, measured using a rating scale, and was distributed to five expert panelists in the field. The aesthetic evaluation referred to three aspects: form or appearance, content or substance, and presentation or performance. Overall, the aesthetic evaluation achieved a score of 83.8%, classified as very good." For the form or appearance aspect, which includes design elements and principles, a score of 84.14% was obtained, categorized as "very good." The content or substance aspect, which includes ideas inspired by "Neo Culture Technology NCT Dream-Beatbox," received a score of 81.2%, also categorized as very good. Meanwhile, the presentation or performance aspect obtained a score of 84.8%, classified as very good. The product with the highest evaluation score was design number four, with a score of 88.8%, categorized as very good, while design number five received the lowest score of 76.8%, but still fell into the good category.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain ecoprint aesthetic results of the application of quilting techniques on fashion products as assessed by 4 expert panelists based on A.A.M Djelantik's aesthetic theory with indicators of form/appearance, weight/content and appearance/presentation. The research method uses quantitative descriptive with pre-experimental design, one shot case study and data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics. The fashion products made are in the form of 5 vest designs with different design placement. The data collection technique uses mixed lifting. The overall aesthetic results based on aspects of form/appearance, weight/content and appearance/presentation obtained a percentage score of 90% in the very good category. The shape/form indicator consists of design elements and principles, namely shape, color, texture, harmony, rhythm and proportion, which received the highest percentage score of 91%. The weight/content indicator is based on ideas, the source of inspiration used is "Poppy Fields" which received the second highest score of 90% in the very good category. The appearance/presentation indicator based on means/media received the lowest score of 89% in the very good category. The product with the highest rating was design 2, namely 95%, and the lowest score was obtained by designs 3 and 4, namely 88%, with a very good category among the five design products.
