Abstract

This community service research focuses on addressing the dual literacy gap basic and digital through an integrated intervention in Sukoharum Village, Adiluwih Subdistrict, Pringsewu Regency, Lampung. Despite possessing significant socio-economic potential, the village faces limited access to formal education and digital skills. The Community Service Program (KKN) was conducted from August 1–31, 2025, employing the Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) approach through stages of social mapping, participatory planning, implementation, and mentoring. Core activities included the establishment of a “Reading Corner” for children, Microsoft Word training, and digital marketing outreach for youth and Islamic boarding school students. Evaluation was carried out using quantitative participation data and qualitative observations of behavioral changes. The findings indicate enhanced reading interest among children, improved document processing skills among youth, and a greater understanding of local product marketing strategies through social media. The synergy of basic and digital literacy has shaped a sustainable empowerment model, reinforcing human resource capacity as the foundation for the village’s socio-economic development.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Sukadamai Village, Cikupa, Tangerang applies a participatory approach to empower five pillars: economy, education, health, religion, and environment. Through preliminary surveys, socialization, and intensive collaboration with village authorities and residents, students designed and implemented digital literacy training for MSMEs, child literacy programs, posyandu activities, religious events, and waste management initiatives. Evaluation revealed enhanced MSME digital capacity, increased children’s reading interest, improved nutritional awareness, social cohesion, and eco-friendly practices. A significant sense of ownership emerged among residents, overcoming time constraints and economic priorities. The synthesis of Participatory Action Research and Asset-Based Community Development principles strengthens contextual relevance. These findings confirm the effectiveness of micro-level participatory interventions in generating sustainable impact in peri-urban areas. Recommendations include establishing a sustainability unit and strategic partnerships for program replication.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) Team 207 Pranadipa Paramita in Rajeg Village, Tangerang Regency, employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology to empower the community across five key domains: education, religion, social cohesion, health, and environment. Iterative phases of participatory planning, collaborative action, observation, and reflection ensured interventions aligned with local needs and assets. In education, initiatives included tutoring, creative literacy sessions, and ecoprint workshops to foster creativity and environmental awareness. Religious and nationalistic activities, such as children’s recitation groups and Independence Day celebrations, effectively strengthened social cohesion and communal solidarity. Environmental innovations hydroponic training and Ecoplang installations with waste-sorting facilities increased household food security and waste management practices. Evaluation outcomes indicated improved academic capacity, active community engagement, and sustained behavioral change. Recommendations include forming hydroponic farming groups and formalizing youth organizations to sustain the programs. This study confirms that PAR is an effective approach for achieving sustainable, multidimensional community empowerment.

Abstract

This community service project addresses the environmental degradation and economic stagnation in Batu Silangit Village caused by unmanaged spent coffee grounds. Historically, this waste contributes to methane emissions and soil toxicity. Therefore, this study implements a circular economy strategy by converting coffee residue into organic bar soap. The methodology utilizes Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) combined with the "Melt and Pour" technology, ensuring safety for untrained participants. Results indicate that the produced soap meets dermatological standards with a pH range of 9.5 to 10.1 and possesses significant antibacterial and antioxidant properties. Economically, the initiative is highly viable, demonstrating a profit margin exceeding 50% due to zero-cost raw materials. In conclusion, this program successfully transforms ecological burdens into financial assets. It provides a sustainable model for rural empowerment by integrating environmental mitigation with micro-entrepreneurship, fostering a resilient village economy through the practical application of effective green technology and innovative waste-to-wealth principles.

Abstract

This community service initiative aims to enhance the entrepreneurial spirit of students at SMKN 1 Jorlang Hataran through mentoring by creative business practitioners. Utilizing Participatory Action Research (PAR) and experiential learning theory, the program engaged twenty students in "creative bucket" production. Interventions included technical product manufacturing training, cost of goods sold (COGS) calculation, and digital marketing strategies. Results demonstrate significant improvements in students' psychomotor competencies and financial literacy, evidenced by the successful production of market-ready goods. However, the transition to independent entrepreneurship still faces structural hurdles such as initial capital availability, low self-efficacy, and limited long-term mentoring. This study concludes that collaboration between academia and practitioners adds substantial value to vocational curricula. To ensure sustainability, the implementation of a Teaching Factory (TEFA) model and access to school micro-capital are recommended to create a resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem. Continuous synergy is essential to produce adaptive graduates facing global economic dynamics in Simalungun.

Abstract

This community service program addresses the environmental and health hazards of waste cooking oil (WCO) in Pematangsiantar, Indonesia. Improper disposal and repeated consumption of WCO cause significant ecological degradation and chronic diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular issues. Utilizing Participatory Action Research, this initiative empowered housewives in Perumahan Bersatu Maju through technical training in upcycling WCO into high-value aromatherapy candles. The process involved purification with activated charcoal and formulation using stearin to ensure quality and durability. Results indicated a significant improvement in participants' environmental literacy and technical proficiency. Economic analysis revealed a potential profit margin of approximately 97%, with production costs significantly lower than market prices. By transforming hazardous waste into creative economic assets, this program fosters family financial resilience and sustainable consumption practices. Ultimately, this initiative successfully shifts the paradigm from a linear economy toward circular management objectives.
