Abstract

This paper presents a novel full-wave rectifier to reduce an output ripple of DC wave. Several filter variations have been applied, but the filter output produces a ripple wave output. Therefore, variations of IC 7812, 7815, 7818 and 7824 are proposed to reduce the ripple wave output. The full wave rectifier circuit is designed to regulate the diode output voltage, output current, VRMS and DC motor rotation. The results of applying the IC show that the output ripple can be reduced based on the voltage variation settings on each IC. The greater the variation in IC output voltage, the greater the output voltage, current, VRMS and motor rotation. Meanwhile, the ripple output shows variations in values of 0.252, 0.023, 0.025 and 0.023. The input voltage does not affect the full wave rectifier circuit even though the diode output voltage, current, rpm, VRMS and output ripple vary.

Abstract

Current technology has significantly impacted various sectors of life, including education, government offices, and agriculture. The use of information technology aims to simplify and bring efficiency to various aspects. In this era of globalization, technology plays a crucial role for Indonesia, a country that lags behind in technological advancements, especially in the field of agriculture. Clear innovation is needed for this nation to compete on the international stage. The presence of technology that helps improve human work efficiency and effectiveness should undoubtedly be developed in the a gricultural sector. Traditional farmers can utilize technology to enhance their performance and achieve better and higher yields. Red chili peppers are one of the important agricultural commodities that need to be developed due to their high economic value. They are a national and regional flagship commodity and hold a significant position in the food menu as they are consumed daily by almost the entire population of Indonesia, albeit in small quantities. This plant can grow well in both lowland and highland areas, but its growth is better in lowland regions. The ideal air temperature for chili pepper growth is between 18-27°C, as temperatures below 16°C and above 32°C can hinder fertilization. As for soil moisture, chili pepper plants require 60% - 80%  humidity. Cultivating red chili peppers in limited land, either directly or in pots, can be a solution to address scarcity and meet family needs. Smart garden technology serves a purpose and provides benefits to farmers or plant owners, serving as a communication solution with plants.

Abstract

The recognition of human facial images is one of the key technologies that continues to be developed. In the field of Computer Vision, it finds its applications in biometric recognition systems, search and indexing in digital video databases, restricted area access control systems, video conferences, human-computer interaction, and more. The Viola-Jones method is an object detection method known for its high accuracy of approximately 93.7%, and it is 15  times  faster  than  the  Rowley  Baluja-Kanade  detector  and  around  600  times  faster  than  the  Schneiderman-Kanade  detector.  The  Haar  Cascade  Classifier  algorithm  is  one  of  the  algorithms  used  to  detect  a  face.  The Cascade  Classifier  is  utilized  in  attendance  recording  with  real-time  face  recognition,  enabling  the  real-time recording of students. To enhance the abstract, it could be mentioned that to further improve the effectiveness and accuracy  of face  recognition  systems,  researchershave  explored  combining  the  Viola-Jones  method  with  other techniques. For instance, the Haar Cascade Classifier algorithm can be combined with the Local Binary Pattern (LBP)  algorithm,  which  preserves  important  information  in  images  and  performs  well  under  low  lighting conditions.  By  integrating  these  techniques,  face  recognition  systems  can  achieve  better  results  in  classifying human heads, which are often the primary objects of interest in face recognition. Additionally, in conducting photo capture experiments using a camera, it is important to employ grayscale coloration, which retains the grayscale information in the images. Furthermore, capturing six photos during the process ensures more effective results and facilitates the assignment of unique IDs for easier data differentiation.

Abstract

PID  control  has  been  used  in  simple  or  complex  machine  control.  Coffee  is  an  agricultural  commodity  that  is widely used as a food and beverage ingredient. Coffee bean roasting is required before it can be further processed (consumed).  This  research  was  conducted  to  create  an  automatically  controlled  coffee  bean  roaster  using  the Ziegler-Nichols type-1 PID method. This coffee bean roaster is made with a series of roasters, DC motors, servo motors, ESP32, thermocouple sensors, load cell sensors, ceramic stoves, and other supporting components. The bitterness variations of the coffee beans produced are "light" (3-5% moisture content), "medium" (5-8% moisture content), and "dark" (8-12% moisture content). The Ziegler-Nichols PID control is implemented on this machine to control the degree of rotation of the gas faucet servo motor on the stove so that the temperature in the roasting pan matches the specified set point. Based on the results of the research that has been done, the implementation of PID control was successfully carried out at the temperature set point used, 145 ̊C with a 7,2 KP value, a 0.034 KI value, and a 413.6 KD value. The research tools measurement’s average error was 0.32% for temperature, and 0.24% for weight.

Abstract

Wind conditions affect the stages of take-off, cruising, and landing in flight. To find out the wind conditions, it is necessary to analyze the surface winds, as well as at Budiarto Airport, which is the location of the flying training for several flight schools. One of them is the Politeknik Penerbangan Indonesia Curug (PPIC). For efficiency and optimalization of the flight training schedules and for the safety of flight cadets, this research is important to do. This study aims to determine the effect of surface winds at Budiarto Airport on flight training activities for PPIC cadets, to determine the ideal wind conditions for cadets' flight training activities  with solo and mutual phases, and to obtain the results of monthly surface wind trends analysis. For this reason, the wind rose method is used. This analytical descriptive study was conducted with stages of observation, problem formulation, data collection, data tabulation, and data processing. Data were collected by calculating and making tables of relative frequency of wind direction and speed. Data processing is done by making a diagram of the direction and speed of the wind using  the  wind  rose  method  with  the  help  of  the  WRPLOT  application.  The  result  is  that  the  surface  wind  at Budiarto  Airport  can be  categorized  as  safe  for  PPIC  cadet  flight  training.  The  wind  speed  with  the  highest percentage is wind with a speed below 10 knots (94.6%). The wind direction with the highest percentage is from 225°  to  255°  (13.15%).  The  recommended  time  for  solo  and  mutual  flight  training for  PPIC  cadets  is  April  to October.

Abstract

The process of sending goods by humans can consider several factors, namely the weight of the goods, the  amount  of  goods,  the  length  of  the  trip  and  the  required  human  labor.  The  heavier  and  more  goods  or  the farther the distance that must be traveled, the more human power is needed to move the goods. In addition, the impossibility of human work for 24 hours is also a factor that affects the efficiency and quality of the operation. From these problems,  we need a robotic arm for moving goods based on image processing. Where in the early stages it starts with collecting color data on objects using a Raspberry Pi camera which will be processed by the Raspberry Pi 3b for data to be sent to Esp32 and will be forwarded to the servo control as a tool that drives the servo motor as the main mover on the robot arm.

Abstract

Souvenirs are relatively small objects and the price is not expensive, forgifts or purchased as a memento from a place  visited,  for  example  from  a  relative's  or  relative's  wedding.  Initially,  souvenir  products  were  part  of  the handicrafts  produced  by  the  creativity  of  the  craftsmen  who  were  able  to  turn  worthless  objects  into  attractive handicraft  products,  and  were  in  great  demand  by  many  people,  especially  tourists.  Souvenirs  are  not  only handicrafts for souvenirs from a place, but have penetrated into the industry which are widely used and used in events,  activities  and  ceremonies  so  that  they  are  mass  produced.  In  everyday  life,  souvenirs  are  still  using  a manual system. PLC system development is relatively easy, has much better resistance, is cheaper, consumes less power,  detects  errors  more  easily  and  quickly, fewer  cablingsystems,  and  easy  maintenance.  PLCs  are  widely used in industrial applications such as packaging processes, material handling, automated assembly, etc. PLCs produce an output to control goods counter conveyors. A ladder diagram program that uses the CX Programmer application can be applied as commands in the PLC and produces an output that is used to drive and control the pneumatic control system on souvenirs.

Abstract

This study aims to solve problems experienced at the Six Store Probolinggo Store where data recording and investigation of sales and purchase transactions still use manual goods receipts. When checking the size or stock of goods for each product when purchasing at offline user sales, the user still has to wait to find out whether stock is still there or not and the high error rate that occurs. The Six Store store needs a  way to solve  the  problems  that  occur,  so  the  researchers  created  a  system  design  using  the  System  Development Life  Cycle  (SDLC)  method.  This  method  was  chosen  because  SDLC  can  measure  and  improve  the  sales process  more  effectively,  minimize  operational  costs  and  increase  revenue  throughout  the  day.  While programmers  use  VB  6.0-based  applications  and  Ms.  Access.  It  can  be  concluded  if  there  is  progress produced by the news system. This proves that regular financial bookkeeping can affect the results of the sale itself. This News System is able to obtain sales reports per note, per item variant, per item and inventory reports in such a short time according to user needs. The results of the application of the Information System show an increase in turnover of 75% every year at the Six Store Probolinggo Store.

Abstract

A signature is a marker or identity in a document. Signatures have an essential role in verifying and legalizing documents. The signature is not just any sign but is a legal one and is the original image of the owner. With the development of today's technology, signature pattern identification can not only be done manually but can also be  done  with  the  help  of  a  computer.  However,  computers  cannot  immediately  carry  out  the  identification process, instead, a pattern recognition process is needed beforehand which can be done by extracting signature features.  This  research  aims  to  determine  signature  ownership,  so  identification  is  required.  Identification  of signature  patterns  is  needed  to  recognize  and  distinguish  the  signatures  of  each  individual based  on  the characteristics  of  the  signature.  Therefore  this  research  is  expected  to  be  an  alternative  to  minimize  signature recognition errors using the CNN (convolutional neural network) method. then taken with a scanner. The results of this research are that the Convolutional Neural Network method can recognize each signature image with an accuracy of 100% in the validation testing process and 85% in the testing process.
