Abstract

In today's competitive digital landscape, creative freelancers increasingly rely on personal branding to differentiate themselves and attract clients. A key platform for this purpose due to its focus on visual self-presentation and audience engagement such as Instagram is needed. This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to synthesize existing research on how creative freelancers utilize Instagram for personal branding, identifying key strategies, challenges, and research gaps. Guided by PRISMA, the review analyzed Scopus-indexed studies published between 2015 and 2025. Thematic analysis revealed Instagram's dual function for freelancers: facilitating creative self-expression and serving as a strategic tool for visibility, engagement, and monetization. Freelancers leverage curated posts, Stories, and algorithm-informed practices to craft authentic yet marketable identities. However, a significant gap exists, as few studies directly address the intersection of Instagram, personal branding, and creative freelancing. The review also highlights challenges including emotional and economic pressures stemming from algorithmic visibility demands and aesthetic labor. Current literature is predominantly Western-centric and overlooks newer features like Reels and Guides. Future research should explore these gaps and develop inclusive, culturally responsive frameworks to support sustainable personal branding. This SLR contributes by analyzing existing patterns and identifying best practices relevant to both academic research and the practical branding efforts of creative freelancers.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the concepts, implementation strategies, benefits, and challenges of developing a compassion-based school curriculum as an integrative approach in character education. The research uses a literature review method, examining scientific articles published in 2021–2026 obtained from Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, and Google Scholar. Literature was selected based on its relationship with character education, empathy, compassion, responsibility, social-emotional learning, caring pedagogy, and school culture. Data were analyzed using thematic content analysis, with stages including coding, theme grouping, comparison of findings, and conceptual synthesis. The results of the study show that a compassion-based curriculum needs to be built through the integration of three main dimensions, namely empathy as the ability to understand the experiences and perspectives of others, compassion as motivation to respond to difficulties prosocially, and responsibility as a commitment to act ethically and consider the consequences of actions. These three dimensions need to be applied through learning objectives, cross-subject materials, teacher examples, collaborative and reflective learning, authentic assessments, restorative practices, and a safe and inclusive school culture. The novelty of the study lies in the formulation of a conceptual architecture that integrates the goals, content, pedagogy, assessment, and culture of the school into a holistic, applied, and inclusive character education framework. Its implementation has the potential to improve social-emotional competence, prosocial behavior, sense of belonging to school, welfare, and student learning engagement. However, its implementation still faces limitations, including teacher training challenges, program fragmentation, variations across cultural contexts, uneven institutional support, and difficulties in measuring character development. This study emphasizes that a compassion-based curriculum must be developed systematically, contextually, and sustainably to cultivate students who excel academically as well as who are empathic, caring, fair, and responsible.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between public policy and bureaucratic reform in strengthening national food security in Indonesia. The research employs a library-based systematic literature review, analyzing recent scholarly publications on food policy, food governance, decentralization, institutional reform, intergovernmental coordination, and collaborative governance. The findings indicate that national food security is determined not only by food production and availability but also by accessibility, distribution stability, nutritional quality, environmental sustainability, institutional capacity, and public participation. The study identifies several major obstacles, including fragmented authority, sectoral ego, overlapping programs, weak coordination between central and local governments, unequal bureaucratic capacity across regions, limited data integration, and insufficient accountability mechanisms. These problems reduce the effectiveness of policy implementation and weaken the government’s ability to respond to food crises, price volatility, supply chain disruption, and climate-related risks. The discussion shows that bureaucratic reform must move beyond structural simplification and administrative efficiency toward results-oriented, data-driven, adaptive, and collaborative governance. Strengthening food security, therefore, requires clearer institutional mandates, integrated information systems, improved civil servants' competence, stronger monitoring and evaluation, transparent budgeting, and meaningful participation from farmers, businesses, universities, civil society, and local communities. The study concludes that integrated public policy and comprehensive bureaucratic reform are essential to transforming Indonesia’s food governance from a fragmented, reactive system into one that is coordinated, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable. This transformation is expected to improve policy effectiveness, reduce regional disparities, and support long-term national food security amid increasingly complex domestic and global food challenges.

Abstract

In an effort to improve the welfare of its community, the Government of Tegal Regency formulates policies in a deliberate and well-planned manner. One of its strategic initiatives is to encourage investors to invest in the regency through Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning Job Creation and Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Central and Regional Fiscal Relations (1). At the same time, local governments are obligated to provide protection for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Accordingly, the role of the local government is to foster an investment-friendly environment while simultaneously ensuring the protection of MSMEs. This study employs normative juridical, empirical, and philosophical approaches. It adopts a constructivist paradigm, operationalized through a relativist perspective. The Government of Tegal Regency has fostered an investment-friendly climate by accelerating the simplification of risk-based business licensing through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system administered by the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM RI). This policy has been reinforced through revisions to spatial planning regulations and the provision of integrated public services that streamline bureaucratic procedures, enabling regional investment realization to reach billions and even trillions of rupiah.

Abstract

The local perfume industry in Indonesia has experienced rapid growth, as reflected in the increasing popularity of local perfume brands. However, this high level of digital engagement has not been accompanied by a corresponding increase in market share, indicating the existence of an intention–behavior gap. This study aims to examine the mediating role of brand image in the relationship between online customer reviews and the purchase intention of prospective consumers of Mykonos perfume in Denpasar City. A survey was conducted involving 100 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed using path analysis and the Sobel test. The results indicate that online customer reviews have a positive and significant effect on both purchase intention and brand image. Furthermore, brand image has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. The findings also confirm that brand image partially mediates the relationship between online customer reviews and purchase intention. The practical implication of this study is that companies should prioritize the effective management of digital customer reviews while ensuring product availability to better convert consumers' purchase intentions into actual purchasing behavior.

Abstract

The motivation of this study comes from media reports of a food poisoning incident in the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG), which generated different constructions of reality in the online media. This study is aimed at analyzing the framing of this incident by both the Pikiran Rakyat and Tribun Jabar and to find the differences in the framing of this incident between Pikiran Rakyat and Tribun Jabar and to explain the implications of the differences in the framing of this incident between Pikiran Rakyat and Tribun Jabar on the public perception of government policy. The study is qualitative, based on the model of framing analysis (problem definition, cause identification, moral judgment, and recommendation for solution) of Robert Entman. Data gathering was conducted by analyzing news texts and as supplementary data by conducting interviews. The findings indicate that Pikiran Rakyat usually presents a case of implementation problem of the program, which can be fixed by administrative evaluation, while Tribun Jabar usually presents a case more critically, by highlighting the elements of policy responsibility and accountability. These differences in framing can be important for the public, as more critical framing can lead to skepticism about the program, while more moderate framing can help to keep audiences motivated in the program's goals. This study shows that the media is an agent of construction of reality in forming public opinion on social policies of the government.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effects of financial knowledge and skills on the performance of micro enterprises in the food and beverage industry in Sidoarjo Regency, with digital security awareness serving as a moderating variable in these relationships. Based on the Resource-Based View (RBV) framework, this study conceptualizes internal capabilities and digital security awareness as strategic resources that support business performance. The research employed a quantitative causal approach involving owners of micro food and beverage enterprises. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error through a simple random sampling technique, resulting in 78 respondents. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The findings indicate that financial knowledge has a positive and significant direct effect on micro business performance. Entrepreneurial skills also have a positive and significant effect on micro business performance. Likewise, digital security awareness positively and significantly influences micro business performance. Furthermore, digital security awareness significantly moderates and strengthens the relationship between financial knowledge and micro business performance, as well as the relationship between entrepreneurial skills and micro business performance. The coefficient of determination indicates that financial knowledge, skills, and digital security awareness collectively explain a substantial proportion of the variance in micro business performance.

Abstract

Research on Indonesian cinema history during the crisis era has largely focused on industrial decline amid the socioeconomic turmoil, while film posters remain understudied as historical visual sources of cultural and commercial change. This study examines the visual history of Indonesian erotic-horror film posters from 1992 to 1996 through historical and visual communication design approaches. Using historical methods, visual content analysis, and a complementary art criticism approach, the study analyzes changes in typography, color, composition, and body representation. Among 76 collected Indonesian film posters, 11 erotic-horror posters were identified, from which four were selected for closer analysis. The findings show that horror posters gradually adopted visual characteristics associated with erotic drama, particularly sensual female imagery, photographic montage, and emotionally charged compositions, reflecting changing promotional strategies during the crisis period. This study contributes to the limited studies on Indonesian film posters as historical visual sources and highlights the visual-cultural change during the 1990s.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed educational practices, including the teaching and learning of algebra. This study aims to examine how AI-driven technologies reshape algebra learning by enhancing conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, learning personalization, and instructional effectiveness. The research employs a literature review approach by synthesizing findings from recent peer-reviewed international publications, conference proceedings, and authoritative educational reports focusing on AI integration in mathematics education. The analysis reveals that AI-powered learning environments, such as intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning platforms, automated feedback tools, and generative AI applications, provide substantial opportunities to improve students' engagement, mathematical reasoning, and independent learning. Furthermore, AI enables teachers to implement data-informed instructional strategies through real-time learning analytics and personalized interventions. Nevertheless, the implementation of AI in algebra education also presents several challenges, including algorithmic bias, concerns regarding academic integrity, unequal access to digital technologies, and insufficient teacher readiness to integrate AI effectively into classroom practice. The findings suggest that the successful transformation of algebra learning requires a balanced approach that combines technological innovation with sound pedagogical principles, digital ethics, and continuous professional development for educators. This study contributes to the growing discourse on AI-enhanced mathematics education by offering a comprehensive synthesis of current evidence and identifying strategic directions for future research and educational practice in the AI era.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine how modern educational perspectives can strengthen students' conceptual understanding in abstract algebra learning by synthesizing recent research findings. The study employs a literature review method, analyzing scholarly articles published in reputable national and international journals over the past few years. The results indicate that integrating student-centered learning approaches, interactive digital technologies, diverse mathematical representations, collaborative learning, and gradual scaffolding can enhance conceptual understanding, mathematical proof skills, abstract reasoning, and student engagement in the learning process. Furthermore, applying modern educational perspectives fosters a learning environment that is more adaptive, reflective, and meaningful, thereby mitigating the conceptual difficulties that have historically hindered abstract algebra learning. Consequently, implementing these modern educational approaches serves as a relevant strategy to support the development of abstract algebra instruction that is more effective, innovative, and focused on strengthening students' conceptual understanding.
