Abstract

The rapid growth of mobile instant messaging applications has opened new opportunities for language teaching beyond the classroom, particularly through asynchronous voice-based communication. This research investigates the effectiveness of voice note-based reading practice, delivered through a mobile messaging application, in improving students' reading ability at Stai Mempawah. The voice note strategy required students to read assigned passages aloud and record their reading as voice notes, which were then submitted to the English’ teacher for feedback on pronunciation, fluency, and comprehension. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group, involving an experimental group that received voice note-based reading practice and a control group that received conventional reading instruction over a six-week treatment period. Data were collected through a validated reading comprehension test and a reading fluency assessment based on words correct per minute and a pronunciation accuracy rubric, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, and an independent samples t-test. The findings indicate that students who engaged in voice note-based reading practice demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in reading ability, particularly in reading fluency, pronunciation accuracy, and comprehension, compared to students in the control group. The results suggest that voice note-based practice provides a low-cost, flexible, and motivating medium for extensive reading practice, and that it can effectively complement conventional classroom-based reading instruction by extending guided practice time and enabling individualized, asynchronous feedback. This study recommends that language teachers integrate voice note-based assignments into reading instruction as a means of increasing learner autonomy, reading fluency, and comprehension, and offers practical guidelines for classroom implementation.

Abstract

Unemployment is an important indicator of labor market conditions and regional economic performance. This study aims to analyze differences in unemployment rates before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic, differences in unemployment rates between rural and urban areas, and the effects of education level, technology utilization, health level, and investment on unemployment, with emphasis on the role of education level in moderating the effect of investment on unemployment. This study employed panel data analysis using the Fixed Effect Model with 216 observations, complemented by ANOVA, independent samples t-test, F-test, t-test, and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results reveal significant differences in unemployment rates before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as between rural and urban areas. Simultaneously, all variables have a significant effect on unemployment. Partially, education level has a negative and significant effect on unemployment, technology utilization has a positive but insignificant effect, while health level and investment have negative but insignificant effects. Furthermore, education level is unable to moderate the effect of investment on unemployment. These findings indicate that although education plays an important role in reducing unemployment, it has not been able to strengthen the effect of investment on unemployment reduction statistically.

Abstract

Digital transformation in Indonesia is growing rapidly along with increasing internet penetration, but equalizing digital readiness across provinces remains a challenge. This study aims to analyze the typology of digital readiness of 38 provinces in Indonesia based on the three main pillars of the 2025 Indonesian Digital Society Index (IMDI): the Infrastructure and Ecosystem Pillar, the Digital Literacy Pillar, and the Empowerment Pillar. The study uses a qualitative descriptive approach utilizing secondary data from the 2025 IMDI publication published by the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi). The analysis was conducted by mapping the achievements of each pillar, grouping digital readiness typologies, and identifying digital gap clusters between provinces. The results show that digital readiness in Indonesia remains heterogeneous. The Infrastructure and Ecosystem Pillar has the highest national achievement, while the Empowerment Pillar has the lowest achievement, indicating that digital infrastructure development has not been fully followed by productive technology utilization. Based on the classification results, provinces in Indonesia can be grouped into four typologies: Very High Digital Readiness, High Digital Readiness, Medium Digital Readiness, and Low Digital Readiness, as well as four digital divide clusters: Digital Leader, Digital Emerging, Digital Transition, and Digital Lagging. These findings indicate that digital transformation policies need to be directed not only at equitable infrastructure, but also at strengthening digital literacy, empowering communities, and developing a digital economic ecosystem according to the characteristics of each region to realize more inclusive and sustainable development.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become the most significant phenomenon of recent decades, reshaping the business landscape and professional practices across various sectors, including accounting. This article aims to present a literature review on digital technology in modern accounting practice, focusing on two main areas: digital transformation in accounting systems and processes, and digitalisation in auditing and decision-making. The research method employed is a literature review. The findings indicate that the application of digital technologies such as cloud computing, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, and blockchain consistently enhances efficiency, accuracy, and the quality of financial information. These technologies enable the automation of accounting processes, real-time data analysis, full-population testing in audits, and improved transparency and reliability of financial reports. However, digital transformation also presents significant challenges, including the need for increasingly higher digital competencies, data security and privacy risks, a technology adoption gap between large corporations and SMEs, and regulatory uncertainty regarding emerging technologies. Sustained investment in education, training and the development of technological infrastructure is key to ensuring that accounting professionals can adapt to the demands of the digital age. Overall, digitalisation in modern accounting practice offers significant opportunities for the accounting profession to enhance its relevance, value and impact in supporting business growth and sustainable economic development in the digital age.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in enhancing learning effectiveness through a literature review. Research data were obtained from scientific articles, books, proceedings, and reports from official institutions relevant to digital transformation, artificial intelligence in education, adaptive learning, student engagement, and learning effectiveness. Literature was selected based on relevance, quality of sources, availability of complete texts, and publication priorities of the last five years. The analysis is carried out in the following stages: identification, screening, feasibility assessment, theme grouping, and narrative synthesis. The results of the study show that digital transformation and artificial intelligence can increase learning effectiveness through material personalization, intelligent tutoring systems, automated feedback, learning analytics, prediction of learning difficulties, and increased flexibility and student engagement. However, the effectiveness of its implementation is greatly influenced by teacher readiness, digital competence, pedagogical design quality, technological infrastructure, organizational culture, and institutional policy support. The study also found a number of challenges, including access gaps, algorithmic bias, personal data protection, academic integrity, technology dependence, and the potential for a decrease in critical thinking skills if AI is used unsupervised. Therefore, AI should be positioned as a supporting tool that strengthens the role of teachers, not as a substitute for educators' pedagogical, social, and emotional functions. This research confirms the importance of human-centered, inclusive, ethical, transparent, and sustainable AI integration models. The study's implications underscore the need to improve educators' digital competence, AI governance policies, equitable infrastructure distribution, and continuous evaluation so that digital transformation truly improves the quality and effectiveness of learning. In addition, further research needs to empirically test the longitudinal impact of AI across various levels of education, fields of study, learner characteristics, and social contexts.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in strengthening science conceptual learning at the primary school level through a systematic literature review. The review synthesizes recent studies published between 2021 and 2026 and indexed in major academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, ERIC, and Google Scholar. Relevant articles were selected based on criteria related to the use of AR in primary science education, conceptual understanding, learning outcomes, engagement, and science process skills. The findings indicate that AR contributes positively to students’ understanding of abstract, microscopic, spatial, and dynamic science concepts by integrating three-dimensional visualization, real-world contexts, and interactive learning experiences. AR is particularly effective when combined with inquiry-based learning, flipped classroom strategies, collaborative activities, guided questioning, and teacher facilitation. In addition to conceptual understanding, AR supports motivation, curiosity, spatial ability, higher-order thinking, and active participation. However, its effectiveness is influenced by instructional design quality, content relevance, cognitive load, teacher competence, device availability, technical support, and school infrastructure. Poorly designed AR applications may distract students or increase cognitive overload without improving learning meaningfully. The study concludes that AR should be positioned as a pedagogical tool embedded within structured science instruction rather than as a standalone technological innovation. Future research should examine long-term concept retention, misconception reduction, transfer of learning, cost-effectiveness, inclusive access, and implementation across diverse primary school contexts. These findings provide practical implications for teachers, schools, developers, and policymakers seeking to integrate AR into science education effectively in equitable, sustainable, and developmentally appropriate ways.

Abstract

This study examines the role of cross-sectoral governance and economic law in strengthening national development and equitable welfare by integrating the banking, mining, and services sectors. Using a qualitative library research design, the study reviews recent peer-reviewed literature published between 2021 and 2026 from reputable academic databases, including Scopus, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Emerald Insight, and Taylor & Francis. The selected studies were analyzed using content analysis and thematic synthesis to identify patterns in regulatory coherence, institutional coordination, financial inclusion, mining governance, service accessibility, public accountability, and distributive justice. The findings show that fragmented sectoral regulations often lead to overlapping authority, policy inconsistency, weak implementation, environmental and social risks, and an unequal distribution of economic benefits. Banking regulation supports development when financial stability is combined with inclusive and responsible financing. Mining governance contributes to welfare when resource exploitation is linked to environmental protection, community participation, local development, and transparent benefit sharing. The service sector serves as the primary channel through which economic gains are translated into public services, employment opportunities, infrastructure, and regional development. The study proposes an integrated cross-sectoral economic governance framework consisting of regulatory coherence, interinstitutional coordination, responsible resource allocation, inclusive service delivery, and distributive accountability. It concludes that economic law should serve as a meta-governance mechanism to align sectoral policies with shared development goals. National development should therefore be evaluated not only through economic growth, investment, and production, but also through social inclusion, environmental sustainability, regional equality, service accessibility, and the fair distribution of development opportunities across society.
