Abstract

This study aims to determine the effects of work experience, motivation, and work environment on the performance of Generation Z employees at Samaja Bali Villas Seminyak-Bali. This study employed a quantitative method with a saturated sampling technique, in which all 35 Generation Z employees were included as research respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results showed that work experience had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a calculated t-value of 3.354 (p = 0.002). Motivation had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a calculated t-value of 4.043 (p = 0.000), while work environment had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a calculated t-value of 2.989 (p = 0.005). Simultaneously, work experience, motivation, and work environment had a positive and significant effect on the performance of Generation Z employees, with a calculated F-value of 153.599 (p = 0.000). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.937 indicates that 93.7% of the variation in employee performance can be explained by work experience, motivation, and work environment, while the remaining 6.3% is influenced by other factors beyond the scope of this study.

The data analysis techniques employed were the Validity Test, Reliability Test, Classical Assumption Test, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, Partial Correlation Analysis, Multiple Correlation Analysis, Coefficient of Determination Test, F-test, and t-test. The results showed that leadership had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a t-count value of 2.458, which was greater than the t-table value of 1.682, and a significance level of 0.018 < 0.05; therefore, Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. Employee motivation had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a t-count value of 3.572, which was greater than the t-table value of 1.682, and a significance level of 0.001 < 0.05; therefore, Ho was rejected and H2 was accepted. Soft skills also had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a t-count value of 2.283, which was greater than the t-table value of 1.682, and a significance level of 0.028 < 0.05; therefore, Ho was rejected and H3 was accepted. Simultaneously, leadership, employee motivation, and soft skills had a significant effect on employee performance, as indicated by the F-count value of 22.822, which was greater than the F-table value of 2.83, with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05; therefore, Ho was rejected and H4 was accepted. The researcher recommends that Restaurant Papichulo Beach Front provide rewards to employees with the highest attendance rates and issue warning letters to employees who are frequently absent without clear reasons. The restaurant is also expected to increase the intensity of providing guidance and to provide more complete and clear information when giving instructions to subordinates. Furthermore, incentives should be provided based on target achievement to encourage the development of employees' soft skills, accompanied by regular training on effective communication.

Abstract

Social media and live-streaming commerce have created a more interactive shopping environment in which consumers can access information, assess products, and make purchase decisions rapidly. Such an environment may encourage unplanned purchases because consumers are continuously exposed to persuasive cues, including influencer credibility, the quality of user-generated content (UGC), and product attractiveness. Although these factors have been widely discussed, previous research has tended to examine them independently, leaving their combined role in shaping impulse buying insufficiently understood. This study develops a conceptual model linking Influencer Credibility, UGC Quality, and Product Attractiveness to Impulse Buying Behavior, with Urge to Buy Impulsively serving as a mediating variable. A descriptive qualitative literature review was conducted by synthesizing four reputable international journal articles addressing impulse buying in digital marketing and live-streaming commerce. The synthesis suggests that the three factors act as external stimuli capable of activating consumers’ psychological urge to purchase spontaneously. Drawing on the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) Theory and the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), the proposed framework clarifies the process through which marketing stimuli lead to impulse buying behavior. The model also offers theoretical insights and practical considerations for the development of digital marketing strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the export competitiveness of Indonesian coconut products in the China and ASEAN markets (Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore) during the 2014–2024 period, with particular attention to the shifting export structure toward raw materials and the potential for downstream processing (hilirisasi). A quantitative descriptive-explanatory approach was employed using secondary time-series data sourced from UN Comtrade, BPS (Statistics Indonesia), and Trademap. The analysis was conducted using three indicators: Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Trade Specialization Index (ISP), and Export Product Dynamics (EPD). The results show that Indonesian coconut exports generally exhibit strong competitiveness and a stable net-exporter position, with the highest comparative advantage found in fresh coconut, while crude/virgin coconut oil (CCO/VCO)—the only processed product examined—shows a declining competitiveness trend across nearly all destination markets. The export structure and trend reveal a strengthening tendency toward raw-material exports, while processed products, despite still contributing a larger average export value, show slowing growth. These findings indicate that future opportunities to improve export competitiveness lie in strengthening national coconut downstream processing capacity, rather than further expanding raw-material exports that are already competitive. Theoretically, these findings reinforce Porter’s (1990) national competitiveness staging framework by showing that a high RCA on raw products can signal that a country remains trapped in the factor-driven stage. Practically, this study is expected to provide input for industry players and policymakers in formulating strategies to increase the added value of Indonesian coconut exports, including considerations for downstream-policy intervention.

Abstract

Consumer preferences for automatic and manual motorcycles in Timika are the focus of this study, driven by fierce competition in the Indonesian automotive market and Honda’s dominance in the region. Although sales of Honda automatic motorcycles have been higher over the past three years, consumers have different considerations when choosing a motorcycle type. This study aims to analyse the factors influencing consumer preferences, using a quantitative descriptive method. The study population consists of owners of Honda two-wheelers in Timika, with sampling based on the Slovin formula and data collection carried out through observation, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using indicator suitability tests, data adequacy tests and Bartlett’s test for significance, as well as tests for the formation and strength of dominant factors using SPSS. The results of the analysis indicate that price, product quality and tangible evidence were the factors tested, and all were deemed suitable for further analysis. In particular, product quality was identified as the most dominant factor influencing consumer preferences when choosing between Honda automatic and manual motorcycles in Timika, supported by survey data showing a high level of satisfaction with Honda spare parts and authorised service centres.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of breakfast services in the hospitality industry at the Cartenz Hotel in Timika, where the hospitality sector has remained competitive and resilient amidst the onslaught of well-known, star-rated hotels, thereby serving as a strategic initiative in achieving economic growth. The data used is secondary data, analysed using a quantitative descriptive method. The study population consists of staff working at the Cartenz Hotel in Timika, with the sample drawn from the total workforce; data collection techniques included questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used for data analysis. The research findings indicate that, regarding direct labour absorption in the hospitality sector, the work experience variable had the highest factor loading compared to other variables such as occupancy rates and work skills. This high factor loading value indicates that work experience contributes most significantly to the main factor influencing labour absorption in the hospitality industry. This means that work experience is the most dominant variable in explaining data variation and plays a crucial role in the recruitment process.
