Abstract

The South Sumatra Provincial Hospital, RSUD Siti Fatimah, continuously generates substantial amounts of medical data across multiple departments, including outpatient, inpatient, and emergency care. However, the fragmentation of these data sources frequently hinders the effective tracking of service metrics and medical audits, complicating critical evaluation and strategic governance. To address this challenge, this research outlines the design and implementation of SIMPEL-SIFAT, a web-based analytical dashboard for monitoring hospital performance indicators, engineered utilizing the Laravel framework. The development lifecycle encompassed comprehensive requirements gathering, architectural planning utilizing the Model-View-Controller (MVC) paradigm, and backend integration using Microsoft SQL Server. Functional validation was thoroughly conducted via Black Box Testing. The resulting platform delivers dynamic visualizations of essential operational metrics—such as Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR), Length of Stay (LOS), and Turn Over Interval (TOI)—alongside robust service audit capabilities and streamlined patient data retrieval. Evaluation outcomes demonstrate that the system performs strictly in accordance with specified requirements, effectively facilitating continuous data processing and oversight. Ultimately, SIMPEL-SIFAT successfully consolidates clinical data to provide actionable insights, empowering data-driven decision-making and significantly enhancing the efficiency of monitoring frameworks at RSUD Siti Fatimah.

Abstract

Network activity monitoring is an important process in maintaining service availability and supporting information technology infrastructure security in enterprise environments. Network devices generate log data that can be utilized to monitor system activities, detect network disruptions, and support analysis processes. However, managing logs distributed across multiple devices often makes monitoring activities less effective and more difficult for network administrators. This study aims to implement Graylog as a network activity monitoring system using Syslog to provide centralized log management. The research method consisted of system requirement identification, architecture design, Graylog implementation on Ubuntu Server 22.04.5 LTS, Syslog UDP configuration on a Cisco SG300-28PP switch, and testing of log collection and visualization processes. The system was developed using Graylog 6.1.16 as the log management platform, OpenSearch 2.19.5 as the indexing and search engine, and MongoDB 7.0.34 as the configuration database. The results show that Graylog successfully receives, stores, manages, and displays log data generated by network devices in a centralized manner. In addition, the search and dashboard features provide structured visualization of network activities, enabling administrators to perform monitoring and analysis more efficiently. Based on the testing results, all major functions of the monitoring system operated as expected. Therefore, the implementation of Graylog and Syslog can be considered an effective solution for centralized network activity monitoring in enterprise environments.

Abstract

The increasing global demand for energy and the environmental impact caused by fossil fuel consumption have encouraged the development of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. However, the intermittent nature of solar energy creates challenges in maintaining a stable energy supply, especially for thermal applications such as ovens. Therefore, this study proposes an energy management system for a hybrid solar–gas oven integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) using a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC). The proposed system combines solar energy, battery storage, and gas as a backup energy source to ensure a stable thermal energy supply under various operating conditions. The fuzzy logic method is applied to determine the most optimal energy source in real time based on solar radiation intensity, battery state of charge, and thermal load demand. The system is designed to improve energy distribution efficiency, reduce excessive battery usage, and maintain stable oven operation. The results show that the fuzzy logic-based energy management strategy can optimize renewable energy utilization while maintaining system reliability and stability. Therefore, the developed hybrid energy management system has strong potential to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and support sustainable energy applications in thermal processing systems.

Abstract

The increasing accumulation of polypropylene (PP) plastic waste and durian peel waste has become an environmental concern that requires effective and sustainable management strategies. One promising approach is the conversion of these wastes into liquid fuel through the pyrolysis process. This study aims to investigate the effect of natural zeolite addition on the quality of pyrolysis oil produced from a mixture of PP plastic waste and durian peel powder. The study is based on the principles of pyrolysis, PP plastic depolymerization, the role of biomass in co-pyrolysis, and the function of natural zeolite as a catalyst for hydrocarbon cracking. An experimental laboratory method was employed using a batch-type pyrolysis reactor operated at 400°C for 60 minutes. Natural zeolite concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% were applied, while the amount of durian peel powder was maintained at 5 grams for each sample. The parameters analyzed included pyrolysis oil yield, density, viscosity, and calorific value. The results showed that the addition of natural zeolite increased oil production, with the highest yield reaching 375 mL in sample D3. The highest density was obtained in sample D4 at 9.021 g/mL, while the highest viscosity and calorific value were achieved by sample D5 at 0.38 mm²/s and 5,277.01 cal/g, respectively. These findings indicate that natural zeolite significantly influences the characteristics of pyrolysis oil, with a 15% zeolite concentration providing the best energy quality based on the calorific value obtained

Abstract

The development of information technology drives the need for digital literacy within Islamic boarding schools or pesantren. Observations at Pesantren Terpadu Ulul Abshor indicate low understanding of the Internet of Things (IoT) and poor waste management that risks disrupting health. This study aims to develop an IoT-based smart trash can using a Wemos D1 Mini micro-controller, ultrasonic sensor, PIR sensor, servo motor, LED indicator, buzzer, and the Blynk application for remote monitoring via smartphone. The Research and Development or R&D method was applied through the stages of design, implementation, and structured testing. The test results show that the entire system functions successfully. The PIR sensor detects human presence, the ultrasonic sensor measures waste capacity accurately, the servo opens and closes automatically, and the Wemos D1 Mini successfully sends full-condition notifications upon reaching 80 percent capacity to the petugas Blynk application. The feasibility test by internal and external validators yielded a total score of 34, placing it in the very good category. This research is beneficial for improving sanitation efficiency while serving as a practical learning medium for IoT technology among students.

Abstract

UWL-001 is an exploration well located in the Banggai area, Central Sulawesi, where the completion program applies Tubing Conveyed Perforating (TCP) with an underbalance perforation approach. In this method, the hydrostatic pressure inside the wellbore must remain lower than the reservoir pressure; therefore, an appropriate water cushion design is required to satisfy the minimum pressure requirement of the Mechanical Safety Impact (MSI) firing head while maintaining the underbalance condition. This study aims to evaluate the water cushion design for the TCP operation in UWL-001 using a hydrostatic pressure approach. A descriptive quantitative case study was conducted using operational data provided by PT Elnusa Tbk, including well data, Drill Stem Test (DST) string configuration, log correlation results, reservoir pressure, and the water cushion program. Hydrostatic pressure calculations were employed to determine the optimum water cushion height, hydrostatic pressure, underbalance pressure, the number of tubing joints filled with water, and the required fluid volume. The initial design resulted in a water cushion height of 192 m, requiring 22 tubing joints and 5.8 bbl of water. During field implementation, the operator increased the water cushion height to 368 m, producing a hydrostatic pressure of 523 psi, an underbalance pressure of 2010 psi, 41 tubing joints, and 10.5 bbl of water. Although the hydrostatic pressure increased, the underbalance condition was successfully maintained because the hydrostatic pressure remained below the reservoir pressure. These findings demonstrate that the hydrostatic pressure approach provides an effective basis for designing a water cushion capable of ensuring reliable firing head activation while preserving the underbalance condition during Tubing Conveyed Perforating operations

Abstract

SMP Perguruan IRA is a private educational institution that still records employee attendance using attendance books. This method causes several problems, such as queues during attendance recording, difficulties in searching attendance data, and inefficiencies in generating attendance reports. This study aims to design a web-based employee attendance information system using QR Code and the Linear Congruential Method (LCM) to address these issues. QR Code technology enables employees to record attendance practically through smartphone scanning, while LCM is used to periodically regenerate QR Codes by producing pseudo-random values, thereby reducing the risk of code misuse through sharing or photography. The proposed application stores attendance data in a database, allowing fast data retrieval and automatic report generation. The results indicate that the web-based application provides a more efficient attendance recording process, faster data retrieval, and easier report management compared to the previous approach. Therefore, the integration of QR Code and LCM in a web-based application is considered effective in improving employee attendance management at SMP Perguruan IRA.

Abstract

The Library of Yayasan Perguruan IRA has a collection of 8,885 books divided into nine categories. However, its management is still carried out in a simple manner, causing the process of searching for book information to take a long time, library services to be less optimal, and literacy activities to not yet utilize collection data as a basis for planning. This study aims to design a web-based library book collection information system integrated with the Decision Tree algorithm to generate literacy activity recommendations that are suitable for the condition of the available book collections. The program is developed using a web-based approach with a relational database for structured data storage, while the Decision Tree algorithm is applied to classify collection patterns and produce appropriate literacy recommendations. The program design results show that book information searches can be performed more quickly, collection data can be stored in a structured and easily accessible manner, and literacy activity recommendations can be generated based on collection data analysis using an algorithm. Compared to the currently running management program, the web-based program offers more efficient data management, faster information searches, and data-driven literacy planning. The implementation of this program is expected to improve the effectiveness of library management and support the development of literacy programs at Yayasan Perguruan IRA

Abstract

SMK Parulian 2 Medan is one of the educational institutions that accepts student interns from various universities. The management of internship activities involves various processes, including student registration, placement, activity recording, monitoring, and internship report management. Based on observations and interviews conducted at SMK Parulian 2 Medan, internship management is still carried out using documents and simple file storage, causing difficulties in data retrieval, information management, and activity monitoring. This study aims to design a web-based internship activity management information system to support the management of internship data in an integrated manner. The proposed program provides features for managing student data, internship placements, activity records, monitoring processes, and internship reports. The implementation of the program is expected to improve the effectiveness of internship data management, accelerate information retrieval, facilitate monitoring activities, and support reporting processes. Therefore, the program can assist SMK Parulian 2 Medan in improving the quality and efficiency of student internship management

Abstract

The logistics and freight forwarding industry continues to develop in line with the increasing demand for fast, accurate, and transparent delivery services. PT. Naira Mitralogistik Indonesia currently utilizes a website as an information medium; however, it does not yet provide an automatic shipping cost calculation feature. Customers still need to contact customer service to obtain shipping cost information, resulting in service delays, inefficiency, and the potential for human error in determining shipping tariffs. Therefore, this study aims to develop a web-based shipping cost determination application by implementing the Full Costing method to generate more accurate and transparent shipping cost calculations. The application was developed using the Waterfall software development model, while software analysis and design employed Data Flow Diagram (DFD) and Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD). The Full Costing method calculates shipping costs by considering all operational cost components, including fuel costs, labor costs, and other operational expenses. The application determines shipping costs based on the origin city, destination city, shipping distance, item type, and item weight. The research resulted in a web-based application capable of automatically calculating shipping cost estimates in real-time. The implementation of the application improves operational efficiency, minimizes tariff calculation errors, and enables customers to obtain shipping cost information independently. Consequently, the developed application contributes to improving service quality and operational effectiveness at PT. Naira Mitralogistik Indonesia
