Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has brought significant transformations in various sectors, including the financial institution industry. Innovations such as fintech, artificial intelligence, and blockhain have changed convetional business models and created new challenges for the existing legal framework. This study aims to analyze the impect of digital technology developments on the law of financial institutions in Indonesia, especially in the context of consumer protection, cyber risk mitigation, and regulatory adjustments. The research method used is normative juridical with a literature study approach, reviewing various laws and regulations legal theories, and related literature. The results of the study indicate that current financial institution law needs to adapt proactively to accommodate the dynamics caused by digital technology.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the influence of Work Environment, Organizational Culture, and Workload on the employee performance at PT. Anugerah Sinar Mustika Medan. The research method employed by the authors is a quantitative descriptive approach. The sample consists of all employees at PT. Anugerah Sinar Mustika Medan, totaling 69 individuals. Based on the results of the t-test, it can be concluded that the Work Environment, Organizational Culture, and Workload each have a partially significant effect on employee performance. Furthermore, the results of the F-test indicate that the Work Environment, Organizational Culture, and Workload simultaneously have a significant effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination analysis shows an Adjusted R Square value of 0.733 (73.3%), which means that 73.3% of employee performance is influenced by the Work Environment, Organizational Culture, and Workload, while the remaining 26.7% is explained by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

Arabic language instruction at the elementary school level often faces challenges due to low student engagement and the lack of teaching strategies that account for diverse learning characteristics. Conventional one-size-fits-all teaching models tend to overlook differences in students’ readiness, interests, and learning styles, which in turn leads to decreased motivation and poor academic outcomes. To address these issues, this study examines the implementation of a differentiated instruction approach within the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model as a strategy to foster a more adaptive, participatory, and meaningful Arabic learning experience. The objective of this research is to describe the strategy for applying differentiated instruction within the PBL framework and to analyze its impact on student engagement and learning outcomes. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Informants in this research consist of one Arabic language teacher and three fifth-grade students from SDIT Asy-Syafi’i. The results indicate that the implementation of this approach positively influences students’ active participation, learning motivation, as well as communication and critical thinking skills in Arabic language learning. Differentiation strategies applied in the content, process, and product stages of PBL successfully accommodate student diversity and create a more inclusive learning experience.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran orang tua dalam meningkatkan minat baca anak di Kelurahan 2 Ulu, Kota Palembang. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh pentingnya peran keluarga sebagai lingkungan pendidikan pertama dan utama bagi anak, khususnya dalam membentuk kebiasaan literasi. Fenomena rendahnya minat baca anak di wilayah tersebut, yang dipengaruhi oleh dominasi dari penggunaan gadget, minimnya fasilitas membaca, dan kurangnya keterlibatan orang tua dalam kegiatan literasi di rumah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi terbuka dan wawancara terstruktur terhadap orang tua yang memiliki anak usia 6–12 tahun di Kelurahan 2 Ulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran orang tua sebagai motivator, fasilitator, pendamping, dan model memegang peranan penting dalam meningkatkan minat baca anak. Orang tua yang aktif memberikan dorongan, menyediakan bahan bacaan, mendampingi saat membaca, serta menunjukkan kebiasaan membaca di rumah, mampu menumbuhkan ketertarikan dan kebiasaan membaca pada anak. Penelitian ini menekankan bahwa keterlibatan orang tua secara konsisten merupakan kunci dalam meningkatkan minat baca anak.

Abstract

Nepotism in village governance is a phenomenon that negatively impacts government administration, public services, and rural development. This study aims to analyze the practice of nepotism in village governance through the lens of critical sociology, particularly within the theoretical frameworks of Michel Foucault and Karl Marx. Using a literature review approach, this research identifies that nepotism in village governance is often legitimized through patronage culture and kinship ties, which hinder meritocracy and create social inequality. The findings reveal that nepotistic practices lead to weak transparency, poor public service delivery, and increasing public distrust in village governance. From Foucault’s perspective, nepotism is part of a power mechanism that sustains the dominance of certain groups, while Marx highlights nepotism’s role in maintaining social and economic stratification. Therefore, reforms in the recruitment system for village officials, enhanced transparency, and the implementation of meritocracy-based governance principles are necessary to mitigate the negative impacts of nepotism in village governance.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the village government's strategy in improving administrative competency in Margasari Village and to identify the obstacles and challenges faced as well as the opportunities and potential that can be utilized by the Margasari Village government in overall village services. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The research was conducted at the Margasari Village Office located on Jl. Buyut Baka Margasar, Puloampel District, Serang Regency, Banten with an estimated research period from September 2024 to April 2025. In data collection, this study uses observation, interviews and documentation as well as Triangulation. Meanwhile, in data analysis, the stages used are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the Margasari Village Government Apparatus has implemented a strategy in the form of training, socialization and coaching programs for both its own apparatus and the community, but the implementation has not been fully optimal because there are still obstacles and barriers that occur from providing efficient population administration services offline and online. With these problems, the potential and opportunities that are utilized are by optimizing training for officers to improve their competence in the digitalization realm so that even with limited facilities and budget, services can still be optimized by utilizing sophisticated technology and the availability of existing facilities.

Abstract

This study explores the values and functions of matra (sacred chants) in the Purung Ta Liang ritual, a key element of the Marapu belief system in Central Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The ritual plays a significant role in the spiritual life of the Sumbanese people, particularly in maintaining the relationship between humans, ancestors, and the cosmos. The aim of this research is to identify, describe, and analyze the forms of matra used in the ritual, as well as the cultural values and social functions embedded within them. This research employs a qualitative-descriptive method with an ethnographic approach. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, and field documentation. Thematic analysis was conducted, focusing on linguistic structure, symbolic meaning, and the performative context of the matra.The findings reveal that the matra in the Purung Ta Liang ritual functions not only as a medium of communication with ancestral spirits but also contains philosophical, spiritual, and social values such as reverence for nature, community solidarity, and adherence to customary law. The functions of matra include religious, educational, and integrative roles that strengthen the cultural identity of the Sumbanese people. Thus, matra is not merely oral text but also a medium for preserving local knowledge and cultural identity passed down through generations.

Abstract

The use of Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) can be an effective tool in achieving quality education. The purpose of this study is to understand how the implementation of Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) can improve the quality of education. This research adopts a literature review method. In the implementation of Education Management information Systems (EMIS) in various schools and colleges it is evident that the use of information technology contributes positively to improving the quality of education. Various applications such as SIMPATIKA, e-learning, fingerprint, and web applications have assisted in managing information, enhancing the karning process, measuring learning outcomes, and facilitating the enrollment of new students. However, the implementation process does not always proceed smoothly due to vurious supporting and inhibiting factors, Supporting factors, such as cooperation between parties and efforts to overcome obstacles, facilitate the smooth implementation of EMIS. On the other hand, technical challenges, human resource difficulties, and student challenges in following learning through applications are obstacles that need to be addressed.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the regulations related to the collection of the Land and Building Rights Acquisition Duty (BPHTB) on testamentary grants, specifically whether there is legal certainty in the process. The Land and Building Rights Acquisition Duty, based on Article 1 point 1 of Law Number 20 of 2000 Concerning the Land and Building Rights Acquisition Duty in conjunction with Article 1 point 37 of Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Financial Relations Between the Central Government and Regional Governments, is a tax on the acquisition of land and/or building rights. The imposition of BPHTB indicates a transfer of land rights, as there is a tax that must bepaid by the recipient of the land rights due to a legal event, which is juridically proven by anauthentic deed made by the Land Deed Official (PPAT). Based on this explanation, when connected with Article 49 letter (b) of Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Financial Relations Between the Central Government and Regional Governments, it states that the tax liability for BPHTB arises on the date the testamentary grant deed is made and signed. However, juridically, a testamentary grant deed does not yet constitute a transfer of rights; rather, it is a unilateral agreement containing a person’s declaration of intent regarding what they wish to happen after their death. The legal ambiguity in Article 49 letter (b) of Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Financial Relations Between the Central Government and Regional Governments has been subjected to judicial review through the Constitutional Court Decision Number 117/PUU-XXI/2023. This research employs normative juridical methods with data collection techniques based on literature study, consisting of primary and secondary legal materials.

Abstract

This research-based investigation delves into the pedagogical affordances of digital storytelling (DST) as a vehicle for advancing students' speaking fluency in English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Informed by Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory, namely the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) theory, the study positions DST not merely as a multimedia activity but as a culturally mediated learning aid promoting oral proficiency through socially situated practice. A synthesis of empirical studies published between 2005 and 2024 identifies that DST fosters rehearsal-based fluency acquisition, mitigates speech anxiety, facilitates learner autonomy, and enhances reflective language awareness. Further, DST facilitates peer interaction and self-regulation and thus initiates the sociocognitive processes necessary for fluent language use. However, ongoing challenges like unequal technology access, inconsistent assessment practice, and varying degrees of digital literacy hinder its full implementation. The study suggests that DST, when appropriately scaffolded and presented in relation to communicative syllabus goals, is an operational model for the development of speaking fluency in EFL contexts.
