Abstract

Character and spiritual education are essential to shape children’s personality and spirituality from the beginning of their lives. Beliefs and morality can be instilled in children aged 4 to 6 years old, when they are in the golden age of development. The purpose of this study was to determine the importance of character and spiritual education according to Deuteronomy 6:6–7 at ICHAMPS Kota Wisata, a Christian educational institution. These verses show how important it is for adults to tell others about God’s word every day. This study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation of learning activities. The results showed that character and spiritual education at ICHAMPS were integrated through activities such as Bible stories, group prayers, teacher examples, and fun worship rituals. Children gradually showed an understanding and internalization of values ​​such as respect, love, honesty, and responsibility. Families and schools collaborated actively, which was essential for success. However, there were some challenges, such as time constraints and the influence of the external environment. This study showed that education based on God’s word was consistently very effective in shaping children’s character at an early age. Therefore, parental involvement should be increased, and teachers should be trained to use contextual and relevant approaches.

Abstract

The evolution of information technology has transformed how tourists seek and evaluate accommodations, shifting from conventional word-of-mouth to electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM). Leveraging TripAdvisor as a primary platform, this study analyzes guest sentiment toward Amankila Resort using the Naïve Bayes Classifier algorithm. Review data spanning the past five years were obtained through web scraping and processed using Natural Language Processing techniques. Of the four hundred fifty-one reviews, three hundred eighty-eight (eighty-six percent) were categorized as positive, thirty-four (eight percent) as negative, and twenty-nine (six percent) as neutral. The predominance of positive sentiment reflects a robust brand image, with recurring keywords including service, staff, pool, and room. Despite the positive trend, negative feedback provides critical input for service enhancement. This study highlights the importance of encouraging guest reviews to strengthen the resort’s online presence, reputation, and occupancy rate.

Abstract

Heartache can cause great stress. This stress affects feelings emotionally, physically, and overall health. Although emotional, heartache apparently does not only make someone feel sad, angry, or disappointed. Some of those who experience it even feel that heartache also has a bad impact on their physical condition. Heartache is not only detrimental to oneself, but also to family and those around them. Ahithophel is a figure who is famous for his wisdom and understanding but became a victim of heartache. Ahithophel is known as King David's advisor. Ahithophel served David since the beginning of his reign in Hebron and was close to him for many years. Suddenly he opposed King David and joined the conspiracy of Absalom, King David's son, who seized the throne. Then because his advice was not obeyed by Absalom, he hanged himself.

Abstract

The use of digital resources in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education is becoming increasingly important. Among these tools, YouTube has emerged as a prominent resource for enhancing listening skills. This paper delves into the strategies and challenges associated with maximizing YouTube for EFL listening education. This study employs a qualitative research design utilizing library research methodology to explore the strategies and challenges of maximizing YouTube for EFL listening education. The study discussed the significant positive effect of using YouTube videos on students’ listening comprehension performance. The results highlight the distinct benefits of YouTube in improving listening skills and encouraging the creation of creative educational media, even though the study’s primary focus is on English language instruction, indicating a need for more extensive research across a range of educational sectors. To completely comprehend and take advantage of YouTube’s educational potential, future research should keep examining these dynamics.

Abstract

This research aims to describe: 1) Student learning outcomes regarding Creative Projects and Entrepreneurship (PKK) subjects; 2) Entrepreneurial interest of students at SMKN 1 Cepu; and 3) The relationship between PKK subject learning outcomes and students' interest in entrepreneurship. The method used in this research is a quantitative method and uses the Correlation Coefficient (r) test with a quantitative descriptive approach. In this study the sample was class XI students at SMKN 1 Cepu. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire method to measure interest in entrepreneurship and a documentation method for the final results of PKK subjects. The research results stated that: 1) the Creative Projects and Entrepreneurship subjects showed good results, with consistent and high scores; 2) students have a good interest in entrepreneurship, with consistent and high grades; and 3) the hypothesis results state that learning outcomes are not related to students' interest in entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study is a quantitative research using an associative approach that aims to determine the influence of food safety and cleanliness on consumer purchase intention at the Korem Night Market in Surabaya. The respondents were consumers who had purchased food directly at the market, totaling 109 individuals, selected using the Slovin formula. The research instrument used was a closed-ended questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1–4 to measure respondents' perceptions of the variables studied. Validity and reliability tests were conducted to ensure the instrument’s feasibility. Data analysis techniques included classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity), multiple linear regression analysis, t-test (partial), F-test (simultaneous), and coefficient of determination (R²). The results showed that both food safety (X₁) and food cleanliness (X₂) had a significant effect on consumer purchase intention (Y), both partially and simultaneously. The significance values in both the t-test and F-test were below 0.001, indicating strong and significant relationships. Moreover, the multicollinearity test results showed no symptoms of multicollinearity among the independent variables. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that food safety and cleanliness are two essential factors influencing consumers’ purchasing decisions in traditional markets.

Abstract

The study aims to (1) Determine the level of knowledge of housewives about kitchen sanitation in Pucanganom village. (2) Determine the conditions of sanitation implementation in housewives' kitchens in Pucanganom village. (3) Determine the relationship between knowledge of kitchen sanitation and the conditions of sanitation implementation in housewives' kitchens in Pucanganom village. The type of research carried out was field research with a quantitative descriptive method. The sampling technique used the Purposive Sampling method. The sample population in this study was 36 house samples in Pucanganom Village, Sidoarjo Regency in 2021. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire sheet (Knowledge Test). The data analysis technique used univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the study in Pucanganom Village revealed that (1) the majority of housewives had a sufficient to high understanding of the conceptual aspects of kitchen sanitation; (2) the implementation of sanitation had not been fully implemented. For example, the use of sinks for washing hands, storing cooking utensils in closed containers, and separating food ingredients in the refrigerator are still rarely implemented; (3) Statistical tests using Chi-Square showed that there was no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and kitchen sanitation practices.

Abstract

Speaking is one of the most important English skills for students, especially in the context of English as a foreign language (EFL). However, many students still face difficulties in speaking English confidently and fluently. Motivation is believed to be one of the key factors that can influence students’ speaking performance. This study aims to explore the relationship between students' motivation in learning English and their speaking ability among eighth-grade students at MTsN 2 Kota Bekasi, Indonesia. This research used a quantitative correlational method with a total of 32 participants. The instruments included a motivation questionnaire, a speaking performance test, and classroom observation. To analyze the data, Spearman’s rank-order correlation was applied, as the data did not meet the assumption of normality. The result showed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.633, p < 0.05) between students' motivation and their speaking ability. This indicates that students with higher motivation usually achieve better in speaking. These findings highlight how important motivation is for supporting students’ speaking ability in EFL classrooms.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning Model on the critical thinking skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 24 Medan in the 2024/2025 academic year. This experimental study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design, involving experimental and control groups. The population of this study was all class VIII students of SMPN 24 Medan, with a sample of 2 classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Data collection techniques include observation, pretest-posttest, and documentation. Data analysis used descriptive analysis, normality test, paired sample test, homogeneity, and independent sample t-test with SPSS Version 26. The results showed a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class after the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model, with an average value increasing from 58.25 to 82.25. Meanwhile, the control class only experienced a minimal increase, from 58.25 to 60.25. The results of the t-test also showed a significant difference between students' critical thinking skills before and after the Problem Based Learning model treatment. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning learning model has a significant influence and effectiveness in improving the critical thinking skills of class VIII students of SMPN 24 Medan. Therefore, the Problem Based Learning model can be used as an alternative in improving students' critical thinking skills. Thus, this study is expected to contribute to the development of education at SMPN 24 Medan and other schools, and can be a reference for other teachers and researchers who want to develop similar research.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara menyeluruh ruang lingkup manajemen pendidikan yang diterapkan di SMP IT Ar-Rahman di Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Fokus analisis meliputi fungsi-fungsi manajemen pendidikan, termasuk perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan pengawasan dalam berbagai aspek manajerial. Data diperoleh melalui pengamatan, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru, serta analisis dokumen yang relevan mengenai kebijakan dan praktik manajemen Sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SMP IT Ar-Rahman telah menerapkan manajemen pendidikan yang terstruktur yang mencakup manajemen kurikulum yang menggabungkan kurikulum nasional dengan unsur keislaman dan manajemen sumber daya manusia (guru dan tenaga kependidikan) yang meliputi rekrutmen, pengembangan profesional, dan evaluasi kinerja, manajemen peserta didik yang berfokus pada pembinaan karakter dan pengembangan minat, manajemen sarana dan prasarana untuk mendukung proses belajar, serta manajemen keuangan yang dikelola secara transparan dan bertanggung jawab. Namun, terdapat sejumlah tantangan, terutama dalam memaksimalkan penggunaan teknologi informasi untuk pengelolaan data yang terintegrasi dan peningkatan keterlibatan aktif orang tua dalam program sekolah. Studi ini mengusulkan pentingnya pengembangan sistem informasi manajemen berbasis teknologi yang lebih integratif serta penguatan program kerjasama dengan masyarakat guna mendukung efektivitas dan efisiensi manajemen pendidikan di SMP IT Ar-Rahman.
