Abstract

Individuals with physical disabilities, particularly those with impaired hand function, require assistive devices that can support daily activities independently. However, the development of prosthetic hands is often constrained by high costs, complex control systems, and limited accessibility of affordable technology. This study aims to design and implement an ESP32-based prosthetic hand with a real-time wireless control system that is simple, stable, and cost-effective. The proposed system employs an ESP32 and Arduino Uno as controllers, a hall effect linear sensor integrated in an electric bicycle throttle as the control input, and servo motors as finger actuators. System performance was evaluated through servo angle accuracy tests, object grasping and lifting experiments, and Quality of Service (QoS) analysis of wireless communication using Wireshark. Experimental results indicate that the system accurately follows commanded servo angles, successfully grasps objects with diameters ranging from 5.5 cm to 12 cm, and lifts loads up to 500 ml at heights between 10 cm and 50 cm. QoS evaluation conducted over 19,150 seconds shows a throughput of 1,737.59 kbps, an average delay of 4.572 ms, jitter of 4.571 ms, and zero packet loss, demonstrating fast and stable real-time communication. These results confirm that the developed prosthetic hand is responsive and functional, and has strong potential for further development as an affordable IoT-based assistive technology for individuals with physical disabilities.

Abstract

This study examines innovation in broadcasting management and modern journalism coverage amid the rapid development of national digital social media in Indonesia. Digital transformation has compelled broadcasting media and journalism institutions to adapt to changes in public information consumption patterns that are increasingly fast, interactive, and platform-based. This study aims to analyze forms of innovation in broadcasting management as well as modern journalism coverage strategies implemented by national media in utilizing social media as channels for news production and distribution. The research employs a qualitative approach through a literature study of national academic journals and conceptual analysis of contemporary digital media practices. The findings indicate that innovations in broadcasting management are reflected in media convergence, the adoption of digital technologies, data-driven newsroom management, and cross-platform collaboration. Meanwhile, modern journalism coverage is characterized by rapid news production, the use of multimedia content, audience engagement, and emerging ethical and accuracy challenges in the digital environment. This study concludes that innovation in both broadcasting management and modern journalism practices is a crucial factor for the sustainability and competitiveness of national media in the era of digital social media.

Abstract

The Proving Ground Project of BPLJSKB Bekasi is a strategic infrastructure development aimed at improving vehicle quality, safety, and performance. The main challenges in this project is the low bearing capacity of the subsoil, particularly in the High Speed Oval zone at STA 2+840–2+980, which may lead to excessive settlement and structural instability. To address this issue, a soil improvement technique using Cement Deep Mixing (CDM) was implemented. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of CDM in enhancing soil strength and stability in the specified zone. A case study approach was employed by collecting primary and secondary data, including geotechnical investigation data, construction records, and laboratory and field test results before and after CDM implementation. The results indicate that the application of CDM significantly improves soil strength parameters, with an average increase of approximately 30% compared to the initial condition. In addition, CDM effectively reduces potential ground settlement and enhances slope stability in the project area. These findings demonstrate that Cement Deep Mixing is a reliable and sustainable ground improvement method for infrastructure projects constructed on soft soils. Therefore, CDM is recommended for similar projects requiring high structural performance and long-term stability.

Abstract

This research discusses the production process of radio and television programs in Indonesia that is based on creativity and its relationship with media marketing strategies in responding to the dynamics of the contemporary broadcasting industry. Technological developments, changes in audience behavior, and increasing competition among media organizations require broadcasters to produce content that is innovative, relevant, and commercially valuable. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review and conceptual analysis of radio and television production practices in Indonesia. The results show that creativity plays a crucial role at every stage of production, starting from concept development, content packaging, to program distribution across multiple platforms. In addition, media marketing strategies are essential in expanding audience reach and strengthening program competitiveness, particularly through the use of digital media and media convergence. The synergy between production teams and marketing teams enables the creation of broadcast programs that are not only artistically appealing but also effective in achieving commercial objectives. This research is expected to serve as an academic and practical reference for broadcasting practitioners in developing creative, adaptive, and sustainable radio and television programs in the digital era.

Abstract

This study focuses on developing an expert system for diagnosing skin diseases using the Certainty Factor and Forward Chaining methods. The increasing prevalence of skin diseases and the similarity in symptoms among different conditions make accurate initial diagnoses challenging without expert help. Expert systems are valuable in supporting early medical decisions and improving public access to diagnostic information. The study aims to diagnose skin diseases based on symptoms while considering the uncertainty in medical decision-making. The novelty of the study lies in integrating the Certainty Factor method to quantify confidence in diagnoses with the Forward Chaining inference mechanism, which processes symptom-based rules. A rule-based expert system approach is used, with data on symptoms and diseases gathered from literature and expert knowledge. Forward Chaining serves as the inference engine, while the Certainty Factor method calculates the certainty level of diagnoses based on user-selected symptoms. The results show that the expert system can accurately diagnose skin diseases and provide a certainty value aligned with expert opinions. The combination of Certainty Factor and Forward Chaining enhances the clarity and reliability of the diagnosis. The study concludes that the proposed system effectively supports the initial diagnosis of skin diseases by providing diagnostic results along with a certainty level.

Abstract

The development of the culinary industry, particularly in bakery and cake shop businesses, requires companies to maintain consistent product quality while managing production costs efficiently. One important factor influencing production performance is the proper selection of raw materials. Mooi Cake Simpang IV Sipin Branch faces challenges in determining the best raw materials due to the availability of several suppliers with different characteristics, while the selection process is still conducted manually and tends to be subjective. Therefore, this study aims to apply the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method within a decision support system to support objective and structured decision making. This research uses a quantitative approach with a decision support system method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature review, then analyzed using the TOPSIS method by considering six criteria, namely price, quality, delivery timeliness, raw material availability, supply consistency, and supporting criteria. The analysis stages include constructing a decision matrix, normalizing data, weighting criteria, determining positive and negative ideal solutions, calculating distances, and determining preference values and rankings. The results show that the TOPSIS method produces clear and easily understood preference values, making it easier for management to select the most suitable raw materials. Based on the results, Raw Material 2 obtained the highest preference value and is recommended as the best alternative for Mooi Cake Simpang IV Sipin Branch. The implementation of the TOPSIS method is expected to reduce subjectivity, improve decision-making effectiveness, and support operational efficiency and product quality improvement.

Abstract

Flood disasters pose persistent socio-economic and environmental challenges, particularly in tropical regions such as Sumatra, Indonesia. Traditional hydrological and GIS-based approaches often struggle to capture complex interactions among terrain, rainfall, land use, and human activities. This review critically examines recent applications of Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI) for flood disaster mapping, focusing on machine learning models, geospatial data sources, and computational workflows. Analysis of selected studies highlights that satellite imagery and digital elevation models remain dominant data inputs, while Random Forest, Support Vector Machines, Convolutional Neural Networks, and hybrid models are most frequently applied. Workflow patterns reveal recurring stages of data preprocessing, model training, and post-processing, yet gaps persist in model explainability, feature selection, and generalization across regions. The study underscores the importance of integrating multi-source data, standardizing workflows, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance operational flood risk management. Findings provide a foundation for advancing GeoAI research and translating methodological innovations into practical flood preparedness and mitigation strategies.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology has encouraged the creation of automated systems to improve efficiency and convenience in daily life, especially in controlling electrical devices. This study aims to design and implement a smart home light control system based on Android using Arduino Uno and a 5V relay, with Bluetooth communication as the interface between the smartphone and the microcontroller. The research method includes hardware design, software development, and system testing. The system was tested for its ability to receive ON and OFF commands from the Android application, the responsiveness of the relay, and the stability of Bluetooth communication within a range of approximately 10 meters. The results show that the system can control the lamp effectively and reliably, with fast response time and minimal communication errors. This implementation demonstrates a practical, low-cost solution for home automation, providing convenience, energy efficiency, and flexibility for users. The findings suggest that such systems can be further developed to include multiple lamps or integrated with IoT networks for enhanced smart home applications.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has promoted the use of mobile-based learning applications as supportive tools in the learning process. One widely used application is Quizizz Mobile, which provides interactive, game-based quizzes to engage students in learning activities. This study aims to examine the effect of using the Quizizz Mobile application on students’ learning motivation during the digital learning period. The research adopts a quantitative approach with an associative analytical survey design. The sample consists of 33 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire to measure students’ perceptions and motivation levels. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, percentage analysis, and simple linear regression techniques. The results show that the use of Quizizz Mobile has a positive and statistically significant influence on students’ learning motivation. Students reported higher interest, engagement, and enthusiasm when learning activities were conducted using the application. Based on these findings, Quizizz Mobile can be considered an effective digital learning medium that supports interactive learning and enhances students’ motivation, particularly in technology-based learning environments.

Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce in Indonesia has led to an increasing number of user reviews shared across various digital platforms, including the Lazada application. These textual reviews contain valuable insights into user satisfaction and experiences but have not been fully utilized for automated sentiment analysis. This study aims to compare the performance of the Naïve Bayes and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithms in classifying user sentiment from Lazada reviews collected from the Google Play Store.The data preprocessing stages include text cleansing and case folding, tokenization, stopword removal, and stemming using the Sastrawi library. The cleaned text data were then transformed into numerical representations using the Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) method before classification. Model performance was evaluated using 10-Fold Cross Validation based on four key metrics: accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score.The experimental results indicate that the Naïve Bayes algorithm achieved superior performance with an accuracy of 89.56%, precision of 89.53%, recall of 89.56%, and an F1-score of 89.53%. In contrast, the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm obtained an accuracy of 73.22%, precision of 75.21%, recall of 73.22%, and an F1-score of 65.64%. These findings suggest that Naïve Bayes demonstrates higher effectiveness and stability in classifying user sentiment on Lazada reviews compared to the KNN algorithm.
