Abstract

Low interest and understanding of basic mathematics among children due to the use of conventional methods that are monotonous and uninteresting, as well as limited access to innovative learning media and human resources trained in modern teaching methods, also exacerbate this condition, creating a gap between the expected curriculum and its implementation in the field. This study aims to develop Scratch-based learning media to improve children's understanding of numbers and shapes in early childhood in Nabire Regency, Central Papua. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of the analysis show the need for interactive media that is suitable for the characteristics of early childhood. The developed media is designed with attractive visuals, supporting audio, and a simple interface so that it is easy to use. Implementation in early childhood education institutions proves that children are more active, enthusiastic, and find it easier to understand the concepts of numbers and shapes through a game-based learning approach. The evaluation results show that this educational media is effective, in line with the learning scenario, and can be an innovative alternative to improve the quality of early childhood education in Nabire.

Abstract

Pajahan Village is one of the villages in Pupuan District, Tabanan Regency which is located at an altitude of 800-1500 m above sea level with coffee plantations as the main commodity. However, coffee farmers in Pajahan Village complained of erratic climatic conditions that hindered coffee farmers in terms of drying their coffee beans. In this workaround, some farmers choose to dry their coffee beans outside districts such as Buleleng Regency. But of course this will add to production costs, transportation costs and the time needed to dry coffee beans. Through one of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka programs, namely Bina Desa, the Electrical Student Association provides a solution, namely by procuring a Modular Solar Dryer with a capacity of 40 kilograms / tool with the aim of being able to reduce production and transportation costs needed while saving time needed in post-harvest coffee bean processing. In addition to the procurement of tools, the Village Development Team of the Electrical Student Association also held a workshop to provide knowledge to Pajahan Village coffee farmers by presenting speakers from Bali Mall. In addition, program support was also held such as mass media publications, guidebooks on the use and maintenance of Solar Dryers, as well as posters, and videos of activities.

Abstract

The increasing number of fossil fuel-powered vessels in Indonesia poses serious challenges related to energy efficiency and exhaust emissions. This study aims to design and implement a hybrid propulsion ship speed control system based on the Neural Network (NN) method to improve fuel efficiency, speed stability, and system safety. The system was developed on a trimaran ship prototype that combines a Brussles Directional Current electric motor and an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE). The Neural Network method is designed with a 5-8-3 architecture as an adaptive controller, processing actual speed and RPM inputs to generate real-time motor control signals. Tests were conducted statically and dynamically at five speed set points under current conditions of ±0.57 m/s and waves of 2–15 cm. The test results showed that the application of Neural Network control improved speed stability, with a deviation of <0.5 km/h at the low set point, and significantly reduced RPM fluctuations. Fuel efficiency also improved, especially at high speeds; the increase in consumption was only ±3.42 ml with control compared to ±43.6 ml without control. In addition, the system is equipped with overcurrent protection that effectively prevents component damage, as proven after initial trial incidents. Overall, the results of this study demonstrate that the integration of Neural Network methods into hybrid propulsion systems has great potential for the development of energy-efficient, stable, and environmentally friendly smart ships.

Abstract

Renewable energy sources are energy sources formed through continuous processes, making their availability abundant and inexhaustible. Examples of renewable energy sources include solar energy, biomass energy, wind energy, hydropower, geothermal energy, wave energy, and others. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficiency and the ideal design of a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) as a sustainable alternative energy source. In addition, energy storage technology through renewable energy–based battery charging systems has also become an important focus, such as battery charging systems using solar panels that can be adapted to wind turbines. With the increasing demand for energy and the negative consequences of fossil fuel usage, there is a growing interest in finding more environmentally friendly renewable energy sources. Tests conducted in two different regions showed varying results, which were influenced by the geographical location of each area. This turbine is designed using PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) material, which has high transparency and strong resistance to chemicals. Based on the test results, the experiment in Nganjuk generated 13.2 Wh of power, while in Surabaya it generated 9.9 Wh. The spiral design allows the turbine to capture wind from multiple directions and reduce wasted wind flow, thereby maximizing the turbine’s ability to rotate the generator rotor.

Abstract

The high prevalence of malnutrition among toddlers in Pontianak City, adversely affecting growth, cognitive function, and future human capital. Despite monitoring efforts, traditional methods remain slow and less accurate. The objective is to develop an early prediction system for toddler nutritional status using a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model based on anthropometric data (weight, height, age, gender) from the Pontianak City Health Office. The methodology comprises an applied experimental quantitative design with the following stages: data collection and preprocessing (cleaning, normalization, train-test split), LSTM model architecture development, model training, and performance evaluation using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The dataset includes 1,182 samples of toddlers aged 0–60 months. Training results yielded 82% accuracy, 98% precision, 82% recall, and an F1-score of 89% on the training set. On the test set, the model achieved 79% accuracy, 99% precision, 80% recall, and an F1-score of 89%, with a weighted average F1-score of 0.83 and a macro average F1-score of 0.71, indicating solid overall performance but highlighting the need for improvement in underrepresented classes. The study’s implications involve enhancing the effectiveness of toddler nutritional monitoring, enabling faster interventions by healthcare workers, and contributing academically to the development of AI-based applications in public health.

Abstract

Learning Hijaiyah letters serves as a fundamental component in early Islamic education. However, many early childhood education institutions, including TK Bustanul Afthal Yapis in Nabire, Papua, still rely on conventional methods such as flashcards and rote memorization, which are often less engaging for young learners. This research aims to develop an interactive, educational, and contextually relevant digital learning media based on Scratch to introduce Hijaiyah letters to early learners. The study adopts a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model—comprising Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate phases. The developed media integrates animated visuals, audio pronunciations, and clickable interactions tailored to the visual and kinesthetic learning styles of children aged 4–6 years. The preliminary implementation showed that the media significantly increased children's engagement, attention, and motivation to learn Hijaiyah letters in a fun and immersive manner. Teachers also expressed positive feedback regarding the media's user-friendliness and adaptability within classroom settings. The interface was designed to be intuitive and culturally relevant, incorporating local Papuan ornaments and character illustrations. Moreover, the application operates offline and requires minimal hardware, making it suitable for regions with limited technological infrastructure. Overall, this Scratch-based learning media presents an innovative and practical solution to enhance Islamic education for early childhood learners, especially in under-resourced educational contexts

Abstract

The development of information technology has a significant impact on the information management system, including in the higher education environment. STMIK Pesat Nabire as one of the educational institutions needs an efficient, modern, and easily accessible library system. This research aims to design and build a web-based library application that can facilitate book data management, borrowing, returning, and searching for information online. The development of this application uses the prototype method, which allows the development process to be carried out iteratively and flexibly through continuous collaboration between developers and users. The main features in the app include book data management, members, loan and return transactions, and late notifications. The test results showed that the built system could run well and meet the needs of users in the STMIK Pesat Nabire environment. With this application, it is hoped that library services will be more effective and efficient, and able to increase the reading interest of the academic community.

Abstract

Modern power systems rely on high-voltage transmission lines as the primary means of delivering energy from generating stations to load centers. In Indonesia, the 150 kV network serves as the backbone of regional interconnection, making accurate analysis essential to maintain voltage quality and minimize power losses. This study aims to analyze the performance of the 150 kV Payapasir–Mabar transmission line using the ABCD parameter approach based on the nominal-π model. The methodology involves calculating ABCD constants from technical line data and validating the results with real-time operational data obtained from the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) system. Two operating conditions are selected as case studies: normal load (07:00 WIB) and peak load (19:00 WIB). The results indicate that constants A and D are close to unity, reflecting system stability. Under normal load, GIS 1 delivered 34.82 MW with an efficiency of 97.6% and a voltage regulation of 0.79%, while GIS 2 achieved 97.38% efficiency with 0.52% regulation. At peak load, voltage regulation increased to 1.24% for GIS 1 and 1.22% for GIS 2, yet efficiency remained high at above 97.3%. The findings demonstrate that the ABCD parameters can serve not only as a theoretical framework but also as a predictive analysis tool to evaluate line performance, support dynamic monitoring, and facilitate rapid decision-making in maintaining the reliability of the 150 kV transmission network.

Abstract

Electrical installations in smart buildings have evolved significantly from conventional systems to Internet of Things (IoT)-based systems that emphasize energy efficiency, adaptability, and environmental sustainability. This study reviews literature from the past six years in Indonesia, focusing on aspects of installation design, monitoring systems, automation, and the application of sensor and microcontroller technologies to achieve energy efficiency. Various studies indicate that the implementation of IoT in electrical systems enables real-time monitoring of power consumption, automatic load control, and integration with centralized energy management systems. This technology not only enhances user comfort but also reduces operational costs and supports energy sustainability through electricity savings of up to 50%. Moreover, the use of wireless networks and smart sensors in modern buildings can identify abnormal energy consumption patterns and provide early warnings for potential failures or energy leakage. The implementation of such systems contributes to realizing the smart building concept that is efficient, safe, and environmentally oriented. Therefore, IoT-based electrical installations hold great potential for widespread application in supporting national energy efficiency initiatives and promoting sustainable development in the digital era.

Abstract

Low student learning motivation in conventional teaching remains a major challenge in elementary education, especially in regions with limited access to educational technology. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of interactive learning media based on games created with the Scratch application to improve learning motivation among fourth-grade students at SD Inpres Waharia. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a prototyping model, encompassing stages of needs analysis, media design, prototyping, implementation, and evaluation through limited trials. Data collection involved student engagement observations, teacher interviews, and validation sheets from media and subject experts. The results indicated that the use of Scratch significantly enhanced students’ attention and active participation, creating a more enjoyable and engaging learning atmosphere. Teachers acknowledged that the media supported visual and interactive material delivery, accelerating students’ understanding of key concepts. Therefore, Scratch-based media is a promising alternative for innovative learning tools, aligning with 21st-century educational needs and supporting digital transformation policies in elementary education.
