Abstract

The historical-critical approach is a method of interpreting a biblical text by examining its historical, social, and political background at the time the events occurred. The author applies this approach to 1 Kings 12:1-19, which narrates the division of the Kingdom of Israel after the death of Solomon. The people’s rejection of King Rehoboam was driven by policies that increasingly burdened them, such as high taxes and forced labor, leading to disappointment and anger and ultimately prompting them to separate. Through this approach, it can be understood that the division of the kingdom was not caused solely by spiritual factors, but also by social and political issues. The historical-critical method helps readers understand the Bible more clearly, contextually, and in a way that is relevant to present-day life, especially in recognizing the importance of just and wise leadership.

Abstract

The value- and character-based learning approach in elementary schools is an educational strategy that emphasizes the integration of moral, social, and spiritual values into the entire learning process. This approach aims to develop students who are not only academically competent but also possess strong character aligned with the dimensions of the Profil Pelajar Pancasila, namely faith and devotion to God, noble character, global diversity awareness, collaboration, independence, critical thinking, and creativity. Through habituation, role modeling, value integration across subjects, and co-curricular as well as extracurricular activities, students are guided to internalize Pancasila values in their daily lives. Teachers act as facilitators and role models in creating a reflective, collaborative, and student-centered learning environment. Therefore, this approach significantly contributes to shaping a generation with integrity, strong character, and the ability to face global challenges while maintaining national identity.

Abstract

Integrative thematic learning is a holistic educational approach that connects various disciplines within a unified theme relevant to students’ real-life experiences. This study aims to describe the implementation of the integrative thematic learning model in elementary schools within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, as well as to identify the supporting factors and challenges faced by teachers in its implementation. This research employed a qualitative approach using a field study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed descriptively. The findings indicate that the implementation of the integrative thematic learning model has been carried out quite effectively, as reflected in lesson planning aligned with learning outcomes, the use of varied instructional media, and active student engagement in the learning process. The implementation of the integrative thematic learning model within the Merdeka Curriculum can serve as an effective strategy to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools, provided that it is supported by careful planning, teacher creativity, and institutional support.

Abstract

The active learning approach is a learning strategy that places students as the main subject in the learning process. In elementary schools, the application of this approach is very important to increase student involvement cognitively, affectively, and psychomotorly. This study aims to describe the application of active learning and its impact on student engagement in the classroom. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study show that the application of group discussion methods, interactive questions and answers, educational games, and project-based learning is able to increase student participation, motivation, and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between learning models, approaches, and strategies with educational philosophy and learning theories in elementary schools (SD/MI). The discussion emphasizes how philosophical foundations and learning theories guide teachers in selecting and integrating models, approaches, and strategies to create effective and meaningful learning experiences. The analysis is based entirely on literature review from relevant educational books, focusing on both theoretical and practical perspectives. Findings show that integrating philosophy, learning theory, and practical methods enhances students’ cognitive, social, and emotional development, while making learning more engaging and structured. This study provides insights for teachers to design learning processes that are systematic, student-centered, and aligned with educational goals.

Abstract

Contextual learning is an approach that links subject matter to real world situations experienced by students. This approach aims to improve students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. This article discusses the implementation of contextual learning strategies in elementary schools and their impact on students' conceptual understanding. Through this method, students are invited to connect the knowledge gained with everyday life thereby increasing their learning motivation and understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze innovative learning development models in elementary schools in addressing the challenges of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes student-centered learning, character strengthening through the Pancasila Student Profile, and the development of literacy and numeracy competencies. In its implementation, several challenges arise, including teachers’ readiness to apply differentiated instruction, technology integration, and project-based learning.This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected through the review of various written sources, including books, scientific journals, research articles, educational policy documents, and official Merdeka Curriculum modules. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, classification, interpretation, and synthesis of relevant theories and previous research findings.The findings indicate that innovative learning models such as Project-Based Learning (PjBL), differentiated instruction, digital technology integration, and diagnostic and formative assessment are effective strategies in addressing the challenges of the Merdeka Curriculum. Adaptive, contextual, and student-centered learning models are essential in improving the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the digital era has brought significant changes in the learning process, from being teacher-centered to student-centered. One relevant approach in addressing these challenges is connectivism, which emphasizes the importance of building knowledge networks through connections between individuals, information sources, and technology. This article aims to analyze the role of the connectivism approach in learning and how this approach can build students' knowledge networks. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach, through the analysis of various relevant scientific sources. The study results show that the implementation of connectivism in learning can improve students' critical thinking skills, collaboration, and digital literacy. In addition, the use of digital platforms such as Google Classroom, YouTube, and WhatsApp has been proven to support the formation of a broader and more dynamic knowledge network. Nevertheless, the implementation of this approach still faces various challenges, such as technological access gaps and low digital literacy. Therefore, support from various parties, especially educators and educational institutions, is needed to optimize the effective and targeted use of technology.

Abstract

This article discusses the application of a social approach in Educational Sociology with a focus on the relationship between individuals, groups, and society within the school environment. Schools as educational institutions not only function as places for the transfer of knowledge but also as spaces for complex social interaction. This study aims to analyze how social interactions are formed and influence the behavior and development of students in an educational context. The method used is a qualitative approach with literature study techniques and descriptive analysis of various social phenomena in schools. The study results show that harmonious relationships between individuals, groups, and society play an important role in creating a conducive learning environment, shaping students' character, and increasing the effectiveness of the learning process. On the contrary, disharmony in social interactions can lead to various problems such as conflict, lack of cooperation, and low learning motivation. Therefore, a social approach in education becomes very important to implement in order to build positive and sustainable interactions in the school environment.

Abstract

Inovasi pembelajaran di sekolah dasar menjadi kebutuhan mendesak dalam menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Rendahnya aktivitas belajar dan hasil belajar siswa sering kali disebabkan oleh pendekatan pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis berbagai model pembelajaran inovatif yang terbukti secara empiris mampu meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan menelaah berbagai hasil penelitian nasional dan internasional yang relevan. Model-model yang dibahas meliputi Problem Based Learning (PBL), Project Based Learning (PjBL), Discovery Learning, Cooperative Learning, dan Blended Learning. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model-model inovatif tersebut secara konsisten meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa, keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaborasi, serta capaian akademik. Implikasi penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya kesiapan guru, dukungan sekolah, dan pemanfaatan teknologi secara optimal untuk mencapai pembelajaran yang efektif dan bermakna.
