Abstract

Regional economic development is an important foundation in promoting equitable growth in each region. Bali Province as a national leading tourism area has experienced fluctuating economic dynamics, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic which has had a significant impact on strategic sectors. Inequality between districts/cities as well as differences in fiscal capabilities and the quality of human resources are also concerns in the formulation of regional development policies. The purpose of this study is to analyze Investment, Tourism Sector, Human Development Index (HDI), Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR), and Regional Original Income (ROR) on Regency/City Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) in Bali Province in 2019–2023. This study uses secondary data with a quantitative approach and panel data method. The data used consisted of 45 observations covering nine districts/cities over five years. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistical analysis and panel data regression with a fixed effect model (FEM) approach based on relevant tests. The results of the study show that: 1) Investment, Tourism Sector, HDI,LFPR, and ROR simultaneously have a significant positive effect on the GDP of Regencies/Cities in Bali Province; 2) Partially, Investment, Tourism Sector, HDI, LFPR and ROR have a positive and significant effect on GDP. The results of this research are expected to be considered for local governments in formulating regional economic development policies based on strategic sectors and improving the quality of human resources to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth.

Abstract

Gender inequality in the workplace remains a significant issue in Indonesia, including in Denpasar. Although the formal sector offers greater stability and legal protection, women often face challenges such as wage disparities, limited career mobility, and disproportionate domestic responsibilities. Nevertheless, women's participation in the formal sector is crucial in promoting inclusive economic development, particularly in relation to gender equality as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study aims to evaluate various factors including age, husband's income level, number of dependents, and educational attainment affecting the participation of married women in formal employment in Denpasar City. A binary logistic regression model was employed as the quantitative approach in this research. Primary data were collected through purposive sampling of 70 married women, both those employed and unemployed in the formal sector. Secondary data were obtained from the Denpasar City Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The findings reveal that educational attainment and husband's income significantly influence women's likelihood of working in the formal sector; education has a positive effect, while age has a negative impact. The number of dependents in the household was found to have no significant effect. These results highlight the need for policies that support women’s education, skills training, and flexible working arrangements in order to enhance female labor force participation in urban areas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze potential scenarios for the sustainable development of grape-based agrotourism in Sanggalangit Village, Buleleng Regency, and to identify the most effective scenario model to support the sector's long-term sustainability. The research is motivated by the current dominance of a production system focused on wine-making, limited product diversification, low participation of young farmers, and suboptimal stakeholder collaboration particularly with the private sector. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, utilizing the SMIC-Prob Expert method as a probabilistic scenario analysis tool. Data were collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, field observations, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving 30 informants, including farmers, tourism managers, village and regency government representatives, and private sector actors such as Hatten Wines. Three main scenarios were analyzed: (1) maintaining the status quo of production, (2) market-driven product diversification, and (3) increasing local farmer participation, especially among the younger generation. The analysis reveals that the most favorable scenario is a combination of all three, with a stronger emphasis on product diversification and farmer participation. This integrated strategy is considered the most adaptive in responding to uncertainties while addressing structural challenges and leveraging development opportunities in grape-based agrotourism. Theoretically, the study reinforces the application of scenario analysis in local-based sustainable development planning. Practically, the findings offer guidance for policymakers and agrotourism stakeholders in designing training programs, facilitating innovation, and strengthening cross-sector collaboration to foster an inclusive and sustainable agrotourism ecosystem.

Abstract

Community welfare refers to the fulfillment of citizens’ needs across economic, educational, and health dimensions, enabling individuals to live decently and develop their potential. In this study, community welfare is measured using the Human Development Index (HDI). This study aims to analyze the influence of GRDP per capita, minimum wage, population size, and average years of schooling on the welfare of communities in non-Sarbagita regions in Bali Province. The study employs secondary data, comprising 50 observations. The analytical methods used include descriptive statistics and panel data regression analysis. The findings reveal that (1) GRDP per capita, minimum wage, population size, and average years of schooling simultaneously have a significant effect on community welfare in the non-Sarbagita regions of Bali Province; and (2) each of these variables also has a positive and significant partial effect on community welfare in these areas.

Abstract

The increasingly apparent phenomenon of global climate change has given rise to significant psychological responses among the public, one of which is eco-anxiety. This study aims to examine the relationship between eco-anxiety and pro-environmental behavior through a literature review approach. This study analyzes various empirical and theoretical findings that address whether eco-anxiety acts as a driver of ecological action or inhibits it due to its excessive emotional impact. The results indicate that eco-anxiety has a dual role: on the one hand, it can encourage individuals to engage in concrete actions for environmental sustainability; on the other hand, if not managed properly, this anxiety can lead to feelings of hopelessness and inactivity. This study concludes that constructively managing eco-anxiety is crucial to transform it into positive motivation supporting environmentally friendly behavior. Furthermore, educational and psychological interventions are needed that can frame ecological anxiety as a form of concern, rather than a paralyzing fear.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of positive emotions, particularly hope, in fostering pro-environmental behavior amidst the increasingly alarming global ecological crisis. While many previous studies have highlighted the impact of negative emotions such as eco-anxiety on individual actions, constructive emotional aspects such as hope have received insufficient academic attention. Through a literature review of interdisciplinary studies from environmental psychology, behavioral science, and climate change communication, this study analyzes how hope can serve as a catalyst for sustainable environmental engagement. The findings suggest that hope is not simply a passive emotion but a psychological force that can shape perceptions, motivate action, and strengthen long-term commitment to sustainability. Furthermore, factors such as self-efficacy, social support, and positive narratives from the media or community leaders contribute to the formation of productive hope. This study emphasizes the importance of a balanced emotional approach in environmental education and communication strategies to create a psychological space that empowers individuals to act.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of working hours, business capital, and the use of QRIS technology on the income of traders at Pasar Agung Peninjoan, Denpasar. The background of this research is based on the importance of the informal sector, particularly traditional markets, in supporting the community's economy, as well as the challenges faced by traders in adapting to competition and the development of digital technology. A quantitative approach was used with multiple linear regression analysis, based on data collected from 108 respondents. The findings show that both simultaneously and partially, working hours, business capital, and QRIS usage have a positive and significant effect on traders' income. These results indicate that income can be increased through optimizing working hours, capital support, and the use of digital payment technologies.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the suboptimal realization of program and activity budgets in Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) in Kediri City, even though the average performance achievement reaches 87%. This indicates that the budget is not optimally absorbed, which can be caused by a lack of participation in budgeting, unclear budget targets, and weak internal control. This study aims to analyze the influence of participatory budgeting, clarity of budget goals, and internal control on managerial performance, as well as examine the role of organizational commitment as a moderation variable. The method used is a quantitative approach with probability sampling techniques and a sample of 50 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression with Moderating Regression Analysis (MRA) supported by classical assumption test and hypothesis test through SPSS software version 30. The results showed that participatory budgeting had no significant effect on managerial performance, while clarity of budget goals and internal control had a significant effect. Organizational commitment has been proven not to moderate the influence of participatory budgeting, but to moderate the influence of the clarity of budget goals and internal control on managerial performance. These findings confirm the importance of clarity of goals and effective controls, especially with the support of strong organizational commitments.

Abstract

The phenomenon of an always-on culture, characterized by the expectation to be constantly connected and responsive to work, has become a hallmark of the modern workplace, particularly among knowledge workers. This culture gradually creates psychological stress that is difficult to immediately recognize but has a significant impact on mental health and productivity. This study aims to uncover and analyze the phenomenon of invisible burnout, a hidden but persistent mental exhaustion caused by the pressure of working without clear time limits. Using a literature review method, this study examines various previous studies that discuss the correlation between digital technology, continuous workloads, and their impact on worker well-being. The results show that invisible burnout often goes undetected because it is masked by a culture of high productivity and the normalization of working outside of office hours. This research highlights the importance of healthy work policy interventions and organizational awareness of work-life balance as preventative measures against the risk of long-term, invisible burnout.
