Abstract

The performance of MSMEs can be seen from the level of Islamic financial literacy possessed by business actors. A good understanding of Islamic finance helps manage businesses more professionally and sustainably. In addition, the performance of MSMEs can also be influenced by the application of Islamic business ethics. The main principles in Islamic business ethics include compliance with Islamic law which prohibits the practice of riba (interest), gharar (uncertainty), and maisir (gambling). The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Islamic Financial Literacy and the implementation of Islamic business ethics on the performance of Jambi Typical Batik MSMEs. The research method used is quantitative, with a sample of 30 respondents. The research analysis used is multiple linear regression. The results of the study showed that Islamic Financial Literacy has an influence on the performance of Jambi Typical Batik MSMEs with a significance value of 0.043 <0.05. The application of business ethics has an influence on the performance of Jambi Typical Batik MSMEs with a significance value of 0.002 <0.05. Sharia Financial Literacy and the Implementation of Business Ethics jointly influence the performance of Jambi's Typical Batik MSMEs. The coefficient of determination indicates that Sharia Financial Literacy and the Implementation of Business Ethics can influence the performance of Jambi's Typical Batik MSMEs by 79.4%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interest of the community in Pemenang Barat District in using Islamic banking services. The research employed a qualitative approach with data collected through in-depth interviews with local residents. The findings indicate that the community’s interest is influenced by several key factors, including their level of knowledge regarding Islamic banking principles, prior experiences with sharia-compliant products, the religious values they uphold, and social support from their environment. Furthermore, service accessibility and outreach efforts by Islamic banks also play significant roles in enhancing community interest. Based on these findings, it is expected that Islamic banks will intensify educational initiatives and expand service coverage so that more people will  be  encouraged  to  shift  to  the  Islamic  banking  system.

Abstract

The plantation sector, particularly oil palm, plays a significant role in driving regional economic growth through its contribution to Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). Merlung District in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency is one of the oil palm plantation centers that provides a substantial contribution to the local economy. This study aims to analyze the effect of production, land area, and price on the GRDP of the plantation sub-sector in Merlung District during the period 2018–2024. This research employs a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The data used are secondary quarterly data covering production, land area, fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices, and GRDP values of the plantation sub-sector. Statistical tests include the t-test to assess partial effects, the F-test to examine simultaneous effects, and the coefficient of determination (R²) to measure the explanatory power of the model. The findings reveal that, partially, production has a significant negative effect on GRDP, while land area and FFB prices have significant positive effects. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly influence GRDP, with the calculated F-value exceeding the F-table and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination indicates that production, land area, and price variables explain most of the variation in GRDP in Merlung District. Therefore, this study highlights the importance of optimal land management, sustainable productivity improvement, and price stabilization policies as key strategies to enhance the plantation sub-sector’s contribution to GRDP in Merlung District.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the management of Tebo Regency's Original Regional Income and the factors that cause the decline in Tebo Regency's PAD. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive study type. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation from local government employees, MUI figures, and the community. The collected data are analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model, which includes the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This study concludes that the management of Original Regional Income (PAD) in Tebo Regency has reflected the application of good financial governance principles according to the perspective of Islamic public finance and Mahmudi's theory. This can be seen from the consistency of the application of the principles of justice, efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, accountability, independence, and legal certainty in regional fiscal policy. Although there has been progress, the low PAD is still influenced by the less than optimal utilization of local economic potential, weak quality of the apparatus, low community compliance, and an administration system that has not been integrated. In the Islamic perspective, the practice of managing PAD has also been based on the values of faith, honesty, trustworthiness, tabligh, and intelligence, which reflect moral responsibility to Allah SWT and society. Therefore, increasing PAD in the future requires structural reform, fiscal education, strengthening technology, and broader public participation in order to realize healthy, fair, and sustainable regional finances.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of agricultural land profit-sharing contracts (Mukhabarah) from an Islamic economic perspective, particularly among rice farmers in Tanjung Aur Seberang Village, Serai Serumpun Subdistrict, Tebo Regency. This research is motivated by the traditional land rental practices that have been passed down through generations in the village, although not all of them are well understood in terms of compliance with Islamic principles. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving 13 informants consisting of landowners, tenant farmers, religious figures, and village officials. The results indicate that the Mukhabarah contract is carried out directly between the landowner and the cultivator, both verbally and in writing. Payment is made after harvest, and in the event of crop failure, it can be postponed. This practice is considered in accordance with Islamic economic principles because it fulfills the pillars and requirements of the contract, such as clear object, mutual consent, and lawful purpose. Supporting factors include fertile land and farming skills, while the main obstacle lies in the risk of crop failure. Thus, the implementation of Mukhabarah in this village is not only valid in terms of sharia, but also contributes to the economic sustainability of farmers.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze the influence of Islamic financing on the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pauh District, Sarolangun Regency, with a particular focus on financing provided by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Simpang III Branch. The research employed a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 96 MSME actors as respondents, and the collected data were processed using simple linear regression analysis with SPSS software. The findings indicate that Islamic financing has a positive and significant effect on MSME growth, as evidenced by the regression coefficient value of 0.836, a significance level of less than 0.05, and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.787. This result implies that 78.7% of the variation in MSME growth is influenced by Islamic financing, while the remaining 21.3% is affected by other factors such as managerial quality, market conditions, innovation capacity, and human resource competence. Thus, the hypothesis (H1) is accepted, confirming that Islamic financing significantly contributes to the development and income improvement of MSMEs. Moreover, this finding strengthens the role of Bank Syariah Indonesia not only as a financial institution but also as an agent of community economic empowerment based on sharia principles, which emphasize justice, blessing, and balance in business activities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the economic condition of oil palm farmers during the replanting period and analyze the strategies adopted to meet household needs from an Islamic economic perspective. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed thematically to capture the dynamics of farmers’ livelihoods and the Islamic values embedded in their strategies. The results indicate that farmers experienced a significant income decline. Before replanting, income ranged from IDR 3,700,000–6,500,000 every two weeks, while during replanting it dropped to IDR 0–2,500,000 per month, with households averaging 3–6 members. To cope, farmers adopted various strategies such as reducing expenditures, cultivating secondary crops, opening small shops, working as daily laborers, trading goods, raising livestock, renting vehicles, and utilizing rental houses. From the Islamic perspective, these efforts reflect values such as working hard for halal income, maintaining ethics, practicing qana’ah (contentment), fostering social solidarity, and prioritizing good character.
