Abstract

This study explores the implementation of scientific excursions as a strategy to foster exploratory attitudes in early childhood education. Children at the early developmental stage naturally exhibit curiosity and a desire to explore their surroundings, making hands-on learning experiences essential. Scientific excursions provide opportunities for children to engage with real-life phenomena outside the classroom, allowing them to observe, question, and interact directly with their environment. This qualitative study employs a literature review approach, analyzing previous research and practical applications of outdoor educational activities and exploratory learning. Findings indicate that such excursions enhance cognitive, social, emotional, and motor development, while also promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Teachers play a crucial role in facilitating these experiences, guiding learning while allowing children autonomy in exploration. The study highlights the importance of integrating experiential learning into early childhood education to cultivate lifelong curiosity and an active learning mindset. Implementing scientific excursions systematically can improve the quality and effectiveness of early childhood learning programs.

Abstract

This study examines the role of serial storytelling in enhancing memory and information retention in early childhood. Serial storytelling is a learning method that presents stories continuously, encouraging children to remember, understand, and connect information with prior experiences. This research uses a qualitative approach through library research, reviewing literature on learning strategies, child cognitive psychology, and the implementation of storytelling in early childhood education. The findings indicate that serial storytelling plays several important roles, namely: improving short-term and long-term memory, fostering interest and motivation to learn, enhancing language skills and story comprehension, and stimulating creativity and imagination. When applied appropriately, this method strengthens children's cognitive, social, and emotional skills holistically. Serial storytelling becomes an effective strategy that combines entertainment and learning, allowing children to learn in a fun and continuous manner. This study provides important implications for educators in designing learning activities that stimulate memory, information retention, and optimal child development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the model of literacy habituation and clean living through the character education pillar program implemented at RA Fattahul Huda Pungpungan. Character education is an important aspect of early childhood education to shape attitudes, behavior, and positive values in students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the character education pillar program is implemented through two main activities, namely the literacy pillar and the clean living pillar. The literacy pillar includes activities such as reading storybooks and reading books in the reading corner, which can increase reading interest and help students understand moral values. Meanwhile, the clean living pillar includes activities such as queuing to wash hands and maintaining personal and environmental cleanliness. The activity is carried out routinely as a form of habituation in daily school activities. The implementation of this activity aligns with Thomas Lickona's character education theory, which includes moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. Through continuous habituation, students are able to develop an interest in reading, discipline, responsibility, as well as clean living habits.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the still low ability of letter recognition in children, which is caused by the use of less interesting and rather conventional learning media. This study aims to determine the application of loose parts media in play activities to improve letter recognition in children at TK Dharma Wanita, Gayam Village, Gayam District, Bojonegoro Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects consist of kindergarten group children and classroom teachers as the main informants. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the application of loose parts media in play activities can increase children's involvement in the learning process. Children appear more active, enthusiastic, and creative in arranging various objects into letter shapes. Playing activities using loose parts media also help children understand letter shapes more concretely through direct experiences. Social interaction among children also increases when they cooperate in arranging letters using the available materials.

Abstract

This research is driven by the significance of implementing activity-based learning in early childhood education to foster of children's independence, focus, and concentration, which are essential  foundations for learning readiness at the next level. However, learning practices in early childhood education often remain teacher-centered, so active participation of children has not developed optimally. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the role of activity-based learning in enhancing the independence, focus, and concentration of young children. This research uses a qualitative approach employing a library research design, with utilizing data derived from academic books, national and international scientific journals, and relevant documents related to early childhood learning and activity-based learning. Data was collected through documentation studies and analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify, review, and synthesize various findings from relevant literature. The results of the analysis indicate that activity-based learning encourages children's active engagement through exploration, direct experience, and interaction with teachers, peers, and the learning environment. Activities that are creatively and enjoyably designed not only enhance cognitive abilities but also build learning independence, decision-making skills, problem-solving abilities, as well as self-evaluation. In addition, diverse and interesting activities have been proven to improve children's focus and concentration, while simultaneously developing social-emotional skills such as cooperation, empathy, and self-confidence. The findings of this study provide practical implications for early childhood education teachers in designing learning activities that are more active, engaging, and child-centered, thereby supporting the development of independent character and children's learning readiness optimally from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to examine effective strategies for fostering positive behavior in early childhood by placing the family as the primary microsystem in Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Theory. This study uses a literature review method by analyzing various relevant scientific sources related to the role of the family in shaping early childhood behavior, particularly in the context of interactions within the family microsystem. The results of the review show that the formation of positive behavior in children is influenced by several key factors, namely parental role modeling, structured daily routines, effective communication, positive reinforcement, clear rules, involving children in family activities, and supervision of digital media. All of these strategies form a consistent proximal process so that children are able to internalize moral, social, and emotional values through daily interactions. Role modeling becomes the main foundation for character building, while routines and rules support the development of self-control. Warm communication creates a sense of emotional security, and positive reinforcement increases a child's motivation to repeat good behavior. It can be concluded that the formation of positive behavior in early childhood is the result of ongoing interactions within the family system. The integration of various parenting strategies within the family microsystem creates an ecological environment that supports child development, not as a single process, but as an interrelated and continuous process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of children's curiosity after the implementation of science based pillars in learning activities at RA Fattahul Huda Pungpungan. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a focus on changes in children's behavior before and after using science-based storybooks. The findings indicate that before the intervention, children tended to be passive, asked fewer questions, and had not shown a strong interest in exploratory activities. After using storybooks with science pillars, there was a significant increase in aspects such as active questioning, observation skills, tendency for independent exploration, and the ability to retell simple phenomena found in the stories. Visual and narrative stimuli in the storybooks proved capable of stimulating children's learning motivation and curiosity, thus supporting the development of early science literacy. These findings reinforce the views of Piaget, Vygotsky, and Bruner regarding the importance of visual stimuli, social interaction, and direct experience in developing children's cognitive abilities.
