Abstract

Objective: The post-claim audit by BPJS has prompted Type C Specialist Hospitals to maintain profits through the implementation of Islamic leadership. Methods: The research was conducted in August- September 2024. This research is a case study using a mixed-methods approach. There were 8 informants, determined using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques included interviews, questionnaires, and documents using sequential explanatory analysis. The Director of the Special Type C Hospital has implemented Islamic leadership principles. The majority of respondents (57.1%) agreed with the implementation of Islamic leadership by the director at the hospital. As a result, the majority of respondents (72.1%) agreed that they were motivated to solve problems and that performance had improved. Additionally, respondents strongly agreed (42.9%) that they became more productive in completing medical record tasks or casemix due to the implementation of Islamic leadership, which encourages working more honestly in accordance with regulations. These efforts resulted in a change in profitability in August of - 18.4%, compared to June of -38.1% in 2024. Results: The director of a Type C Specialised Hospital implemented Islamic leadership, which proved to increase employee productivity and encourage them to work more honestly in accordance with regulations. The implementation of these strategies was associated with a decrease in profitability by 18.4% in August, suggesting a potential adverse impact on financial performance during the period. Conclusion: The implementation of Islamic leadership increases productivity, enabling hospitals to maintain their profitability.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and compare the accuracy of the Exponential Smoothing and Moving Average methods in forecasting pharmaceutical logistics needs at BB Hospital. Methods: A quantitative approach with a descriptive- comparative design was used. The data analyzed were monthly pharmaceutical logistics needs over a 12-month period, categorized into solid, liquid, and topical dosage forms. Forecasting was performed using Exponential Smoothing and Moving Average methods. Statistical analysis was conducted using ANOVA and independent t-tests to examine the significance of differences in forecasting accuracy. Results: Both methods showed satisfactory accuracy, as reflected in comparable values of Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD), Mean Squared Error (MSE), and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The ANOVA test revealed a statistically significant difference between the methods (p = 0.000); however, the independent t-test showed a significance value of 0.756, indicating no significant difference in the average forecasting results between the two methods. Conclusion: Both Exponential Smoothing and Moving Average methods are effective for forecasting pharmaceutical logistics needs. Since no significant difference was found in their average forecasting performance, either method can be applied flexibly based on the hospital’s specific requirements. These findings provide practical insights for strategic decision- making in pharmaceutical inventory management.

Abstract

Objective: To identify how healthcare worker performance directly impacts the quality of hospital services and patient outcomes, this study examines the link between job satisfaction and staff performance at RSUD Ende, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. In regions like Ende, healthcare facilities face challenges such as high workloads, insufficient resources, and limited access to professional development, which can negatively affect employee morale, retention, and service quality. According to the Indonesian Audit Board (BPK, 2024), RSUD Ende demonstrates weak planning and monitoring in inpatient services, indicating a need for stronger human resource strategies. While previous studies have explored job satisfaction and performance, few have focused on remote, resource-limited hospitals, particularly in Eastern Indonesia. This study aims to fill that gap by analyzing the impact of job satisfaction on healthcare worker performance to guide hospital leadership and policymakers in creating targeted interventions. Method: This article used a descriptive research design with a cross-sectional approach. The study involved a randomly selected sample of 100 employees from RSUD Ende. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with Likert scale items and analyzed using the Chi-Square non-parametric test. Results: The majority of respondents were female (70%), aged 30–40 years, married (80%), and held a Diploma III degree (70%). Most had 5–10 years of work experience. Overall, job satisfaction levels were rated as “moderately satisfied,” while healthcare worker performance in outpatient care was considered “fairly good.” The findings suggest a significant relationship between job satisfaction and staff performance in a limited-resource hospital setting.

Abstract

Objective: the impact of online services and administrative information on patient satisfaction in Type C and D hospitals in East Java Province, using Google Review ratings as a measure of satisfaction. Methods: This quantitative study employs a descriptive-analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consists of Type C and D hospitals in East Java that have official websites and at least 20 Google Review ratings. Data were collected through content observation of hospital websites and extraction of ratings and comments from Google Reviews. Results: The findings indicate that Google Review ratings do not significantly influence the appearance or content of hospital websites. The success of digital services is more affected by organizational factors, technological aspects, and internal policies that support the implementation and development of information technology. Website design quality and user experience are critical factors in the development of hospital digital services. Conclusion: The study recommends that hospitals enhance website design quality and digital services with strong support from internal policies. Evaluating the effectiveness of digital services should involve more objective and comprehensive indicators to better improve patient satisfaction in the current digital era.

Abstract

Objective: To identify the effect of hospital accredition on improving service quality and patient safety. Methods: This journal uses a literature review methodology, using articles from PubMed and Google Scholar databases related to hospital accreditation. The journal criteria used were journals published in the last 15 years, namely 2009-2024. Results: In general, several journals explain that accreditation has a positive effect on service quality and patient safety. The quality of health services is very important for the overall quality of health. The quality of health services is reflected in its form, appearance, performance, function, and aesthetics. However, it is still necessary to conduct regular evaluations and the role of all hospital staff so that the quality of health is still achieved. Conclusion: Hospital accreditation has a significant impact on service quality and patient safety so that health quality will be maintained. Periodic assessments are carried out because the quality of service is not only influenced by accreditation but also by several other variables, which require a plan to maintain or improve the level of health care performance.

Abstract

Objective: Comprehensive researches regarding the effect of the component of brand equity on Social Media Marketing Activities (SMMA) and purchase intention are lacking. This study provides an integrated analysis of those variables on SMMA and purchase intention. Furthermore, this study expands the concept of SMMA by means of incorporating advertisement and perceived risk analyses to the concept. Methods: This study employs an explanatory research design. The research utilizes a cross-sectional data approach. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire survey using a Likert scale for measurement. The study population consists of all inpatients who meet the inclusion criteria. The sampling technique applied was purposive sampling across various inpatient room categories, including Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, VIP, Suite Room, and President Suite. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4 software. Results: This study found the following: SMMA had a significant effect on brand equity with r square value 0,656, p <0.05 and purchase intention with r square value 0.631, p<0.05. Brand equity neither significantly affected purchase intention with r square value 0.003, p = 0.528 nor mediated SMMA and purchase intention p=0.544. Conclusion: Respondent characteristics have a significant influence on the variables examined. Consequently, social media marketing can be considered to have a stronger impact on respondents' decision-making compared to brand equity in the context of a hospital. Brand equity is not able to serve as a mediating variable between SMMA and Purchase Intention.
