Abstract

The development of physical education and school sport needs to be maintained. One of the develoment is to focus on the teaching process through methodic in physical education. Physical education programs should be self driven on the students motor deelopment which is able to bring/ uquip them as a qualified final motor, that is by using games approach. This means that it is not only thorugh a movement but also includes social, affective, and cognitif dimension. Abstract

Athletic Subject Physical Education and Health is subject owning to have double role. Not even play a part in to develop aspect fitness of bodily, but also develop ability of motion and skilled of child social able to be made by stock in associating with positively with friends coeval him, in the environment of or in broader society environment. Elaborated Athletic Physical Education subject and Health, child can develop the hobby and talent at selected athletic branch so that can reach proud achievement and can bring the name of school fragrance, family, society and his nation. Besides, child also will grow and expand in an optimal fashion well-balanced but among/between physical and psychical, so that child will become router generation which with quality and made ready to become exponent for progress and feather in ones cap of nation later. Becoming duty of Atlitic Physical Education and Health teachers in Elementary School to realize the mentioned. Because if this matter succeed to be realized, will be able to prove in other teacher eye specially in Elementary School that Athletic Physical Education subject and Health is subject which is competent to be reckoned for the preparation of smart future generation, skilled, ad for godfearing august ethic and also to God Which Is Single The Most. Abstract

The need for physical fitness for each individual is different. This difference is usually influenced by the job type of each individual. For post secondary students, physical fitness is important to support learning, attending classes, or doing other activities. That is why every student is expected to have a good fitness in order to support their learning related activities. An individual has a good physical fitness if he or she meets good level according to certain parameter. One of the parameter is Asian Committee on the Standardization of Physical Fitness Test (A.C.S.P.F.T.) for university students which include seven type of test. The results showed that the fitness status of students at D II Elementary School Teacher Education were mostly fitness (98,12%), and only small number of them are not physically fitness (1,88%). In details, their physical fitness could be categorized as follow: very good (26,42%), good (45,28%), medium (26,42%), and low (1,88%). When this description was characterized by gender, the categorization would be as follow: male students were very good (26,19%), good (48,81%), medium (23,81%), and low (1,19%). While female students were very good (27,27%), good (31,82%), medium (36,36%), and low (4,55%). Most of the students body mass index were normal (83,02%) and only a small number of the students were not normal (16,98%). In more details, the body mass index were fat (6,60%), normal (83,02%), lack of nutrition I (8,50%), lack of nutrition II (0,94%) and lack of nutrition (0,94%). Based on the gender, body mass index of male students were (3,57%), normal (86,90%), lack of nutrition I (9,57%), none of them in the category of lack of nutrition II dan III. While body mass index female students were fat (18,18%), normal (68,17%), lack of nutrition I (4,55%), lack of nutrition II (4,55%), and lack of nutrition III (4,55%). Abstract

The aims of this research and development was to produce a learning software in the form of Compact Disc (CD) for a course namely school health education. This interactive CD was expected to be used for dealing with the limitation of learning resources and to help students in understanding the course materials, improving apreciation, motivation, and independencies. This research is research and development. The method employed in this research was descriptive procedural by which the development of the product follows the supposed procedures to produce a product. There were three basic steps that should be taken by the developer; they were problem conceptualization, product making, and product trial. The population of this research was students at semester 3 Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Program of Study at UNY taking School Health Education Class. This research employed descriptive statistics in analyzing the data. The final result of this research was an interactive CD that could be used for teaching and learning in School Health Education class. The contents developed in the CD were (1) youth health reproduction, (2) healthy environment, (3) healthy lifestyle and the effects of smoking, drinking, and abusing drug, (4) healthy eating behavior and balanced menu concept. Abstract

The gymnastic teaching at Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Study Program, UNY had been dominated by command and tasking approach. As a result, the expected goals were not effective so that there was a need to inovate learning model. This research aimed at improving advanced gymnastic learning process using resiprocal and inclusion approach. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR). A number of 62 students taking gymnastic class in 2001/2002 were participated in this research. It employed observation sheets resiprocal and inklusion teaching style and questionaire to investigate students voice. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics. Abstract

Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) as a taching model now is getting well-known internationally. As a new emerging idea, TGfU evolves in agreement and disagreement. An inovation needs supporters and inovation agents. In specific purpose to introduce TGfU for teachers and prospectus PE teachers, the efforts need to be done in step by step on the agencies such as teachers, principals, students teachers, researchers, experts, and programs at teacher education institutions. Abstract

For the last two decades the teaching games for understanding (TGFU) approach has caused considerable debate in games teaching. The TGFU focuses upon teaching students tactical understanding before dealing with the performance of skills, as such the TGFU offers a tactical approach to games teaching emphasizing game performance before skill performance. The aim of a tactical approach is to improve students game performance, which involves combining tactical awareness and skill execution. Tactical awareness, critical to game performance, is the ability to identify tactical problems that arises during a game and to select the appropriate responses to solve them. In tactical approach, students are placed in a game situation that emphasizes maintaining possesion before identifying and practicing passing, ball control, or support as solution to the problem. Abstract

This research covers efforts in improving physical education learning process for 4th grader based on competence based curriculum. The problems to be solved are 1) ineffective time consumtion, (2) lack of facilities and equipment including site limits, (3) the needs for better understanding and interpretation on the learning contents which is in line with Competence- Based Curriculum (CBC), (4) the affective aspects either from teachers or students is one of the impoertant factors for the succesful PE learning. This research is a classroom action research involving two cycles. The research took place in at the Faculty of Sports Science, Yogyakarta State University, once per week from July to September 2005-2006. A number of 34 students were participated. They were at the 4th grade consisting of 16 boys and 18 girls. The action of the research is teaching PE using Curriculum 2004 employing CBC. The contents consisted of basic movements in PE, gymnastics, and traditional games. It took 50 minutes every single unit teaching learning. The results showed that there was improvement on the effectiveness of learning process, on the students motivation, and also students physical fitness. Abstract

This article discusses Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) model, particularly on the striking and fielding classification. It begins with the meaning of striking/fielding games, which includes attacking activities by striking, batting, kicking, or hitting the ball, and also such activities as catching and throwing the ball as a result of the hitting, striking, or kicking. Another name of this game is run-scoring games, which means a game done by running in order to score. Furthermore, this article also presents the components which are noteworthy in the teaching and learning striking/fielding games. The games that can be classified as striking/ fielding games are softball, baseball, rounder, cricket, kickball, and kasti. This article focuses more on softball rather than other striking/fielding games. The reference in teaching softball is in line with striking/fielding games teaching framework covering the tactical problems and the level. Teaching model for softball should closely pay attention on these tactical problems, which are: scoring and also levels of complexity, from simple to more complex, to the real game. Abstract

Games are one of the physical education contents. Invasion games such as soccer-like and basketball- like games are the materials taught at elementary level. The learning process of invasion games can be done through various approaches. Tactical approach is one of approaches in teaching invasion games. Tactical approach is an approach emphasizing on the games and skill learning in game situation. Tactical awareness and problem solving in the games is the key in the tactical approach. The steps in invasion games teaching using the tactical approach are; (1) game form, (2) tactical awareness (what to do), (3) skill execution (how to do). Teaching invasion games need to be based in the framework and the levels of complexities of the games which have previously been determined. Games learning through tactical approach encourage and demand students to solve tactical problems in the games. Kata Kunci: Pendekatan Taktik, Pembelajaran Invasion Games, Sekolah Dasar.
