Abstract

This paper based on the understanding that sport must be introduced atearly stage in the childhood, in order to give better understanding about the philosophyof the game from the early stage.Softball for instance, it never been a popular sport. The reasons are the lackunderstanding about this sport, not to mention the gadget and equipment are expensiveto acquire. Indonesian people more accustomed to play a similar game called kasti.Student at elementary school played this game frequently.The writer wished to modify the softball and kasti games. This game will use the kastigadget and equipment but adapt the softball rule of play.Kata Kunci: Modifikasi, Permainan Kasti, Permainan Softball.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to reveal a description on the participants understanding of teaching learning process in elementary physical education on the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. They were the participants of training for classroom/ religion teachers in Yogyakarta Special Province. The population was 80 classroom/ religion teachers who participated in the training of 2005. The sample was 60 teachers taken by purposive sampling procedures. This research employed descriptive approach using questionnaire as the data collection technique. The results showed that for cognitive aspect, it was 91, 67% of cognitive aspect categorized as high, 8,33% as medium, and 0% as low. It was 6,7 %of affective aspect categorized as high, 5 % as medium, and 18,33 % as low. It was 63,33% of psychomotor aspect categorized as high, 36,67% as medium, and 0% as low. The total of those three aspects showed that the understanding of the training participants were 43,33% included as high category, 56,67% included as medium category, and 0% included as low category. Abstract

AbstractThis study has the objective to find a map of the participation of high school physical education teacher of the sport of softball in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This study is a descriptive type of research with survey methods. Respondents were high school physical education teacher and equal in Yogyakarta as many as 98 people, which is obtained through purposive cluster sampling. The research instrument used was questionnaire made by the participation of researchers, consisting of 13 structured items and unstructured questions. Data collection techniques by approaching each respondent and take it back. Analysis of the data that is used is to use percentages or called percentage correction. The results showed that the physical education teacher is a human resources that could be involved in sports coaching softball, and yet their knowledge and understanding only in part to the involvement of small use, so it already has the capital to participation but have not been able to be maximized becomes an active participation in coaching softball at DIY. Physical education teacher is only a small part that gives information about the sport of softball to the students, so the possibility that students can be involved in the sport of softball. They do not understand the softball games or learning, that learning the game not have to play softball softball itself. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan metode survey. Responden adalah guru pendidikan jasmani SMA dan sederajat di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta sebanyak 98 orang, yang diperoleh melalui purposive cluster sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket partisipasi yang dibuat sendiri oleh peneliti, yang terdiri dari 13 butir pertanyaan tersetruktur dan tidak terstruktur. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara mendatangi setiap responden dan mengambilnya kembali. Analisis data menggunakan. Analisis data yang dipergunakan adalah dengan penggunaan persentase atau disebut procentage correction. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahwa guru pendidikan jasmani merupakan sumber daya manusia yang dapat dilibatkan dalam pembinaan olahraga softball, namun demikian pengetahuan dan pemahaman mereka hanya sebagaian kecil digunakan pada keterlibatan, sehingga modal untuk partisipasi sudah dimiliki tetapi belum mampu dimaksimalkan menjadi partisipasi yang aktif dalam pembinaan softball di DIY. Guru pendidikan jasmani tersebut hanya sebagian kecil yang memberikan informasi tentang olahraga softball kepada para siswa, sehingga menutup kemungkinan siswa dapat terlibat dalam olahraga softball. Mereka belum memahami pembelajaran permaianan softball, bahwa pembelajaran permainan softball tidak harus bermain softball itu sendiri. Abstract

Gender equivalence gives opportunity to woman to compete in work withman. That is still conducted up to the grade of managing the family, so that they are asparents still having some times for much more different outdoors activities. As itsconsequences, they have a different style of nursing children. Based on the statementthat ideal education ought to be done by parents themselves in the family, whereas inthe family there are different patterns in taking care of children, thereby the writermeans to study the parents’ role as educators in family, which is focused in physicaleducation.The physical education in family represents the condition or situation that has to becreated or has to be done. To realize the activity, there are three elements required,that are: doer, time, and location or place. Parents’ role of creating the physical educationin the family’s environment present in their willing to provide times and to chooselocations for the continuity of forms of the physical education activity.Keyword: Physical education, children of early ages, family

Abstract

This article discusses Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) model, particularly on the striking and fielding classification. It begins with the meaning of striking/fielding games, which includes attacking activities by striking, batting, kicking, or hitting the ball, and also such activities as catching and throwing the ball as a result of the hitting, striking, or kicking. Another name of this game is run-scoring games, which means a game done by running in order to score. Furthermore, this article also presents the components which are noteworthy in the teaching and learning striking/fielding games. The games that can be classified as striking/ fielding games are softball, baseball, rounder, cricket, kickball, and kasti. This article focuses more on softball rather than other striking/fielding games. The reference in teaching softball is in line with striking/fielding games teaching framework covering the tactical problems and the level. Teaching model for softball should closely pay attention on these tactical problems, which are: scoring and also levels of complexity, from simple to more complex, to the real game. Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mencoba mengupas tentang model pembelajaran yang dapat mencapai tujuan pendidikan jasmani secara menyeluruh, mulai dari perkembangan fisik, gerak, mental sampai perkembangan sosial. Hal tersebut didasari, pertama oleh kenyataan keterlantaran pendidikan jasmani di negeri ini, mulai dari belum terpenuhi kebutuhan guru pendidikan jasmani sampai pada pemenuhan kebutuhan sarana dan prasarana. Kedua oleh muatan sekolah yang lebih dominant pada school knowledge daripada everyday knowledge. Oleh sebab itu perlu digunakan model pendidikan jasmani yang dapat memenuhi muatan action knowledge dengan memanfaatkan sarana dan prasarana yang ada. Berangkat dari pemikiran bahwa sekolah adalah kehidupan itu sendiri, maka model pendidikan jasmani harus mencerminkan pada kehidupan sehari-hari. Kehidupan sendiri merupakan kompetisi bagi manusia, oleh sebab itu dapat diciptakan model pendidikan jasmani berbasis kompetisi, yaitu dengan menerapkan kompetisi terhadap cabang olahraga di lingkungan sekolah. Melalui kompetisi tersebut, peserta didik diharapkan dapat terlibat langsung dalam beberapa aspek yang berhubungan dengan kompetisi olahraga, selayaknya kompetisi olahraga di masyarakat umum. Model pendidikan jasmani berbasis kompetisi berasal dari siswa, oleh siswa dan untuk siswa. Siswa selakau peserta didik memiliki kebebasan memilih peran masing-masing, seperti dalam kehidupan yang sesungguhnya, di mana manusia harus menentukan peran masing-masing. Peserta didik harus mampu belajar dengan sendirinya, tidak harsu bergantung pada guru (self directed learning) melalui pengalaman dan tindakannya. Abstract

Fenomena SSB sudah berkembang di Indonesia sejak awal tahun 1950,ketika almarhum Joel Lambert mendirikan Menteng Boys Football Associations(MBFA). Kini SSB sudah banyak berkembang di seluruh pelosok nusantara, yangpasti SSB sangat mudah ditemukan di setiap kota.Unsur pokok yang terdapat dalam proses belajar mengajar motorik, termasukpelatihan, adalah: (1) guru atau pelatih yang lebih berpengetahuan, berpengalaman,dan terampil, (2) siswa atau atlet yang sedang berkembang, (3) informasi atauketerampilan yang disampaikan, (4) saluran atau metode penyampaian informasiatau keterampilan, dan (5) respon atau perubahan perilaku pada siswa atau atlet.Pengembangan kriteria tentang pembelajaran gerak pada pelatihan SSB harusdikaitkan dengan unsur pokok dalam proses pelatihan, yaitu: unsur yang terlibatdalam pelatihan meliputi kesiapan pelatih, peran pelatih, kesiapan siswa, peransiswa, kelengkapan fasilitas dan alat, dan penggunaan fasilitas dan alat; unsurkepelatihan yang diterapkan dalam pelatihan meliputi penerapan aspek latihan,penerapan prinsip latihan, dan penerapan metode latihan; dan unsur prestasimeliputi prestasi secara tim, dan secara perorangan.Kata kunci: Kriteria, Pembelajaran gerak, Sekolah Sepakbola.

Abstract

The current research aimed at investigating physical education teachers’ experiences in practicing inclusive physical education and the meaning they attached to those experiences. The study focused on the thematic analysis of participants’ experiences represented in the collected qualitative data. A number of 12 physical education teachers participated in in-depth interviews and photo elicitation interviews. Verbatim transcripts were obtained from all interviews for subsequent analysis. Using the tenets of thematic analysis (Braun Clarke, 2006, 2019, 2021), analysis included familiarization with the data, open coding, theme construction, theme review, theme naming, and report production. The analysis process yielded four themes of teachers’ experiences including (1) the roles of background knowledge and skills, (2) teaching various types of disabilities, (3) inclusive pedagogy approaches, (3) facilitators and barriers to teaching inclusive physical education. The meaning of the experiences were the meaning of inclusion, inclusive physical education, and inclusive physical education teaching. We conclude that experience is important in delivering inclusive PE, especially with regard to teachers’ development in the area of pedagogical knowledge and skills as well as dealing with challenges in their teaching approaches. Along with this experience is the meaning of teaching inclusive PE which reflected in-depth engagement with this caring profession.

Abstract

The values in sport settings have long been discussed in the literature, including the ones in the context of badminton. Despite there have been many leadership values in the literature, there is no explicit leadership value coming from research in badminton. Therefore, the purpose of the current study was to investigate the values of leadership being learned from the badminton game and develop value products through Research and Development. The research method used was a mixed method. Participants of the study included 7 former badminton players having leadership positions and 122 students in physical education teacher education program. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and survey. The results of these interviews were then interpreted, reduced, and given codes so that the values of leadership in badminton were obtained converging. The results of the research on leadership values in badminton games included (1) knowing the boundaries of territory (2) realizing the limits of authority (3) working together (4) obeying rules (5) keeping secrets (6) depth of knowledge (7) elegant decisions (8) obeying superiors (9) act with heart. The value products have been implemented and measured their effectiveness. It concludes that badminton provides opportunities to learn and develop leadership competencies. The value products are effective as a model for teaching leadership through badminton.
