Abstract

This research explores how customers of Bank Nagari Sharia perceive and respond to the use of Super App Ollin in Islamic digital banking services. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied through semi-structured interviews with 30 active users selected using purposive sampling. Interview data were analyzed using thematic and sentiment analysis with NVivo 15 software. The thematic analysis identified four dominant factors influencing customer acceptance: technology readiness, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and trust.  The findings indicate that perceived usefulness and trust emerged as dominant themes shaping customer acceptance. Sentiment analysis revealed that positive sentiment dominated participant responses, mainly related to transaction convenience, efficiency, accessibility, and the availability of sharia banking features. Negative sentiment appeared less frequently and was primarily associated with login failures, delayed transactions, application lag, and concerns regarding digital security. The study suggests that the development of Islamic digital banking services should focus not only on technological innovation and efficiency but also on system reliability, cybersecurity, and customer trust. The findings further indicate that sharia compliance and institutional credibility remain important factors influencing customer acceptance of Islamic digital banking applications.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing trend of impulsive buying behavior among university students, driven by the development of TikTok features such as live streaming shopping and the FYP algorithm, which encourage spontaneous consumption. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of live streaming shopping and the FYP algorithm on impulsive buying and to examine the role of Islamic financial literacy as a moderating variable among FEBI UIN North Sumatra students. This research uses a quantitative approach with an associative method through questionnaires distributed to 103 respondents and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results show that live streaming shopping and the FYP algorithm have a positive and significant effect on impulsive buying, while Islamic financial literacy has a negative and significant effect. However, Islamic financial literacy does not act as a moderating variable. In conclusion, although students possess Islamic financial literacy, the influence of TikTok features remains strong in driving impulsive purchasing behavior.

Abstract

Risk credit behavior among students has emerged as a growing concern due to increasing financial accessibility and consumption-oriented lifestyles. This study aims to analyze the effect of present bias and self-control on risk credit behavior, with peer influence as a mediating variable. This research adopted a quantitative approach involving 110 students from the Faculty of Economics at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and utilized PLS-SEM with SmartPLS for data analysis. The findings indicate that present bias and self-control have positive but insignificant effects on risk credit behavior, while both exert a positive and significant effects on peer influence. Peer influence also has a positive and significant effect on risk credit behavior and significantly mediated the relationship between present bias, self-control, and risk credit behavior. These findings contribute to Social Cognitive Theory by demonstrating that peer influence mediates the effects of present bias and self-control on risk credit behavior, highlighting the importance of integrating psychological and social factors in explaining students' financial behavior.

Abstract

The rapid growth of buy-now, pay-later services has made it easier for students to access digital credit. However, few studies have examined how this affects financial stability, particularly among SPayLater users in Islamic economics education. This study examines how social pressure and lifestyle affect the financial stability of students in the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra who use SPayLater services. We gathered data through a quantitative survey of 100 respondents chosen through purposive sampling and analyzed it using SmartPLS 4. The results show that lifestyle negatively affects financial stability (β = -0.427; p = 0.000). Social pressure also harms financial stability (β = -0.277; p = 0.001). This study's originality lies in its focus on financial stability as the primary outcome. It examines students' financial behavior through the lenses of behavioral finance and Islamic consumption ethics.

Abstract

This article assesses the influence of Shari’ah Supervisory Board (SSB) characteristics on risk-taking behavior in Islamic insurance companies in Indonesia. Specifically, this study analyzes the influence of financial expertise and doctoral educational background of SSB on underwriting risk as a proxy for risk-taking behavior. The study uses panel data from 15 Islamic insurance companies during the period 2014–2024 with a total of 113 observations and analyzed using a Random Effects Model (REM). The results show that financial expertise and doctoral educational background of SSB do not significantly influence underwriting risk. This finding indicates that underwriting risk is more influenced by operational, actuarial, and market conditions than SSB characteristics. The novelty of this study lies in examining the relationship between SSB characteristics and underwriting risk in the Islamic insurance sector, which is still relatively limited compared to the Islamic banking sector. Practically, the results emphasize the importance of strengthening the integration between Shari’ah governance and operational risk management to support more prudent underwriting practices.

Abstract

Sustainable Entrepreneurship Education (SEE) plays a crucial role in preparing students to address sustainability challenges. However, existing research remains fragmented and focuses on specific aspects, thus failing to provide a comprehensive understanding of how various elements in higher education can collectively foster a green entrepreneurial mindset. This study aims to map and synthesize the literature on SEE in higher education through a scoping review approach. The review process followed the framework by Arksey and O’Malley as well as the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. A total of 51 articles were identified from the Scopus, ScienceDirect, and ERIC databases. Following a screening process and eligibility assessment based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, 12 articles were selected for analysis. The results of the study reveal four main dimensions of SEE: sustainability-based curriculum integration, experiential learning, institutional and ecosystem support, and technology-based entrepreneurship. These four dimensions contribute to shaping a green entrepreneurial mindset through increased sustainability awareness, critical thinking skills, entrepreneurial competencies, and sustainable entrepreneurial intent. This study offers a novel perspective by viewing SEE as an integrated educational system and provides practical implications for higher education institutions in designing sustainable entrepreneurship programs that support the achievement of the SDGs
