Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of online reviews on college Instagram comments on prospective students’ decision- making processes through the integration of the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) and Engel-Kollat-Blackwell (EKB) with an implicit issue: the low number of comments on Instagram posts is often viewed merely as a technical weakness in promotion, whereas this condition can influence digital persuasion mechanisms. The research gap lies in the limited number of studies specifically examining prospective students’ decisions within the context of low comment engagement, while the novelty of this study positions the low number of comments as a theoretical context that drives a shift from peripheral cues toward central processing. The research sample consisted of 250 respondents, comprising potential prospective students and followers of the official IIB Darmajaya Instagram account, selected via purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using SEM-PLS with the assistance of SmartPLS 3.0. The results indicate that perceived information and review credibility have a significant positive effect on trust; trust has a positive effect on attitude; attitude has a positive effect on intention; and intention has a positive effect on deciding on a university. Conversely, low comment engagement was found to negatively moderate all primary relationships, thereby weakening the decision-making process. Theoretically, this study expands the ELM and enriches the EKB within the context of digital higher education marketing. Practically, these results underscore the importance of informative, credible content and active comment interaction

Abstract

This paper proposes a hybrid Artificial Intelligence–Genetic Algorithm–Deep Q-Network (AI–GA–DQN) control framework for inverter systems to minimize harmonic distortion and enhance dynamic voltage regulation. A mathematical state-space model incorporating harmonic dynamics is formulated, and a hybrid optimization approach is applied to adaptively tune modulation indices and switching parameters. The GA provides global parameter optimization, while DQN enables reinforcement learning-based adaptation under variable load conditions. MATLAB/Simulink simulations show that the proposed controller achieves a 75.6% reduction in Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), improves power factor to 0.995, and enhances system efficiency to 97.8%, compared with conventional PWM and GA-only controllers. The results confirm the effectiveness of the AI–GA–DQN strategy in achieving real-time harmonic suppression and superior transient performance in intelligent power converters.

Abstract

Flat slab reinforced concrete systems are widely used in building construction due to their architectural efficiency and construction simplicity, but their reduced lateral stiffness and lack of beam elements increase seismic vulnerability, particularly in high seismic regions such as Indonesia. This study evaluates the seismic fragility performance of flat slab structures with and without drop panels subjected to multiple Indonesian seismic hazard regions, including Medan, Bandar Lampung, Yogyakarta, and Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), with seismic demand defined based on the Indonesian Seismic Hazard Map developed by the National Center for Earthquake Studies (PUSGEN). A nonlinear static pushover analysis is employed to simulate inelastic structural response, including capacity curves, stiffness degradation, plastic hinge progression, and inter-story drift demand, followed by probabilistic fragility assessment using a lognormal distribution to estimate the probability of exceeding damage states (Slight, Moderate, Extensive, and Collapse). The results indicate that the incorporation of drop panels significantly enhances seismic performance by increasing lateral stiffness, delaying stiffness degradation, and reducing deformation concentration at slab-column connections, resulting in lower inter-story drift ratios and improved ductility compared to systems without drop panels. Fragility curves show a consistent shift toward higher spectral displacement capacity, indicating reduced probability of damage exceedance, while structures without drop panels exhibit earlier nonlinear deterioration and higher collapse vulnerability, particularly in high seismic regions such as Yogyakarta and NTT. The study concludes that drop panels are an effective structural enhancement to improve seismic resilience and reduce collapse risk in flat slab buildings in Indonesian earthquake-prone regions.

Abstract

This study focuses on the design and implementation of a Cuk Converter integrated with a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller to maintain voltage stability in auxiliary loads of an inspection train. The auxiliary system relies on battery power, whose output voltage tends to fluctuate depending on operating conditions, potentially affecting system reliability. To address this issue, a DC-DC converter with closed-loop control is proposed. The system was designed using a Cuk Converter topology, while the PID controller parameters were tuned using the Ziegler–Nichols method, resulting in Kp = 0.0015, Ki = 3.05, and Kd = 1.84×10⁻⁷. Simulation results show that the proposed system is capable of maintaining a stable output voltage of 24 V under various input voltage conditions (38.4 V, 48 V, and 55.2 V) and load variations (50 W to 250 W).The system achieves a rise time in the range of 0.0077–0.0099 s, overshoot between 0.08%–0.25%, settling time of 0.011–0.013 s, and steady-state error of 0%. Compared to the open-loop system, the PID-controlled system significantly improves voltage stability and dynamic response. These results indicate that the proposed method effectively enhances voltage regulation performance and system reliability in railway auxiliary applications.

Abstract

This paper presents the design, implementation, and experimental validation of a low-cost Internet-of-Things (IoT) gateway for real-time power quality (PQ) monitoring of industrial distribution panels. The proposed system acquires electrical parameters—phase voltages, line current, active power, and energy consumption—from commercially available powermeters (Schneider Electric PM5560 and Siemens SMART 7KT) via the Modbus RTU protocol over RS-485 serial links. An ESP32 DevKit V4 microcontroller serves as the gateway node, forwarding sensor data to the Google Firebase Realtime Database over Wi-Fi using the HTTPS protocol. A modular PHP-based web dashboard visualises the live and historical PQ data, generates automated daily email reports through a server-side cron job, and issues alarm notifications within 8 s of threshold exceedance. The gateway is positioned as a retrofit enabler for medium-voltage (MV) feeders that supply sustainable transportation infrastructure such as electric-vehicle chargers and urban-rail substations. Experimental validation on a live 20 kV MV distribution panel confirms a measurement accuracy of 99% relative to the Class 0.5S powermeter reference across all voltage channels. The dashboard data refresh latency is 5 s, and the Firebase Realtime Database synchronisation rate reaches 114 allowed transactions per monitoring session without data loss. The complete gateway hardware cost is under USD 4, making the approach economically viable for retrofitting legacy industrial monitoring installations

Abstract

The increasing use of household electronic devices has significantly contributed to higher electricity consumption, creating a need for monitoring systems capable of providing efficient and real-time energy usage information. This study aims to examine the development of Internet of Things (IoT) applications in household electricity consumption monitoring through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The review was conducted using the PRISMA framework, with data collected from open-access articles indexed in Google Scholar published between 2020 and 2026. After the selection process, 17 articles were identified and analyzed based on hardware components, monitoring sensors, communication protocols, and monitoring platforms. The findings indicate that ESP32 and NodeMCU are the most widely utilized microcontrollers due to their low implementation cost and integrated WiFi connectivity. In addition, PZEM-004T and SCT-013 sensors are frequently employed to measure current, voltage, power, and real-time electricity consumption. MQTT, Blynk, and Firebase were also found to be the most commonly used platforms because they support responsive data visualization and remote monitoring features. Overall, IoT-based monitoring systems have demonstrated their potential to improve household energy efficiency while supporting the development of adaptive and sustainable smart home technologies

Abstract

The current government of Greater Malang continues to work hard to balance the density of land transport traffic to create better traffic flow and still encourage and improve its economy. Moreover, in recent years, INRIX has rated Malang as the third most congested city in Indonesia after Jakarta and Bandung. This study aims to identify factors and potential points of congestion on complex roads in the research object area. The research methodology uses literature studies, spatial databases, and data collection techniques by conducting surveys at each point of the research location with annual average daily traffic (AADT) for a month. The research location is on the arterial road in the city of Malang. The road network system is variable to analyze using the IFN methodology; the working concept of the Ideal Flow Network (IFN) method uses pre-magic equilibrium as an ideal pattern, where all roads will have the same ideally congestion level. This study provides an alternative solution to overcoming congestion and determining when and where the congestion will occur in the city of Malang. Based on the analysis results, it is concluded that the smallest weighting of traffic volume is founded in alternative route three at each node, value of the degree of saturation is 1.48; 0.74; 0.62; 0.49; 0.37; 0.24; 0.12. Then the value of the degree of saturation at each node is smaller so that the traffic flow becomes smoother.

Abstract

Urban flood control construction in densely populated corridors generates substantial but frequently unassessed traffic disruptions, particularly where road network capacity margins are already constrained prior to construction commencement. This study assesses the traffic impacts of the National Urban Flood Resilience Project (NUFReP) Badera River flood control construction works in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, and formulates stage-specific traffic management and engineering (MRLL) measures to maintain safe and orderly traffic flow throughout the construction period. A three-scenario comparative framework — Do-Nothing Without Construction, Do-Nothing With Construction, and Do-Something With Construction — was applied to six affected road segments and one unsignalized intersection using the Indonesian Road Capacity Guideline (PKJI 2023), based on classified traffic volume, spot speed, and road geometry data collected through field surveys in August 2025. Results indicate that existing network performance is predominantly at Level of Service B, with two segments already at LOS C under baseline conditions. Construction activities are projected to degrade Jl. Kapten Sumarsono / Asrama from LOS C to LOS D under unmitigated conditions, while the Toll Helvetia Gate intersection approaches but does not exceed the PKJI 2023 capacity threshold of DS = 0.85. The proposed MRLL measures — comprising restricted material transport hours, traffic officer deployment, temporary signage, and staged public notification — restored LOS to baseline or better on four of six affected segments. Residual impacts on two segments are manageable through supplementary afternoon-period construction scheduling restrictions, confirming overall network resilience under the proposed mitigation framework.

Abstract

The concept of smart buildings has evolved from a technology- and energy-efficiency-oriented approach toward a human-centered paradigm that emphasizes occupants’ well-being, comfort, health, and productivity. However, previous studies have primarily focused on technical performance and energy efficiency, with limited investigation of the integrated relationships among Smart Building Environment (SBE), Well-Being, and Productivity, particularly in Indonesia. This study aims to examine these relationships using a quantitative explanatory approach. Data were collected through a cross-sectional survey of office building users in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), Indonesia, and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with a Higher-Order Construct (HOC) framework and a disjoint two-stage approach. The results indicate that Smart Building Environment has a significant positive effect on Well-Being (β = 0.879, p < 0.001) and Productivity (β = 0.307, p = 0.001). Well-Being also significantly influences Productivity (β = 0.577, p < 0.001). Furthermore, Well-Being partially mediates the relationship between Smart Building Environment and Productivity through a complementary mediation mechanism (β = 0.507, p < 0.001). The model demonstrates strong explanatory power, explaining 77.3% of the variance in Well-Being (R² = 0.773) and 74.0% of the variance in Productivity (R² = 0.740). These findings confirm that smart buildings create value not only through technological efficiency but also by enhancing occupants’ well-being, which ultimately improves productivity.

Abstract

Flooding remains one of the most destructive natural hazards worldwide, causing substantial damage to infrastructure, economic activities, and public safety. Developing an adaptive floodgate control system is therefore essential to improve flood mitigation under dynamic hydrological conditions. This study proposes and evaluates a three-input Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) for intelligent floodgate operation using water level, rainfall intensity, and water flow rate as input variables. The proposeds controller was implemented in the MATLAB R2024a Fuzzy Logic Toolbox using triangular membership functions, a rule base consisting of 27 fuzzy IF–THEN rules, and the Centroid of Area (CoA) defuzzification method. The controller performance was evaluated through twenty representative simulation scenarios using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Output Category Agreement as quantitative evaluation metrics. The reference output values were established from expert-defined floodgate operating categories represented by the designed fuzzy rule base. The simulation results produced an RMSE of 2.1284 and an MAE of 1.2820, while all evaluated scenarios achieved 100% Output Category Agreement, indicating consistent classification of floodgate opening levels. Furthermore, surface response analysis confirmed smooth and continuous controller behavior under different combinations of hydrological input variables. Although the proposed controller was evaluated exclusively through MATLAB-based simulations, the obtained results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed Mamdani FIS for adaptive floodgate control and provide a foundation for future validation using real-world hydrological data.
