Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation strategies and the level of effectiveness of the School Literacy Program (SLP) in improving students’ reading interest at SMK Negeri 1 Mempawah Hilir. The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results indicate that the School Literacy Program is designed in a contextual and adaptive manner in accordance with the characteristics of vocational high school students. The main strategies implemented include a 15-minute reading habit before class, literacy journal writing, reading discussions, and the provision of reading corners in each classroom. The implementation of these strategies has been shown to increase students’ active participation, reading independence, positive attitudes toward literacy, and their ability to produce written works such as short stories and poetry. However, the program’s effectiveness has not yet been optimal, as some students are still not fully engaged. The novelty of this study lies in revealing a contextual-adaptive literacy implementation model in the vocational school setting, which integrates habituation, reflection, and creative production as a unified strategy to enhance students’ reading interest.

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed the educational landscape, particularly in how students access, process, and disseminate information in digital environments. This study aims to examine the integration of Qur’anic ethical principles in fostering responsible digital literacy among Muslim students in the era of artificial intelligence. It focuses on key Qur’anic concepts such as tabayyun (verification of information), ethical communication, and responsibility in knowledge acquisition as moral foundations for digital literacy in contemporary education. By integrating these ethical principles with emerging technologies, the study seeks to propose a framework for promoting responsible digital behavior among students, this research employs a library research method using a qualitative approach through systematic analysis of scholarly literature related to artificial intelligence in education, digital literacy, information ethics, and Qur’anic perspectives on knowledge and communication. Data sources consist of peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and academic publications from the last five to ten years. The collected literature was analyzed using content analysis and conceptual synthesis to identify key themes linking AI-based learning environments with Qur’anic ethical teachings relevant to responsible digital engagement, the findings indicate that integrating Qur’anic ethical values provides a strong moral framework for developing responsible digital literacy in AI-supported learning environments. Principles such as tabayyun encourage critical verification of information, while Qur’anic guidance on responsible speech and knowledge fosters ethical digital communication and critical thinking. The novelty of this study lies in proposing a conceptual integration between AI-based digital literacy and Qur’anic ethical epistemology, bridging technological innovation with Islamic ethical values to cultivate morally responsible digital citizen.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed contemporary educational practices, including the way knowledge is accessed, interpreted, and disseminated in digital environments. These developments present both opportunities and ethical challenges, particularly for Islamic Religious Education, which seeks to guide students not only in intellectual development but also in moral responsibility. This study aims to reconstruct Islamic Religious Education in the era of artificial intelligence by developing a Qur’anic framework for ethical digital engagement. The research focuses on how key Qur’anic ethical principles such as tabayyun (verification of information), responsibility in knowledge acquisition, and ethical communication can serve as moral foundations for digital literacy and responsible technology use among students, this study employs a qualitative approach using the library research method, which involves a systematic analysis of scholarly literature related to artificial intelligence in education, digital literacy, ethics of technology, and Qur’anic perspectives on knowledge and communication. The data sources consist of peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, and relevant research publications published within the last five to ten years. The collected literature was analyzed through content analysis and conceptual synthesis to identify key themes connecting AI-based educational environments with Qur’anic ethical teachings relevant to responsible digital engagement, the findings indicate that integrating Qur’anic ethical principles into digital learning environments provides a strong moral framework for guiding students in the responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies. Principles such as tabayyun encourage critical verification of information, while Qur’anic guidance on ethical communication promotes respectful interaction and prevents the spread of misinformation in digital spaces. The novelty of this study lies in proposing a conceptual integration between AI-driven digital learning and Qur’anic ethical epistemology, offering a framework for reconstructing Islamic Religious Education that balances technological innovation with ethical and spiritual values in the digital age
