Abstract

College libraries have a crucial role in supporting the student learning process by providing high-quality reading materials that are in accordance with the curriculum. In essence, the library's main task is to develop a strong collection for the benefit of its users. Evaluation is one way to determine the suitability of a collection with the curriculum. The aim of this research is to evaluate the availability of collections to meet the need for reference materials in accordance with the Semester Program Plan (RPS) for the main courses in the Penjaskesrek Study Program FKIP Riau University, semester 1 to semester 6. This research uses a quantitative approach to calculate the percentage of availability of appropriate collections using the checklist method to measure and analyze the availability of teaching material collections, by checking and matching the library collection database as well as the main teaching materials contained in the RPS for Physical Education Study Program courses. The research results showed that of the 25 courses there were 121 collection titles listed in the RPS, and the results of the checklist carried out on the Riau University Library database were only available for 15 book titles or 12%. The conclusion of this research can be stated, the availability of the library collection of the Penjaskesrek Study Program FKIP Riau University does not fully meet the need for reference materials in accordance with the RPS, with only 12% of the appropriate book titles out of a total of 121 titles listed. Further attention and increased collections are needed to support the success of student learning in achieving curriculum goals.

Abstract

In an effort to meet their information needs, many students rely on search engines, with Google as their main choice. Google as one of the largest and most dominant search engines. Search engine users only need to use keywords regarding the subject they are looking for, to explain that the study material available on the internet and search engines can be varied, ranging from text, sound, images, films, animations, games and other multimedia applications. This research aims to analyze the choice of Google as a search engine by students visiting the Riau Islamic University library. As an information medium. The research method used is a qualitative method. In this research, 10 selected students were selected as resource persons who were visitors to the Riau Islamic University library who accessed the internet. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. This research was conducted from August to October 2023. The research results show that the choice of Google search engine by visitors to the Riau Islamic University library is due to the need for information and satisfaction in searching or searching. The factors that influence students in choosing the Google search engine are Focused use as a search engine, popular, speed of access and sophisticated features make the user experience more practical and efficient. There are two important points why Riau Islamic University students are dominant in using the Google search engine. namely about information needs and satisfaction in using the Google search engine.

Abstract

This study has three main objectives, namely (1) to evaluate the role of digital literacy in learning Indonesian in SMA Negeri 15 Pekanbaru, (2) to identify strategies to improve digital literacy in learning Indonesian in SMA Negeri 15 Pekanbaru, and (3) for Analyzing supporting factors and inhibiting the implementation of the strategy. The research method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive characteristics, using observation, interviews, and documentation as a method of data collection. The results of this study reveal that (1) the role of digital literacy in learning Indonesian involves improving the skills of utilizing digital media for in -depth learning, access to information from the internet, and the use of digital media as a communication tool in providing educational material. The teacher also applies the method of cultural movement to read diligently with a LIBERASI’s program to read books, write reviews, and share these activities through social media. (2) Digital literacy improvement strategies involve strengthening character through the use of digital media, reading books or electronic media, providing learning links, and the use of creative applications to increase creativity and motivation to learn Indonesian. (3) Supporting factors involve comprehensive support from schools by providing digital facilities and infrastructure, while inhibiting factors include limited data quota and internet network disorder during learning.

Abstract

Bibliometrics is a bibliographic analysis method used to study the structure, development and dynamics of scientific publications. This research focuses on bibliometric analysis of articles contained in the Gema Librarian Journal which were published in 2013-2023. This research aims to find out what topics are contained in the Gema Librarian Journal, and which articles are most frequently cited. This research data was collected by searching Gema Librarian Journal articles via Google Scholar, then continuing by creating a list of articles sorted by year of publication by including the name of the researcher and the title of the article with the help of Microsoft Excel. The results of this research show that the study topics found based on visualization network analysis from VOSViewer show that there are 100 study topic items in the Gema Librarian journal. A total of 100 items on this topic were grouped into 15 clusters by the VOSViewer application with 229 links and a total link strength of 254. Furthermore, the most frequently cited article was a research article with the title "Study of the Use of Online Journals at the Riau University Pekanbaru Library". This research was conducted by Thamrin Hasan. The number of citations for this article was 27 citations or 55.36%. The conclusion of this study is that bibliometric research on the Gema Librarian Journal shows a diversity of study topics with 15 clusters, while the article "Study of the Use of Online Journals at the Riau University Pekanbaru Library" is the most frequently cited article.

Abstract

A bibliometric mapping study was carried out using VOSviewer on the development of information literacy research results in library journals in Indonesia. The development of information literacy research results published in library science journals and contained in databases that provide free access such as Google Scholar needs to be studied. This research aims to map the development of research results related to information literacy published by library science journals in Indonesia. The research was conducted in September-October 2023 by searching the Google Scholar database, using the keyword information literacy. The search result data was analyzed descriptively based on the year the publication was published, and the name of the institution that published the research results, the name of the journal/publication, and the type of document. To obtain a map of the development of this research, the data was exported in the Research Information Systems (ris*) file format. The export data is then processed and analyzed using the VOSiewer application to find a bibliometric map of the development of research results related to information literacy. The research results show that the development of research results related to information literacy topics indexed in the Google Scholar database found 142 research results within 5 years, with details in 2019 totaling 36 research results or 25.35%, in 2020 and 2021 respectively. each is amounting to 18 research results or 12.68%, and 23 research results, or 16.20%. In 2022 there were 34 research results or 23.94% and in 2023 based on data as of August 31 there were 31 research results or 21.83%. The conclusion of this study found that from 2019 to 2023, there were 142 indexed research results, and developments showed fluctuations, with the peak number of research in 2019.

Abstract

Information is a vital resource essential for continuous living and the teaching-learning process, with the library as one of its primary providers. School libraries play an integral role in supporting the curriculum and fostering a culture of literacy among students. However, low visiting interest in some cases is often associated with the sub-optimal implementation of facilities and infrastructure. This research aims to analyze and describe the implementation of facilities and infrastructure at the SMP Negeri 1 Sirah Pulau Padang Library and identify its influence on student visiting interest. This study employed a qualitative research approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The research location was SMP N 1 Sirah Pulau Padang, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The findings indicate that the implementation of physical facilities and infrastructure is reasonably adequate, featuring a spacious room, good arrangement, and basic amenities that support comfort. A key deficiency was found in the lack of technological facilities (computers) for reference searching. The crucial finding of this research is that the non-physical factor, namely the quality of human resources (HR) and excellent service provided by competent and friendly librarians, proved to be a significant driver of student visiting interest. The implementation of facilities and infrastructure, well-managed by the right HR, resulted in a high visitation rate, reaching approximately 30 students per day. It is concluded that comprehensive implementation of facilities and infrastructure, supported by outstanding librarian service quality, creates a comfortable environment and successfully increases student visiting interest.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the use of electronic publishing and graphics in the Wattpad e-book application. Through descriptive research, namely to obtain information and describe what is currently happening using a qualitative approach, data is collected through content analysis of related documents. The research results show that electronic publishing has expanded traditional boundaries regarding publishing and provided new opportunities for authors and publishers and that readers can easily store and read book collections on their devices without the need to carry heavy physical books. The implication of this research is that the use of electronic publishing has increased due to advances in computer technology and the potential unique features it offers. Meanwhile, the development of the electronic market is driven by advances in information technology, ease of access and security of online transactions. This development has brought benefits to consumers and businesses.

Abstract

Increasing access to information and literacy through the UIN Raden Fatah Palembang e-library application is a very important effort to improve the quality of education and increase students' ability to access relevant and accurate information. In this context, the e-library application developed by UIN Raden Fatah Palembang has great potential in increasing access to information and literacy among students and lecturers. Apart from that, this application is also equipped with features that help improve literacy, such as searching for books using bar-codes and others, as well as the ability to search and organize information. In this research, the author will evaluate the effectiveness of the UIN Raden Fatah Palembang e-library application in increasing access to information and literacy among students and lecturers. The author will also examine how this application can help improve students' abilities in accessing relevant and accurate information, as well as how this application can help improve lecturers' abilities in teaching and providing guidance. The research aims to analyze and document how the implementation of the e-library application at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang has increased information accessibility and user literacy. In the context of the digital era, the existence of e-library applications is important in enabling users to access and utilize information effectively via mobile devices. The method used by the author in this research is descriptive qualitative which acts as a reference in making this article, because the author took many sources from previous research as well as observation results on the UIN Raden Fatah Palembang e-library application. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to the development of e-library applications that are more effective and efficient in increasing access to information and literacy among students and lecturers.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze current research trends in the field of homicide in Indonesia, identify the most studied research topics, and find research gaps that can be studied further. This research uses a bibliometric method with data from Google Scholar for the 2018-2022 period which was harvested via the Publish or Perish application. Bibliometric analysis was carried out based on six characteristics: (1) article publication trends, (2) journals that published the most articles, (3) most cited articles, (4) frequently used keywords, (5) most frequently used author's institutions productive, and (6) visualization of analysis results using VOSviewer. The research results show: 1) Journal of Mental Nursing Science is the most active journal related to research in the field of poisoning in Indonesia in 2018-2022. 2) Kedal College of Health Sciences (STIKES) is the most active research institution with many articles cited. 3) Livana, P.H. the most active author and contributed greatly to homicide research. 4) The most cited article is the result of Anung Ahadi Pradana's research. 5) Research topics that are widely discussed include maintenance, workload, critical thinking, fatigue, caring, intervention, leadership, job satisfaction, patient satisfaction, nurse performance, service quality, training, care services, nurse experience, and nurse knowledge . 6) Research topics that are gaps and have the potential for further research include the role of the family, relaxation, schizophrenia, violence, hemodialysis, self-efficacy, stroke, breast milk production, adolescent sexual behavior, anxiety, depression, self-concept, obesity, and contraception. It can be concluded that this research succeeded in finding research gaps in the field of bleeding in Indonesia can be used as a reference for further research.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between quality of work life and work engagement among librarians. The research method used is quantitative with a saturated sampling technique, involving 22 librarians who have worked for at least two years. Data were collected using two scales: the quality of work life scale and the work engagement scale. Data analysis was conducted using the product-moment correlation test. The analysis results show a significant relationship between quality of work life and work engagement among librarians, with a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.005) and a correlation coefficient of 0.481. This indicates a positive correlation between the two variables. Higher quality of work life corresponds to higher work engagement among librarians with their library institutions. Conversely, lower quality of work life is associated with lower work engagement. The conclusion of this study is that improving the quality of work life can enhance work engagement among librarians. A good quality of work life creates a supportive and motivating work environment, which in turn increases their engagement with the library institution. On the other hand, poor quality of work life can reduce librarians' motivation and engagement. Therefore, library institutions need to pay attention to and improve the quality of work life to achieve better work engagement. This study provides empirical evidence that quality of work life plays a crucial role in enhancing work engagement among librarians.
