Abstract

Information literacy skills are a fundamental problem facing Indonesia at the moment, the low information literacy index rate is a big homework that must be resolved, especially in library institutions which have one of the functions of educating the nation's life or making a literate society. To realize this, the library needs to design a precise strategy in managing its library. The purpose of this study was to describe the strategy analysis of the PCR Library in supporting information literacy activities using SWOT analysis. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results of the research are that this research can map the external and internal environmental factors of the PCR Library related to library strategy in supporting information literacy activities using SWOT analysis and the results of the SWOT matrix analysis obtained six strategic components that can be used as input for future planning programs which consist of 2 S-O strategies, namely: 1. Increasing collaboration in utilizing existing collections so that they are more efficient (S.3.-O.1.) and 2. Optimizing IT-based services because users have IT skills (S.5.-O.3.), 1 S-T strategy namely, Improving library quality recognition for example by library accreditation (S.6.-T.1.), 2 W-O strategies namely: 1. Adding human resources by utilizing the available budget (W.3.-O.4.), 2. Adding journal collections (W.5.-O.4.). and 1 W-T strategy, namely: Developing the vision and mission of the library (W.1.-T.1).

Abstract

Disability refers to the limitations that a person has. Disabilities are influenced by the surrounding environment that is not yet disability-friendly. The library is a storehouse of knowledge. The library is a reading garden and has a function for children with disabilities. However, many children do not take advantage of the function of the library as a place of information. Children with disabilities rest more and do not focus on library use activities. The purpose of this study was to find out how the function of the library for children with disabilities at SLB Al-Faqih, Tuah Madani Pekanbaru is described. This research design uses qualitative methods. Data collection using interviews. The results showed that: 1) students have not utilized the library as a center for teaching and learning activities for education as stated in the school curriculum, 2) students have not been able to develop their creativity and imagination, and 3) students have not been able to position the library as a recreational place to fill their free time. The conclusion of this study is that the average school library function cannot be applied by students with disabilities.

Abstract

The web is a medium of communication and information that is widely used by Indonesian people today, but it has the inherent property of being easily lost. For this reason, the web that stores information and records the activities of the Indonesian people needs to be preserved because it can be considered as a document of historical and cultural heritage value. Preserving the web in an archive format so that it remains accessible in the future is called web archiving. The COVID-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia is considered an extraordinary event. Thus, information about the COVID-19 pandemic, which is widely disseminated via the web, is seen as important to be preserved through web archiving, so that future generations can still access it. The problem is, in Indonesia web archiving in the national scope is no longer active, even though it was once organized by the National Library of Indonesia in 2010-2015. In addition, the field of web archiving has not been widely researched by Indonesian academics. This prompted the author to conduct this research which aims to initiate web archiving steps for webs related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The research method used to perform web archiving is the web archiving life cycle model (WALCM) method developed by the Archive-It team. The WALCM method can be applied to web archiving related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The conclusion of this study is that a number of websites have been successfully archived according to policy. However, the number is not significant due to limited resources.

Abstract

 Writing is one of the skills in language. The writing aspect must be understood in addition to listening, speaking and reading skills. Writing is a process, meaning that writing skills will be obtained properly through the intensity of the exercises carried out. Without practicing and not understanding the rules of the language, writing skills will not be realized properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of companion service guidance on improving skills in writing online journals. The research method is a quasi-experimental design, using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Respondents amounted to 50 students. Research instruments in the form of pre-test and post-test. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistical analysis techniques and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that there was an effect of the implementation of mentoring services on improving the ability to write online journal articles for students, with a correlation coefficient of 0.632. The value of this correlation coefficient indicates that the level of strength of the relationship is strong. There is an influence on the implementation of companion guidance on increasing the ability to write student online journal articles (JOM). Assistance service guidance significantly determines and contributes 5.40% to improving students' ability to write online journal articles. It can be concluded that increasing the ability to write online journal articles for students can be improved through the implementation of escort service guidance. Based on this explanation, it can be seen that the proposed research hypothesis is acceptable.

Abstract

The research aims to find out; 1) Number of SNIs in the library and documentation sector in Indonesia; 2) Number of valid and invalid SNIs; 3) Number of available and unavailable full text of SNI; 4). SNI made by adoption and not adoption. The keyword "library" was used to obtain 14 titles and "documentation", as many as 36 titles, after reading it was found that 1 title was the same as SNI library. Research results: SNI field of library 14 titles, 9 titles (64.28%) are still valid, and 5 titles (35.72%) are not valid. SNI Library 4 SNI documents (35.72%) are not available in full, and 9 SNI documents (64.28%) are available in full text pdf. A total of 6 SNI (42.85%) libraries were made by adoption and 8 titles (57.15%) were made not by adoption. There are 35 SNI titles in the field of documentation, and as many as 33 (94.28%) are still valid, and 2 SNI titles (5.72%) are no longer valid. A total of 22 SNI titles in the field of documentation (62.85%) are available in full text, but 13 titles (37.15%) are not available in full text. SNI documentation made by adoption 26 titles (74.29%), and non-adopted 9 titles (25.71%). It was concluded that not all of the SNI in the field of library and documentation are still valid, not all of which are available in full text. Most SNIs in the library field are made using non-adoption methods, while SNI in the documentation field are mostly made by adoption. It is suggested to BSN to complete SNI which does not have full text.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the influence of library facilities, service quality and librarian performance on students' interest in visiting the Lancang Kuning University library. This research is a type of quantitative research using a causal research design to measure relationships between variables, or to analyze how one variable influences other variables (Umar, 2002:39). With data collection techniques using questionnaires with a Likert scale, observation and documentation. The sampling technique used was random sampling of 100 respondents obtained using the Slovin formula. The data analysis methods used are statistical analysis, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression, partial t test, simultaneous f test and coefficient of determination testing. Simultaneously, the three variables above, namely library facilities, service quality and librarian performance, have an influence together. This is proven by the results of the regression test which shows that of the three variables library facilities, service quality and librarian performance from the results of the F Statistical Test obtained a Sig value. 0.000 (<5%) in the sense that it is less than the standardized α (0.005), which means that together or simultaneously the variables Library Facilities (X1), Service Quality (X2) and Librarian Performance (X3) have a significant effect on the Student Interest in Visiting variable ( Y). Based on the results of the multiple linear regression test, it shows that the variables of library facilities, service quality and librarian performance together have a significant effect on students' interest in visiting Lancing Kuning University, Pekanbaru. Abstract

One effort that can effectively foster people's interest in reading is through TBM (Community Reading Gardens) activities. This research aims to find strategies to foster interest in reading through activities, especially in the Dusun IV community, Kubang Jaya Village, Kampar Regency. The study data in this research includes literature data, field observations and information from sources consisting of community leaders, youth, parents, early childhood (preschool and kindergarten), elementary and middle school students and equivalent, as well as high school students and equivalent. Theoretical data was extracted through various previous research and supporting references, as well as expert information (librarians and TBM activists in Riau Province). Through a qualitative approach using SWOT analysis, several strategies were found that could be implemented, namely: (1). Collecting data on community environmental conditions for the development of a reading environment, (2). Organizing book reading activities and story competitions, (3). Holding book review competition activities with the TBM Forum, and (4). Organizing fairy tale activities. The results of the research show that to increase people's reading interest in Dusun IV, Kubang Jaya Village, Kampar Regency, it is necessary to implement these four strategies in an integrated program with TBM Inara as the center for activities to increase reading interest in the area.

Abstract

SAKTI (One Indonesian Card) is an Indonesian government program that creates one account for all government services, including libraries. National Library has socialized one card for all libraries in Indonesia, which technically can be done through membership integration between library institutions, including the UNRI Library. However, a big problem arises when two different systems can be made part of the SAKTI card. This research aims to find and recommend a model for integrating UNRI Library members with SAKTI National Library membership, both of which use different standards. The method used is SDLC (System Development Life Cycle), which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Testing and Evolution, with the research object Slims-integrated UNRI Library and National Library Membership System. The devices used to realize the model include software (Inlislite), network (internet network), member ID (NIK / Population Identification Number), synchronization (Inlislite SAKTI), and scheduler (Cron). The process used in model development includes: Processing the "member" table in integrated slims, adjusting the database structure, synchronization testing, real synchronization, and installing the scheduler. The research results show that the model that can be used consists of an integrated Slims automation system that is adapted to National Library SSO standards and assisted by synchronization software from National Library. The model that was built succeeded in automatically integrating the collection of 7,560 people from 37,668 members of the UNRI Library.

Abstract

Selectively selecting information that suits your needs requires skills in information literacy. This study aims to determine the level of students' information literacy skills based on the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Standards in the nursing faculty library at Riau University. This research is quantitative descriptive. The research population was all students from the nursing faculty at Riau University, a total of 822 respondents. The population was sampled as 270 respondents based on Slovin's formulation. Sampling was carried out using accidental sampling technique. The data collection method uses a questionnaire. The questionnaire used in this study is a closed questionnaire with a four-category Likert scale, created based on ACRL standards. Then, the data processing technique is by data checking, coding, and tabulation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that the information literacy skills of FKp Riau University students are very good. Students are able to carry out 22 activity indicators contained in the 5 components of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) information literacy competency standards. 91.63% of respondents answered always and often on the first standard component, 88.76% on the second standard component, 92.80% on the third standard component, 93.45% on the fourth standard component, and 91.73% on the fifth standard component . From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the students' information literacy level has demonstrated a very good level of information literacy skills.

Abstract

The arrangement of a library room needs to be done carefully and consider various aspects. A well-organized library room will provide a comfortable atmosphere for library visitors so that they are interested in reading. The purpose of this research is to see the description of the existing spatial layout in the UIR library so that it can increase reading interest in the UIR library. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, using primary data sources and secondary data sources. The number of informants was 12 people. Indicators of this study are spatial layout (room layout, furniture, lighting, coloring and air circulation) and reading interest (facilities, environment and motivation). From the research results obtained that the management of library layout in the UIR library has been running well. This can be seen in terms of room arrangement using detailed spatial arrangement, effective and efficient arrangement and arrangement of tables and chairs according to the needs of visitors. For the arrangement of furniture in the UIR library by using bookshelves labeled and numbering instructions on each bookshelf and arranged neatly, Furthermore, the Lighting section in the UIR library utilizes LED lights and sunlight entering the library room while for wall coloring in the UIR library using Cream color and the last is air circulation in the UIR library using air conditioning (AC) and window ventilation system. With a good room arrangement and providing a sense of comfort has great potential to increase the reading interest of UIR library visitors
