Abstract

Each company has the ability to generate profits which is called profitability. In essence, every company wants a high profitability level. The company expects the high level of profitability in order to realize its visions that has been established in the future. However, the fact shows that most companies still have low profitability levels, for example, the cosmetic and household industries. The low profitability levels of the companies most probably caused by working capital efficiency, liquidity, and solvency. This research aims to analyze the growth of working capital efficiency, liquidity, solvency, and also profitability, as well as eximining the influence of working capital effiency, liquidity, and solvability to profitability on the cosmetic and household industries which are registered at Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2009-2013 periods. This research is an explanatory research which has four industries as its populations. Since the populations are limited, this research uses census sampling, which all populations become as its samples, consist of four companies for 5 periods, so this research obtains 20 data ratios. It uses secondary data, such as the financial statements of all sampled companies for five periods. Its analytical methods are financial ratios analysis, significance test, regression test, correlation test, and coefficient of determination test. The results show that (1) Most of working capital efficiency and profitability level at the companies are still not good, but most of them are excellent in liquidity and solvency level; (2) there is no significant influence between working capital efficiency and profitability, but in partially, liquidity and solvency, each of them has significant influence to profitability, and (3) All of independent variables don’t have significant influence to profitability in simultaneously.

Abstract

Outdoor advertising media or commonly called billboards is one that widely used in the media to promote a product or service updates. In the process of selecting the location of the billboard there are several factors that affect, the internal factors relating to advertising agencies and external factors that have a connection with consumers and the local government. Based on the existing problems are suspected factors influence internal and external factors on site selection and installation of billboards in Jakarta.Type of this research is exploratory, the data collection method is study of literature, observation, and in-depth interviews with qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that internal factors are derived from advertising agencies do not have a significant influence on the selection of the location of the installation of billboards. However, external factors relating to consumers and the local government have a significant influence on the process of selecting the location of installation of billboards in Jakarta. Recommended for advertising agencies as the organizers of advertisement should be more sensitive to the changes that occur, because advertising activities fluctuated, advertising agencies should also increase the professionalism of the performance so that advertising agencies do not apply be stakeholders, but also a partner for the local government and the public, advertising agencies are should not only thought of profitable by always displaying commercial advertisements. However, it should undertake the installation of non-commercial billboard advertising as a form of social responsibility provided by advertising agencies to the people of Jakarta.

Abstract

Freiss Indofood syrup improvement with the selection of natural ingredients, minimize the use of synthetic ingredients, and addition the composition of honey. In terms of promotion, the company cooperate with other Indofood products to joint promotions. However, in reality Freiss Indofood syrup sales fluctuated and can not achieve the sales target. Therefore it is necessary to know how much influence the quality of products and the promotion on purchase decisions Freiss Indofood syrup. This type of research is explanatory research. The technique of collecting data using questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents with purposive sampling method with accidental sampling method. Data analysis consisted of validity, reliability, cross tabulation, correlation, coefficient of determination, simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, t test and F test using SPSS for Windows version 16.0. This research concluded that quality products and promotion have positive and significant effect to influence on purchasing decisions either partially or simultaneously. Promotion have greater influence than the quality products. Suggestions to Freiss Indofood syrup are to be more attention for tastes, needs and desires of consumers and increase the frequency of advertising impressions, increase the frequency of sales promotions.

Abstract

Human resources have a significant role in the organization activities. One of the importance of the management of human resources is to maintain the employee's performance. the organization have to pay much attention to the  working environment and enact labor discipline  around the employees that can influence their ability to carry out their duties and to make consistent performance of the employee.This study aims to determine the effect of labor discipline, the influence of the work environment, and the effect of both of labor discipline and the work environment towards employees performance at PT. Bakrie Sumatra Plantations.  This study uses explanatory research methods which is research that seeks to explain and highlight the relationship between the variables proposed in the study and explain the influence of independent variables on the dependent variable, in addition to test the hypothesis.  Research sample totaled 94 people taken using the slovin formula with probability sampling techniques. Then the data was analysed using validity, realiabilitas, regression, t and F tests. the results revealed that the majority of respondents stated that the labor discipline has a significant effect on employee performance as indicated by the t value of 47.170 > t table 1.984.  whereas the work environment have significant impact to  the performance of employees indicated by  t value 8.378> t table 1.984. furthermore both of the labor discipline and the work environment have  influence jointly on performance as indicated by F value of 1100.540 with significant value 0.000 <0.05. The biggest impact is contributed by working discipline that is equal to 98%. recommendation can be suggested that in terms of labor discipline the company should increase discipline the employee for example by applying a reducing salary for the late, provide regular training, and enact strict funishment to employees in order to bring deterent effect.  For better  work environment it is necessary to making more frequent cleaning activity. In regard to the ratio between the number of employees and the number of security personnel, the company should be able to rejuvenate for some working facilities. In regard of the employees performance the company's can provide some material and non-material motivation to spur employees to increase their  work, to increase frequency of training and to increase quality control can be done to improve the quality of employment,and  to gather employees in a gathering to further improve the relationship between the companies and employees.

Abstract

The success of a company inachieving its objectives can’t be separated from human resources. Because resourcesprovide an important role, the company always strives to be able to allocate substantialfunds to improve human resources. In the situation of banking competition, banks need agreat effort, then one effort is to further improve the performance of employees optimally.So that the objectives set by the company achieved well. The purpose of this research wasto determine whether there is influence appraisal, compensation to employee performancethrough motivation at PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), Tbk Branch Undip Semarang.The population in this study were all employees' fixed numbering 70 people, so this studyuses census research. The analytical tool used in this research is simple regression,regression, and path. Results of analysis and hypothesis testing showed that job appraisal,compensation, and motivation have an impact on employee performance. Judging from thecalculation of the regression coefficients indicate that job appraisal, compensation,motivation is able to explain the variable performance of the employee, where the results ofthe regression coefficient has an influence appraisal of 0.279, compensation of 0.022, andthe motivation of 0.76 to employee performance. This shows that the assessor job has agreater impact and has a strong degree of closeness of relationship to employeeperformance. Thus we can conclude the influence appraisal, compensation to employeeperformance through motivation at PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), Tbk BranchUndip Semarang. Advice can be given in this study and the need to increase attention tocompensation and motivation can be done by paying attention to the results of the work,can be in the form of bonuses from employers so that employees are encouraged to workoptimally.

Abstract

Companies need to analyse the company's financial performance to determine the development of an enterprise through analysis of the company's financial statements that can be done using the method of measuring financial ratios. Assessment of financial performance shows the company generates a profit or not that assist investors in making investment decisions as a benchmark to determine the capital gain when the shares are sold. Investors as shareholders can use the stock return rate as a benchmark to see expectations of a stock at a certain time and prospects of the company in the next period and in the future. This study was conducted to examine the effect of variable Working Capital to Total Assets (WCTA), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Total Assets Turnover (TAT) and Net Profit Margin (NPM) on stock returns, either partially or simultaneously on transportation service sector companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2011-2013.             This research is an explanatory research with a total sample of 15 companies x 3 years = 45 observation data out of a total population of 22 companies through the purposive sampling selection. The analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis and hypothesis testing using t test partial, F test simultaneously with the level of significance of 5% and a determination coefficient test.             The analysis showed the data have fulfilled classical assumptions, including data normally distributed, no symptoms of multikolinearitas, there are no symptoms of autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity. Working Capital to Total Assets (WCTA) are categorized illikuid, Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) are categorized insolvable and Total Assets Turnover (TAT) of companies that are less efficient overall tend to pose a risk for the company. While Net Profit Margin (NPM) may be used by investors as a parameter to measure the performance of the company to predict stock returns. Regression results Net Profit Margin (NPM) is partially significant effect on stock returns. While the Working Capital to Total Assets (WCTA), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and Total Assets Turnover (TAT) partially not significant effect on stock returns. Fourth variables used in this study (WCTA, DER, TAT and NPM) simultaneously affect the stock return of 13.2%. The variable that has the strongest influence is Net Profit Margin (NPM) with a regression coefficient of 0.349.                     The overall study results showed that the transport service sector companies listed on the Stock Exchange has less than the maximum financial performance which affects the rate of return to investors the stock return. Therefore, investors need to be cautious in making investments in company shares. We recommend that companies need to improve financial performance in the management of working capital, debt management, asset additions and the increased capacity of corporate profits, thereby increasing investor confidence as consideration of investment decision to invest in companies with the right.

Abstract

High levels of population mobility caused the need for courier services is important in supporting the mobility of global society , either for personal or business interests. JNE is one of the biggest courier company in Indonesia which has a mission to give the best experience for customer consistently. The achievement total of JNE branch Semarang has fluctuating not only from the target but also from the delivery total income since 2012 through 2014. This type of research is using explanatory research. The sample of this research are 100 respondents, and data collection techniques through questionnaires and interview using accidental sampling. Quantitative data were analyzed through the validity, reliability, crosstab, correlation, coefficient of determination, simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, t test and F test using SPSS for Windows version 15. The results show that service quality, word of mouth and brand image have partial and simultaneous effect to using decision. Brand image provides the most effect on using decision of JNE Branch Semarang. The suggestions that can be given in this research are the company expected to increase the service quality especially for the JNE’s employee, and also can re-arrange the capacity of service providers facility, and increase the quality of delivery so there’s no delay anymore.

Abstract

Softex Hello Kitty was entering the market with the target market teenagers, doing promotions such as advertisement and promotion programs with prizes. Product design and catchy packaging are the advantages of the product. Nevertheless, brand Softex are still behind competitors. Therefore, it is necessary to know what factors influence consumers to buy Softex Hello Kitty. The type of this research is exploratory research. The samples are 100 respondents using non probability sampling technique with purposive sampling approach. The analysis method is quantitative analysis, consist of exploratory factor analysis and regression test using SPSS 15.0 for windows. The research concluded factors that influence consumers to buy Softex Hello Kitty are price, product attribute, promotions, demography, and social. That factors have positive and significant effect to purchase decision. Suggestions can be submitted are product innovation that suitable with the consumers conditions, increase the promotion programs with gift and bonus, also more active to informing the product.

Abstract

 This study aimed to determine the effect of product quality, price, and promotion of the product purchase decisions. Researchers conducted a study on the sale of Motorcycle Honda Vario 125 FI in Juwana Subdistrict.This research was conducted with survey methods (interviews and questionnaires) to 50 ( Fifty) of the respondents, the sampling selection technique using purposive sampling. The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively by using tools such as cross-table analysis, validity, reliability, simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, coefficient of determination and testing with T test  and test  F. The independent variable is the quality of the product, price and promotion, while the dependent variable is the purchase decision.The results showed no effect of product quality on purchasing decisions by 46.7%. The effect of price to quality is 61.7% of purchase decisions and influence on purchasing decisions promotion 59.9%. Taken together the quality of the product, price and promotion has the effect of 72.4%, which means that consumer perceptions of product, price and promisi proportional or positive, which if consumers assess the quality of the product, price, promotion of good will increase the sales of this product.Suggestions for the company is to continue to maintain the quality of products by regularly monitoring the quality of the basic ingredients of products, giving a discount on the purchase of products and continues to promote the increase of the personal selling product knowledge in order to provide solutions
