Abstract

Administrative region formation is a process of administrative region division which is conducted in order to improve the welfare of the occupants of the respective region through the acceleration of economic development and the improvement of capacity in public services. The city of Serang, formed out of the municipality of Serang, Banten regency, was established with such goals in mind. This research is conducted both to measure the economic performance and public services performance of the city of Serang after administrative formation (2009-2011) and to compare the results with similar data from its municipality of origin.This research uses indexing method. The indexing method is used to compare the performance between the newly established administrative region and its municipality of origin.Index calculation results that the performance of economic and public services of the city of Serang shows that the city is comparable to municipality of Serang with slightly better results.

Abstract

ABSTRACT      Samosir Regency is the one of regency which has seperated from Toba Samosir Regency. As a new regency, Samosir must be need a structural, relevant, and efficient development plan. Determining Development Area Unit is the one of theoretical and practical concept which can be referenced in order to make development policy      There are several aims of this research. They were to find out the economical basics and potencies in Samosir Regency, to find out the economical potencies from every subdistricts in Samosir, to find out which subdistricts that can be a growth pole in Samosir, to find out the interactional strength among the districts, and to design a Development Areal Units in Samosir Regency. To reach that aims, this study use Location Quotient, Shift-share analysis, indirect method, Gravitation Analysi, and Scalogram. The data that used in this study are province’s GDP, regency’s GDP, population quantities, distances among the district’s capital and the quantities and type of services facilities available in each subdistrict in Samosir Regency.      The result of the analysis showed that there were 3 Development Area Units that is identified in Samosir Regency. They were Development Area Unit I (DAU I) including Pangururan, Sianjurmulamula, Harian and Ronggurnihuta subdistricts, Development Area Unit II (DAU II) including Simanindo subdistrict, Development Area Unit III (DAU III) including Nainggolan, Palipi, Onanrunggu and Sitiotio subdistrict.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Kalianget Hot Water Spring  is one of the tourism potential in the Wonosobo regency because it has the second largest number of visitors established after Dieng. This research  aims to determine the factors that influence the demand for visits to Kalianget Hot Water Spring by using the  individual travel cost method (ITCM). Regression analysis was involved in this study with specification of the number of individual visits as the dependent variable and the six variables as independent variables. Variables of travel cost to Kalianget Hot Water Spring, travel cost to Dieng, the average family income per month (Rp), distance (Km), group visits and purpose of the visit. The results showed two variables influence the number of tourism demand to the Kalianget Hot Water Spring,  the travel cost to the Kalianget Hot Water Spring and monthly family income. Consumer surplus value obtained for Rp 469.475 for each individual year or Rp 93.895.2 each individual visit. The benefit of the Kalianget Hot Water Spring was Rp 93,895,2 for each individual visit. This number is still higher than the average expenditure of visitor Rp 40.662.5. Therefore, the development of Kalianget Hot Water Spring for improvement but also in optimizing the management of its potential.

Abstract

Implementation of the regional autonomy through fiscal decentralization is expected to improve the quality of public services. Health and education Outcomes is one measure that can be used to view the quality of public services. Health Outcomes can be seen through the toddler mortality rate (AKABA), whereas educational outcomes can be seen through pure participation rate (APM) SD/MI. This study aims to examine empirically the influence of fiscal decentralization to the toddler mortality rate (AKABA) and pure participation rate (APM) SD/MI in counties/cities Central Java Province. The type of data in this research is panel data using analysis methods with the approach of the fixed effect model (FEM). Panel data in this study covers 35 counties/cities in Central Java province, in the period 2007 to 2010. The result of this study shows that the fiscal decentralization had significantly negative impact on toddler mortality rate and significant positive to pure participation rate SD/MI. Fiscal decentralization is able to reduce the toddler mortality rate as much as 31,8 per 1.000 live births, increase pure participation rate SD/MI as much as 0.05 percent every 1 percent increase in the degree of fiscal decentralization.

Abstract

Semarang Simpanglima region as growth poles and the central office activities will be followed by activities surrounding the growth of support activities such as the growth of trade and services. The existence of relocating street vendors located in the region resulted in a reduction in the number of traders Simpanglima especially haberdasher.The method of this study used paired t test. The type of data is primary data which obtained from 85 household samples in Simpanglima.The results of these study show value of a paired t test for the variable number of consumers in the food traders Simpanglima a decline of 45.66%. For a paired t test on a variable number of production by 48.90%. For the variable of labor in food traders after relocation has decreased by 40%. For variable turnover in the food trade after the relocation has decreased by 55.34%. And for the variable profits after a relocated food vendors has decreased by 66.74%.

Abstract

Industrialization is one of the goverment’s ways to increase the economical development, that the main goal is to give more chance to work. The efforts to recruit workers cannot be separated from some factors that have an effect on it, such as the growth of the population and workers, the economic development and the recruitment of worker and not to deny the other efforts that can raise higher productivity through any other programs. One of the ways to enlarge the recruitment of workers is by developing industry mainly industry which focuses on work production. Developing work production industries will raise the capacity of the production so it can make job oppotunities. Industrial Departement of Central Java, Jepara Regency’s data show that micro and middle industries are the most available and need the most employees in Jepara’s Regency is wood furnitue industries. The main goal of this researh is to analize the recruitment of employees at micro and middle wood furniture industries in Jepara’s Regency and also to find out the influence variables.The method of this analysis is multiple linear regression with double log method. Data that used in this research is based on premier data that got from directly interview with micro and middle wood furniture entrepreneurs at Jepara Regency belonging to  prepared question list.The result of this research summarize that working capital has positive and significant influence for labor requirements of micro and middle wood furniture industry at Jepara’s Regency, labor’s productivity has positive and significant influence for labor requirements of micro and middle wood furniture industry at Jepara’s Regency, labor’s wage has negative and significant influence for labor requirements of micro and middle wood furniture industry at Jepara’s Regency and the business age has positive and significant influence for labor requirements of micro and middle wood furniture industry at Jepara’s Regency.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze household poverty through the factors that influence in the District of Tugu of Semarang city. The factors are including education,  family size, and asset. The research was conducted in the District of Tugu to the number of households in the district of Tugu as many as 1530 families, with a sample of 94 families. There are 3 variables under study, namely: education, family size, and asset. The instrument of data collection used questionnaires and interviews. Analysis of the data used is Ordinary Least Square (OLS) using instrument of SPSS 16.0. The results showed that the variables of education and capital have a significant positive impact on household poverty. While the family size variables have a significant negative impact on household poverty.

Abstract

Poverty is a multidimensional problem, it’s involves various aspects of life, from the economic to the social. The spread of poor people in Indonesia focused on urban and rural areas. Urban poverty becomes an increasingly relevant issue to be addressed, related to the dynamics of urban development and population growth that accompanies. Trend of population urbanization in Indonesia was followed by further poverty urbanization, it’s impact on the incidence  of various aspects of the urban poverty problems and urban poverty have  rigidity to decline, if compared to rural areas.Regional economic stability have influential on poverty, some macroeconomic variables be indicator. Efforts to address poverty should refer to the development of these variables. The purpose of this study was to analyze a regional macroeconomic variable, in this case GRDP, unemployment, and inflation in urban areas during the period 2007-2010.This study, uses secondary data in panel data form, consisting of time series data over the  period 2007-2010 and a cross section 44 cities in Indonesia. The approach to estimate the panel  data is Fixed Effect Model (FEM), by including a dummy variable in the equation, also known as the Least Square Dummy Variable (lSDV).  Dummy variables  regions  used  in  this  research  model  because of  each difference in the characteristics and resources of each region.The results showed that GRDP variables have significant negative effect on poverty.   Meanwhile,  unemployment  and  inflation  variables  have  positive  and significant impact on poverty. Thus, GRDP, unemployment, and inflation is worth a consideration in formulating policies to address the problem of urban poverty.

Abstract

This studi aimed to determine internal and external factors that influence Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Centra Java Province from 1994 to 2010. The purpose of thus study is based on the problem of low Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Central Java Province. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) an area influenced by internal and external factors, as well as to GDP of Central Java Province which is also influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors are factors that originate from within the region itself, whereas external factors are factors that originate from outside the region. In this study are included in the internal factors are local government spending, private investments, and prices of domestic goods in Central Java Province, while belonging to the external factors are GDP of West Java Province and East Java Province.The data used in this study is secondary data. Data taken at government agencies. Analysis method that is used is OLS method were analyzed using analysis tools eviews 6. The dependent variable in this study is GDP of Central Java Province, and the independent variables in this study are GDP of West Java Province, GDP of East Java Province, local government spending of Central Java Province, private investments in Central Java Province, and prices of domestic goods in Central Java Province. The Results of this study show that internal and external factors alike – each has and influence on GDP of Central Java Province. External factor have more influence on GDP of Central Java Province than internal factor. Independent variable that have a significant impact on GDP of Central Java Province are GDP of West Java Province and GDP of East Java Province.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sector is the largest growing economic sector in the field of trade and services. Generally, the problems faced by SMEs in Semarang is a matter of business, in which micro and small traders does not have enough capital to run and manage his business activities. The purpose of this study was to analyze the development of Micro Enterprises as well as the difference between before and after obtaining micro-credit the Enkas Mulia Cooperative in Semarang which include venture capital, labor (working hours), the turnover of sales and profits. Research object is the Micro Enterprises that become customers the Enkas Mulia Cooperative in Semarang with a sample of 70 respondents. Type of data collected are the primary data and secondary data. Data analysis methods used in this research include test validity, reliability test and wilcoxon sign rank test. Based on a wilcoxon sign rank test for variables obtained –p value of capital of 0.000 (0.000 < 0.05) which means there are different variables before and after obtaining micro-credit the Enkas Mulia Cooperative in Semarang or an increase of 108% of venture capital after getting micro-credit from the Enkas Mulia Cooperative in Semarang. For variable labor (working hours) obtained –p value of 0.000 (0.000 < 0.05) which means there are different variables before and after obtaining micro-credit from the Enkas Mulia Cooperative in Semarang or an increase in working hours by 12.5% after getting micro-credits from of the Enkas Mulia Cooperative in Semarang. Thus the presence of micro-credit the Enkas Mulia Cooperative in Semarang the could increase the variables business capital, labor (working hours), sales turnover and profit of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) experienced significant improvement.
