Abstract

Indonesia is known for its traditional games, one of the most popular traditional games for children is engklek. Integrating traditional games into mathematics learning such as providing learning activities into student worksheets will be more interesting for students.  This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the traditional game to improve learning outcomes in the affective and cognitive domains of students. This research is an R&D research with the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), with the subject of 12 junior high school seventh grade students. The data collection techniques used were observation, questionnaire, and test. Data analysis using descriptive statistics averaged and paired sample t-test for hypothesis testing. The result of this research indicates that the final prototype of student worksheets contains two learning activities, that is, the introduction of flat shapes and calculating the area and perimeter of flat shapes.  The worksheet fulfilled the criteria of being very valid and the trial results also fulfilled the criteria of being very practical. The character values obtained from the crank game are cooperation, honesty, fair play, high spirits, and patience, while the cognitive is able to improve math learning outcomes.

Abstract

Math is a difficult and complicated subject to apply and understand for some students. This learning difficulties has an impact on their learning achievement. Therefore, this research aims to determine the learning difficulties of algebraic arithmetic operations in high score group students, moderate score group students and low score group students at SMPN 5 Palopo. This research is descriptive quantitative research which aims to examine an objective picture through the numbers. The population in this research is all students of class VIII C at SMPN 5 Palopo, consist of 25 students. The sample was conducted by saturated sampling that the entire population will be sampled when it is less than 30 people. The data in this research were analyzed using the percentage formula for the level of students’ difficulty. The results indicated that students with high score groups did not experience concept and principal difficulties, but the students experienced verbal difficulties of 33% with a very low category. Meanwhile, the students with moderate score groups experienced concept difficulties of 11% with a very low category, principal difficulties of 6% with a very low category, and verbal difficulties learners of 46% with a moderate category. In addition, the students with low score groups experienced concept difficulties of 61% with a high category, principal aspect difficulties of 60% with a medium category, and verbal difficulties of 59% with a medium category.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of student worksheets in learning mathematics on integers and fractions based on open-ended approach. This type of research is Research and Development (R & D) research using the ADDIE model. Students of seventh grade of SMPN 1 Bua Ponrang were the subjects of this research. The instruments used are validation sheets for material experts, media and design experts, then practicality questionnaires for teachers and students. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative data analysis. The assessment results based on the first material expert validation questionnaire obtained a score of 78.94% which means "valid." The results of validation from the second material expert obtained a percentage score of 78.75% which is included in the "valid" category. The results of validation from media and design experts obtained a percentage score of 69.23% which means "valid." The results of practicality by educators obtained a percentage score of 98.33% with the category "very practical" and the results of practicality by students obtained a percentage score of 89.70% with the category "very practical." Based on the results of the classical provisions obtained 78.57% with an average before using the worksheet based on the open ended approach of 70.35 and after using the worksheet based on the open ended approach 76.78 which has increased in order to comply with the effectiveness category of effective. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the student worksheets based on the open-ended approach in learning mathematics on integers and fractions are valid, practical, and effective to be used as learning teaching materials.

Abstract

Productivity is a crucial factor in maintaining and improving the quality of education in schools. Good quality education is a measurement for the success of teacher work productivity. In addition, teacher work productivity is affected by organizational culture, achievement motivation, and visionary leadership. Therefore, the objective of this research is to find strategies on ways to increase teacher work productivity by examining the direct and indirect effects of the variables that have been mentioned. This research used survey method in quantitative approach with path analysis technique and STOREM. The sampling technique used is random sampling technique. Respondents involved in the research were 150 out of a total of 238 private high school teachers. The result of the research indicated that there is a positive and significant direct effect: (1) visionary leadership on teacher work productivity (βy1=0.290; α<0.01); (2) organizational culture on teacher work productivity (βy2=0.230; α<0.01); (3)achievement motivation on teacher work productivity (βy3=0.325; α<0.01); (4) visionary leadership on achievement motivation (β31=0.284; α<0.01). Achievement motivation variables do not function effectively as mediating the effect of visionary leadership on work productivity, and function effectively as a mediator of the effect of organizational culture on work productivity. The strategies to improve teacher innovation can be implemented by strengthening the variables of visionary leadership, organizational culture, and achievement motivation. On the other hand, strategies to improve teacher work productivity can be implemented by improving indicators that are still weak, such as strong desire, mission formulation, lesson planning, and student direction.

Abstract

Science subjects require media in teaching. The learning process will not be maximized if the material is only based on textbooks. Therefore, the objectives of this research is to determine the improvement of science learning outcomes through the application of project-based learning model to fourth grade students of SD Inpres Bangkala III Makassar. This type of research is classroom action research which is conducted in a cyclic process with the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects in this research were the fourth grade students of SD Inpres Bangkala III Makassar consisting of 29 students. The research instruments used in this research were observation sheets, learning outcomes tests and documentation. Data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative. The results of the research indicated that the results of observations of teacher teaching activities in cycle 2 increased to 89.74% with a very good category and the results of observations of student activities increased to 81.81% with a very good category and student learning outcomes reached a minimum completeness criteria score of 82.75%. Therefore, based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the project-based learning model is able to improve learning outcomes to fourth grade students of SD Inpres Bangkala III Makassar.
