Abstract

Researchers promote child-friendly education in order to realize education that provides protection without violence, so that students feel comfortable, safe, and peaceful at school, allowing the learning process to run smoothly. The objectives of this study are (1) to analyze patterns of communication between parents and institutions in creating child-friendly education, (2) to analyze patterns of communication between parents and children in creating child-friendly education, and (3) to analyze problems in patterns of communication between parents, institutions, and children in realizing child-friendly education. In this study, the author used a qualitative approach and a multi-case study. The data collection techniques used included: 1) interviews, and 2) documentation. The data collected from these two techniques were analyzed from a single site and cross-case analysis. During data collection, the data obtained were tested using the triangulation method. The triangulation method used by the researcher used source triangulation as well as the methods of observation persistence and data validity. Abstract

Students with special needs who are slow learners are students who have slower learning abilities than other students, characterized by difficulties in learning and understanding academic and skill-related information, low academic achievement, frequent tardiness in submitting assignments, and requiring a long time to understand lesson material. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a phenomenological research type that will describe the process of learning implementation by Motivational Teachers. The data collection techniques used in this study are interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion drawing. The aspects studied are the strategies used by Motivational Teachers in providing services to slow learners as a form of tutoring during the learning process, as seen from the provision of assistance in the form of accommodation services in teaching methods and materials, assignments and assessments, time requirements, and the learning environment. The results of the study show that the services provided by Motivational Teachers for slow learners in elementary schools in Sukoharjo Regency cover three aspects, namely modification of time allocation, modification of content or material, and modification of the learning process. In addition, the use of media in the learning process was also found. The services provided by Motivational Teachers have been implemented well.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs of interactive media based on Scratch for teaching the "Traditions and Cultures of Society" material to fourth-grade students in the Kragan District. Using a qualitative research approach, this study gathers data through direct observations, interviews with teachers, and questionnaires distributed to students. The findings show that students exhibited significant interest and engagement during the learning process, especially when they were given the opportunity to create interactive projects based on their local traditions and cultures using Scratch. Furthermore, students demonstrated increased creativity, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative skills during the activities. The study concludes that Scratch, as an interactive, game-based learning tool, provides an effective medium for teaching cultural and traditional content in a way that is engaging and relevant to students’ lives. The use of Scratch enhances students' understanding of local culture, encourages creativity, and fosters critical thinking skills. This research highlights the potential of Scratch as an educational platform in the elementary school context and encourages further exploration of its use in cultural education, particularly in areas rich in local traditions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using Scratch Edugame in enhancing coding skills among elementary school students. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing direct observations and questionnaires to gather data on students' engagement and understanding during coding lessons. The findings reveal that students demonstrated a high level of engagement and enthusiasm, actively exploring various command blocks in Scratch and collaborating with peers. Furthermore, students were able to solve basic coding problems independently, showcasing their problem-solving skills. The study concludes that Scratch, as an interactive and game-based learning tool, not only helps in teaching basic coding concepts but also fosters creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among students. The use of Scratch in coding education contributes to a positive learning environment, enhancing students' motivation and confidence in technology-related subjects. This research highlights the potential of Edugame platforms like Scratch in elementary education, suggesting further exploration of its long-term impact on student learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the habituation of polite language use as an effort to shape students’ character at SDN Sendang 1, Donorojo District, Pacitan Regency. The study focuses on the role of teachers in cultivating the use of polite language and its influence on the development of students’ character, particularly in appreciating achievement and social care. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving fifth-grade students, classroom teachers, and the school principal as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data accuracy was ensured through research technique and source triangulation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the habituation of polite language use at SDN Sendang 1 has been implemented consistently through teachers’ role modeling, both in learning activities and in daily interactions within the school environment. This habituation contributes significantly to the development of the character of appreciating achievement, as reflected in students’ mutual respect and appreciation, as well as the character of social care, which is evident in the use of polite, empathetic, and respectful language. However, students’ initiative in demonstrating spontaneous social care still needs to be enhanced through continuous habituation. This study concludes that the habituation of polite language use is an effective strategy in character education and should be strengthened through synergistic collaboration among schools, teachers, and parents so that values of politeness can be optimally internalized within students.

Abstract

The Paket A equivalency education program is a non-formal learning service for individuals whohave not completed primary education. One of its main challenges is the low level of learnerparticipation, both in attendance and engagement during learning activities. This study aims toexamine thematic learning as an approach that can increase learner participation in Paket A. Theresearch method used is a literature study by reviewing previous research and theories related tothematic learning and equivalency education. The findings show that thematic learning can enhancelearner motivation, increase attendance, and encourage active involvement in discussions andclassroom activities. This approach aligns with andragogical principles, as it incorporates learners’life experiences into the learning process. However, its implementation continues to face obstacles,including limited tutor competence and insufficient learning facilities. This study concludes thatthematic learning has the potential to be an effective strategy to improve learner participation andlearning quality in Paket A.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and globalization has brought significant changes to the world of education, including the development of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum. This condition requires the PAI curriculum to be adaptive, contextual, and relevant to the characteristics of students in the digital era without losing the essence of Islamic values. This research aims to examine the development of the PAI curriculum in the digital and global era, analyze the challenges and opportunities faced, and formulate innovations and strategies for implementing the PAI curriculum that are appropriate to current demands. This research uses a qualitative approach with library research methods through analysis of various scientific literature sources, including reputable international journals and relevant accredited national journals published within the last ten years. The results of the study indicate that the PAI curriculum needs to be dynamically developed by integrating the use of digital technology, strengthening religious literacy, and instilling the value of religious moderation. The challenges of the rapid flow of information and the influence of global values can be addressed through curriculum innovation and appropriate implementation strategies. Thus, the Islamic Religious Education curriculum in the digital and global era plays a strategic role in shaping students who are religious, critical, and have a global perspective.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the world of education; however, uncontrolled gadget use poses serious problems for students' mental health and learning motivation. This study is crucial for understanding the complex relationship between digital technology and adolescent well-being to develop effective and sustainable intervention strategies. The primary objective of this article is to deeply and comprehensively analyze the impact of gadget use on the mental health and learning motivation of students through a systematic literature review. The method employed is qualitative with a literature review approach, synthesizing data from various scientific databases published between 2014 and 2024. The results indicate that excessive gadget use triggers emotional disorders, depression, anxiety, and sleep disturbances that damage cognitive functions. Mental health was found to act as a mediating variable that directly contributes to the decline of intrinsic motivation and academic engagement. This article contributes a holistic approach integrating psychological and pedagogical aspects, while offering practical, measurable recommendations for educators and parents to mitigate the negative impacts of technology in the school environment.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a strategic role in shaping students who possess strong faith, moral character, and Islamic values. As a core component of the educational system, the PAI curriculum is expected to integrate Islamic theoretical foundations with contextual and effective instructional practices. However, numerous studies indicate a persistent gap between the theoretical design of the PAI curriculum and its practical implementation. This study aims to examine and reconstruct the Islamic Religious Education curriculum by integrating theoretical and practical perspectives. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this research utilizes a library research method by analyzing reputable national andi nternationally journal articles published over the last ten years. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and narrative conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the reconstruction of the PAI curriculum should emphasize the integration of curriculum planning, instructional strategies, and contextual evaluation while adapting to social and technological developments. This study contributes conceptually by proposing an integrative and applicable framework for reconstructing the PAI curriculum, which may serve as a reference for developing Islamic education curricula that are responsive to contemporary educational challenges.
