Jurnal ini merupakan salah satu usaha nyata Universitas Hasanuddin melalui unit kerja Departemen PWK untuk mendiseminasikan hasil-hasil kajian, penelitian, perencanaan, pengabdian masyarakat, skripsi, tesis, dan disertasi yang berkaitan dengan bidang perencanaan wilayah dan kota dalam konteks kemaritiman kepada masyarakat luas dan pihak-pihak yang membutuhkan. Jurnal ini dimaksudkan pula sebagai sarana pertukaran pengetahuan dan informasi serta media pembelajaran bagi dunia akademisi dan praktisi utamanya mengenai penataan dan pengembangan kota tepi pantai (waterfront cities planning and development), perencanaan perumahan dan permukiman (housing and settlement planning), perencanaan dan perancangan kawasan perkotaan (urban planning and design), perencanaan infrastruktur dan transportasi (infrastructure and transportation), dan perencanaan wilayah dan mitigasi bencana (regional planning and disaster mitigation). Semoga sharing dan learning ini dapat memberi inspirasi atau bahkan lebih jauh daripada itu, dapat diaplikasikan dan karenanya  bermanfaat secara langsung kepada masyarakat luas dan tanah air tercinta. Abstract

Generally, the growth point of big cities in Indonesia was started from the waterfront. This fact is related to Indonesia as archipelagic country that makes its location more strategic. Makassar and Kendari is the waterfront city but have different forms. Makassar is formed by elongated coastline while Kendari formed by the bay. However, the two cities have in common as a trading city. This study use qualitative and quantitative analysis approach comparing their form to find the similarities and differences their morphology. The variable of this study consist of land use, population density, intensity of land use, urban centers and road network systems forming morphplogy of city. The result of comparison of the two cities shows population density of Makassar is greater than Kendari. Population and topography influence the hierarchy of urban centers in both cities. On the other hand, the both of cities have different in land use pattern, such as green open space, housing and industry, influenced by distance of shoreline. Building coverage ratio in the waterfront area, downtown and new development of Makassar is higher than Kendari in the same areas.

Abstract

Losari Beach cannot be avoided from a variety of social problems which causes the interference of social function of public space as a place for people to interact. Therefore, the study of social function of public space at Losari Beach are needed to make a better place and to improve the quality of Losari Beach as the public space. Spatial analysis (GIS) was conducted to figure the pattern of visitors’ activities and characteristic of public space at Losari Beach. Qualitative descriptive and quantitative analysis were used to find out the types of activities and the indicators of values and social function of Losari Beach. The result was Losari Beach consists of some kinds of public spaces like plazas, pedestrian ways, restaurants, and floating mosques which can be the attractive point. The value and social function indicators such as the comfort and the security, cannot fulfill the people’s needs due to the lack of facilities to support their activity and to feel safe and comfort. Thus, the needs and the democratic was needed to protect the people’s rights and the values were not achieved well.

Abstract

Jeneponto, located in South Sulawesi, East Indonesia, has natural potential diversity particularly in tourism sector which can be developed to improve the revenue. Tamarunang Beach in Jeneponto has potency to tourism region development in accordance with the RTRW Kabupaten Jeneponto 2010-2030. Tamarunang Beach has many tourism attraction potentials. Development strategy of the Tamarunang Beach was formulated by using SWOT or IFAS and EFAS analysis. Then, zoning analysis was conducted by divide the area into several segments to apply the strategy into the zones base on its potential. The policy was arrange from the previous analysis including development of tourism attraction zone and coastal tourism facilities in Tamarunang.

Abstract

Minapolitan is the concept of marine based on economic development region. Development of the Minapolitan area should be supported by adequate infrastructure. As the area is planned to be Minapolitan, the district of Mattiro Sompe, Pinrang regency, requires infrastructure planning in order to encourage fishing activities which develop in the area. This study aims to identify the availability and the needs of Minapolitan infrastructure, as well as the planning concept of Minapolitan infrastructure in Mattiro Sompe district, Pinrang. The study was conducted using qualitative and quantitative methods resulting the description about the availability of Minapolitan infrastructure as well as estimated Minapolitan infrastructure for the future. The study resulted the planning concept of Minapolitan infrastructure to increase the fisheries production and develop regional economic, as well as the zoning concept to distribute the facilities in Mattiro Sompe district.

Abstract

Floods are the events of the over flowing of water onto land. Floods often occurs in the Biringkanaya District of Makassar city. The research aim is to identify the flood vulnerability spot in Biringkanaya District using spatial analysis and calculation methods of rational water discharge and Darcy’s law. These methods are combined to identify the level of flooding vulnerability. The result shows that flood vulnerability spot in Biringkanaya District were located in every sub district which consists of a high, medium and low vulnerability state. The highest flood vulnerability is Paccerakkang and Sudiang Raya sub district.

Abstract

Green open space in urban areas, especially in residential neighborhood, is important to be provided because the increasing of human activities in urban areas encourages the emergence of various environmental issues like vehicle pollution, flooding, decreasing of quality and quantity of groundwater and so forth. This research was conducted to assess the condition and the use of public green open space, to describe the type of public green open space and its existing plants, to identify the provision of green public open space provided at housing and settlement in Sinrijala district. The analytical methods used were descriptive qualitative, quantitative as well as superimpose analysis (overlay technique). The result of this research was the condition and the uses of the existing public green open space in Sinrijala district were not well organized and integrated in the city. Many public green open spaces have not been fully utilized for public interest. The types of public green open space in Sinrijala were public cemetery, green belt of river/canal and green line of road. The allocations of the public green open space in Sinrijala district is 60.66% based on superimpose analysis.

Abstract

Economic structure of developed region is characterized by increasingly large role of manufacturing and trade sector to sustain the region's economy. The amount of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of South Sulawesi province shows its economy is getting better for years. GDP value is influenced by main contribution of manufacturing sector and other sectors such as agriculture, trading, and services that make economic developed. To develop manufacturing sector, the government of South Sulawesi needs information that is more detail about how big the share of manufacturing sector to the economic development. This research uses Input Output (IO) matrix for analyzing the economic development of South Sulawesi Province that linkages between manufacturing within its sectors. The result of this analysis, it can be found that there are two sectors have high attractive index and sensitivity degree, that are, chemical goods, paper and other paper or cardboard and products, and printed items. If there are increasing final demand of subsector chemicals goods, the demand of 21 input subsectors will raise too. This fact can influence the whole of economic development in South Sulawesi Province. In addition, this study obtained a multiplier coefficient of income and employment that describe the economic condition of South Sulawesi Province.

Abstract

The growth of cities is in line with the development of transportation technology. Land use change, especially residential area tend to follow the availability of the transport network. Transportation and land use are closely related and have specific purpose in planning. The purpose of transportation system planning is to provide facilities for the movement of passengers and goods from one place to another. While the purpose of land use planning is to achieve the function of the buildings. Mamminasata region, the one of metropolitan cities in Indonesia, including Makassar City, Sungguminasa City, Maros Regency and Takalar Regency, should have an integrated planning for transportation sector. Development of Mamminasata region led to the new activity centers and new settlements such as the new Hertasning road. New Hertasning Street is the corridor that connect Makassar City and Sungguminasa City (Gowa Regency) in the southeast of the Mamminasata Region. The development of the new road changed agriculture uses to residential uses. This study examines the effect of development of new road toward land use changes. Land use changes using three variables: changes in land use, land use intensity and land price. This study used data inventory, comparative and mapping overlay analysis. The result of this analysis indicates the development of new road caused land use change along the corridor.

Abstract

Pattingalloang District is one of the settlement areas including very high building and population density, and even tend to be a slum area. There are several identificated issues presented in this study include building structure and environmental conditions which are not suitable. Facilities and infrastructure inadequate settlements and economic conditions that still need improvement. The purpose of this study is to determine the physical and non-physical characteristics of existing settlements in Pattingalloang District as well as the concept of arrangement in accordance with the characteristics of settlements in the area. This study included in the descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative benchmarks. The analytical methods used include spatial, quantitative, qualitative and comparative. The results show some physical conditions of settlements in Pattigalloang District are inadequate including building structure, infrastructure, social and economic conditions. One of the concepts that can be proposed is the concept of arrangement as an effort to increase the quality of living environment that can indirectly help foster economic improvement of society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions and preferences of visitors to the public space facilities in the Kota Mara. This research uses qualititave and quantitative research. The number of respondent is 210 samples. Sample selection uses nonprobability purposive sampling technique by means of type purposive and accidental sampling. Data were collected using observation method, and questionnaire with Likert Scale. Data analysis methods used is the frequency distribution analysis and multinomial regression analysis. The result of this study outlines that 1) Available means of support space Kota Mara, namely: achievement building, Islamic center, plaza/exhibition halls, parks/green corridors, pedestrian paths, bins and street vendor stalls. 2) Visitor perceptions of the availability of supporting facilities in the Public Space of Kota Mara among other: means of parking spaces is quite good, and the perception of visitors to the facilities building achievements, islamic center, plaza/exhibition halls, parks/green corridors, pedestrian paths, bins and street vendor stalls is good.
