Abstract

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MUSYAWARAH METHOD TO IMPROVE MAHARAH QIROAH AND MASTER NAHWU SHOROF IN KITAB KUNING LEARNING FOR 12TH GRADE STUDENTS OF MADRASAH ALIYAH SALAFIYYAH SYAFI’IYAH TEBUIRENG JOMBANG This study aims to describe the implementation of the musyawarah (discussion-based) method in the learning of kitab turats (classical Islamic texts) and to analyze its role in improving reading skills and mastery of Arabic grammar (nahwu and sharaf) among twelfth-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Tebuireng Jombang. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the musyawarah method was implemented through text reading, group discussions, textual analysis, presentation of discussion results, and teacher reinforcement. The implementation of this method effectively improved students’ ability to read kitab turats, comprehend textual content, and master the rules of nahwu and sharaf. Furthermore, the method enhanced students’ active participation, critical thinking skills, communication abilities, and self-confidence during the learning process. The successful implementation of the musyawarah method was supported by teachers’ competence, a conducive pesantren environment, students’ learning motivation, and effective group collaboration. Meanwhile, the obstacles encountered included differences in students’ academic abilities, limited instructional time, and the low self-confidence of some students. Therefore, the musyawarah method is considered effective for teaching kitab turats and improving both students’ academic and social competencies.
