Abstract

The transformation of the 2026 National Curriculum requires adaptive leadership from school principals to implement deep learning, differentiated learning, coding, and compulsory English in elementary schools. This descriptive qualitative case study aims to analyze the role of the adaptive leadership of the principal of SDN Bono Magelang in facilitating adaptation to these changes, identifying the strategies implemented, and examining their impact on curriculum implementation. A purposive sample included the principal, three teachers from grades 3–6, and one parent representative, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis of the 2026 Curriculum Lesson Plans (RPP). Miles & Huberman thematic analysis was employed to process the data, supported by source triangulation. The results indicate that strategies of flexibility (hybrid training), collaboration (teacher-student-parent teams for deep learning projects), and technology integration (Google Classroom with hotspot subsidies) successfully reduced teacher resistance by 70%, increased lesson plan readiness by 90%, and improved student learning interest by 25%. Rural infrastructure challenges were addressed through a humanistic approach and incentives. In conclusion, adaptive leadership is essential for the successful implementation of the 2026 Curriculum in areas such as Grabag Magelang, with implications for a replication model for elementary schools in Central Java..

Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal’s management in optimizing teachers’ potential and school resources to improve the quality of learning and school branding at SD Negeri Karangdukuh. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal and teachers. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the principal implements potential-based management through four main stages: planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. The principal is able to identify teachers’ potential and assign them according to their competencies, effectively manage school facilities and infrastructure, and foster a collaborative working culture. The impact of this management is reflected in the improvement of learning quality, the achievement of school accomplishments that had not previously been attained—at least at the sub-district level—and the increase in student enrollment. Therefore, potential-based principal management has been proven to significantly contribute to improving educational quality and strengthening the school’s image.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze comprehensively the innovator role of the school principal in implementing the eight dimensions of graduate profiles through co-curricular programs at MI YAPPI Peyuyon, Semanu, Gunungkidul. The primary focus of this research is how leadership innovation can address educational challenges in the era of the Merdeka Curriculum, which demands flexibility and contextualization of character values within habituation activities. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach to explore leadership phenomena naturalistically. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with key informants, participatory observation of students’ routine activities, and documentation studies of curriculum documents and character portfolios. Data analysis utilized the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the school principal acts as a catalyst for innovation through three primary strategies: 1) Policy transformation integrating the madrasah vision with national graduate profile indicators; 2) Development of a collaborative school ecosystem involving synergy among educators, educational staff, and parents; and 3) Utilization of local resources (Semanu local wisdom) as the foundational material for co-curricular programs. The findings further reveal that the implementation of the eight dimensions of graduate profiles (faith, citizenship, critical reasoning, creativity, collaboration, independence, health, and communication) demonstrates a significant improvement in the habituation of students’ character behavior. This is evidenced by the increasing student independence in the learning process and the strengthening of communication ethics. Despite being constrained by limited rural infrastructure and digital access, the school principal’s innovation in the form of “contextual instructional modification” proved capable of sustaining program continuity. This study recommends the necessity of strengthening innovation literacy among school principals in rural areas in order to optimize environmental potential as a medium for authentic character development.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education requires elementary schools to manage facilities and infrastructure effectively in order to support digital-based learning processes. This study aims to describe the management process of digital facilities and infrastructure, which includes planning, procurement, and maintenance, as well as the effectiveness of such management in supporting the success of digital-based learning at Public Elementary Schools in Ngawen District, Klaten Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 78 respondents consisting of principals, teachers, and administrative staff from several Public Elementary Schools in Ngawen District. The data analysis techniques employed were descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The findings indicate that the management of digital facilities and infrastructure falls within the good category, with an achievement percentage of 78.6%. The planning aspect obtained the highest score compared to procurement and maintenance. Digital-based learning also demonstrated a high level of effectiveness, particularly in the indicators of material accessibility and student engagement. The results of the regression analysis indicate that facilities and infrastructure management has a significant effect on the effectiveness of digital-based learning, with a coefficient of determination of 64.2%. This study confirms that the success of digital learning is determined not only by the availability of technology, but also by the quality of systematic and sustainable management of educational facilities.

Abstract

Teacher performance serves as the primary benchmark in advancing the quality of basic education. However, the 2025 Education Report Card recorded that 34.48% of elementary schools in Ngawen District had inadequate learning quality. This fact was reinforced by supervision results showing that 53% of teachers had not completed administrative requirements, and 65% had not varied their teaching methods. These conditions are assumed to occur due to the less-than-optimal leadership of principals in providing supervision, motivation, and innovation. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the extent of the influence of principal leadership on the performance of elementary school teachers in the Ngawen District, Klaten. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method, the sample was selected through proportional random sampling techniques. Based on the results of questionnaire data analysis using simple linear regression, it was concluded that there is a positive and significant influence between principal leadership and teacher performance. This means that the better the level of leadership, the higher the teacher performance. This study once again highlights the importance of the principal’s role as a supervisor, innovator, and motivator for teachers..

Abstract

A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW ON INNOVATIVE APPROACHES IN EARLY NUMERACY EDUCATION: THE CASE OF SMART DAKON GAME MODIFICATION Numeracy problems in childhood are a critical issue that can significantly impact children's academic success in the future. Many children as young as three years old show difficulty in understanding basic numerical concepts. So, engaging media is needed to facilitate children's understanding of numeracy. The modification of the Dapin game is a medium that can be used to identify early numeracy and analyze the effectiveness of the Dapin game modification in improving early numeracy in children. This systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA model with databases of articles from Scopus, Google Scholar, and PubMed from 2014 to 2024. The main results of this study show that children's ability to count in the correct order, one-to-one correspondence, and cardinality using Dapin significantly improved, while modified Dapin games were very effective in helping children enhance their early numeracy. By using Dapin, in addition to stimulating early numeracy in children, they also become accustomed to communicating using polite words, sharing, cooperating, developing fine motor skills, being responsible, and becoming familiar with traditional games.
