Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between emotional intelligence, organizational culture, and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) among management employees in a type C hospital established in 2021. Using a quantitative approach, the research applied a saturated sampling technique involving 55 respondents. Data were analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through SmartPLS 4.0.9.9 to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings indicate that emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on OCB, suggesting that employees with higher emotional intelligence tend to demonstrate stronger discretionary behaviors that benefit the organization. Similarly, organizational culture also shows a positive and significant effect on OCB, highlighting the role of shared values and norms in encouraging supportive behaviors among employees. However, the moderating effect of organizational culture on the relationship between emotional intelligence and OCB was not supported in this study. From a managerial perspective, the results provide practical implications: management should focus on developing programs to enhance employees’ emotional intelligence and foster a strong organizational culture. These efforts are essential to sustain positive behaviors beyond formal job descriptions, ultimately contributing to improved organizational effectiveness and service quality.

Abstract

Tourism is a key sector that contributes significantly to regional economic growth and national development, particularly as a source of foreign exchange. This sector generates income by utilising the beauty of nature and cultural diversity without directly exploiting natural resources. However, the rapid growth of tourism often leads to challenges such as environmental degradation, ecosystem disruption, and unsustainable tourist behaviour. Ecotourism has emerged as an alternative model for sustainable tourism development, emphasising environmental conservation, local community empowerment, and the preservation of socio-cultural values. Mangrove forests hold great potential for Ecotourism due to their critical ecological functions and economic value if managed wisely. Sustainable tourism is essential for mangrove ecotourism development, focusing on maximising positive impacts while minimising negative ones on the environment, culture, and local communities. This study aims to identify ecotourism practices in the mangrove area of Lembung Village, Pamekasan, and formulate strategic concepts for sustainable ecotourism management based on the local economy. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving stakeholders such as ecotourism managers, village officials, local entrepreneurs, community members, and tourists. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for developing integrated mangrove ecotourism that balances environmental conservation, community empowerment, and the preservation of local cultural heritage in a sustainable manner. These insights contribute to the literature on community-based Ecotourism and offer practical guidance for sustainable mangrove tourism management. The results of the SWOT analysis indicate an aggressive strategy that focuses on utilising internal strengths and external opportunities, including the establishment of BUMDes and cooperatives as the management institutional framework

Abstract

The shifting position of MS Glow in the local beauty industry reflects significant competitive dynamics. The brand ranked first in 2022, dropped to second place in 2023, and fell to fourth place by mid-2024. This decline was influenced by customer complaints related to prolonged acne, decreased product quality, and the growing reliance on online reviews in purchasing decisions. This study aims to analyse the influence of online customer reviews and product quality on purchase decisions, with brand trust as a mediating variable, focusing on MS Glow facial cleanser products. A quantitative approach was employed by distributing questionnaires to 220 female respondents aged 18–35 who purchased the products through online stores. Data were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. The results indicate that online customer reviews have a positive but insignificant impact on brand trust, whereas product quality has a positive and statistically significant effect on brand trust. Both online reviews and product quality have a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions, as does brand trust. Brand trust does not mediate the influence of online reviews on purchase decisions but does mediate the influence of product quality on purchase decisions. Managerial implications suggest that MS Glow should prioritise consistent product quality improvement to strengthen brand trust and encourage purchases. Strategic management of online reviews remains essential to building a positive brand image, alongside prompt responses to customer complaints to maintain loyalty in a competitive market.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and explain the influence of organisational culture and work engagement on nurse performance through job satisfaction as an intermediary variable at XYZ Hospital. This is a quantitative study with a population of 87 nurses in the inpatient unit and a saturated sampling technique. The statistical analysis used in this study is Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with the assistance of Smart Partial Least Square (PLS) 3.2.9 software. The results of this study indicate that work engagement and job satisfaction influence nurse performance, organisational culture does not influence nurse performance, organisational culture and work engagement influence job satisfaction, and job satisfaction mediates the influence of organisational culture and work engagement on nurse performance. The practical implications of this study suggest that hospital management needs to maintain consistency and enhance programmes that can improve work engagement and job satisfaction, such as providing recognition and rewards for performance, implementing regular mentoring programmes, involving nurses in decision-making, conducting periodic nurse satisfaction surveys, and creating an open and participatory work culture through improved vertical and horizontal communication.

Abstract

Competition among universities drives efforts to improve institutional quality and reputation, both of which depend on the delivery of high-quality academic services. The learning process is a core activity in higher education and represents one of the main academic services. As the primary providers of these services, lecturers play a crucial role in the teaching and learning process. These institutional demands can create competitive pressure that shapes a competitive psychological climate in the workplace. This climate can influence lecturers' career success, either positively or negatively. This study aims to analyze the effect of competitive psychological climate on career success through work engagement as a mediating variable among lecturers at Universitas. A quantitative approach was employed, using descriptive analysis through categorization and inferential analysis through Structural Equation Modelling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), supported by SmartPLS 4 software. The findings indicate that competitive psychological climate has a significant positive effect on both career success and work engagement. Additionally, work engagement has a substantial and positive impact on career success, and it has been proven to mediate the relationship between competitive psychological climate and career success. These findings highlight the importance of lecturer engagement in managing competitive environments to foster positive career outcomes at Universitas.

Abstract

Employee performance is a crucial factor that determines an organization's success in achieving its goals. This study aims to analyze the influence of online training and career development on employee performance at one of the state-owned enterprises in the financial services sector, specifically at a branch office located in Sidoarjo. This study employs a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used is a census (saturation sampling), where all 33 permanent employees at PT Pegadaian Branch Office Sidoarjo serve as research respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results indicate that, partially, online training does not have a significant impact on employee performance. Conversely, career development was found to have a positive and significant impact on employee performance. Simultaneously, online training and career development together were proven to have a significant impact on employee performance at PT Pegadaian Branch Office Sidoarjo. This study reinforces existing theory and provides practical implications for the management of PT Pegadaian Sidoarjo Branch Office to evaluate and align career development policies to be more fair and responsive. The aim is to ensure equal opportunities for all levels of employees, which will ultimately improve overall organizational performance through data-driven human resource management
