Abstract

The conduct of civic teaching up to now still faces some barriers and limitations so its mission to make good citizen is not yet being realized in value-based education corridor. Based this reality, it is imperative to conduct a comprehension study on basic problems so the civic education can be empowered as a poweifu1 learning area characterized by contextual learning experience such as meaningful, integrated, value-based, challenging, and activating. Through these kinds of learning experiences, student be facilitated in constructing democratic civic knowledge, attitude, and skills in constructive psycho-pedagogic corridor.

Abstract

The content standard of civic education for the elementary level and junior high level consist of minimum materials and minimum competency, there are standard competency and basic compe­tency of civic education subject that should be studied by the students. The next definition of contain standard is to arrange Curriculum of Educational Level, syllabi, and Study Imple­mentation Planning. The Civic Education learning stand on the process standard that is the learning process that done interactively, inspirationally, fon, challenging, motivating the student to be actively participated; and also give enough spaces for the initiates, creatively, and indepen­dency based on the talent, enthusiasm, and the student physical and development: Substantially, the Civic Education contains, according to the contain standard are similar with the subject contain of the Civic Education based on the 2004 Curriculum. Thereby, the Civic Education teachers can use the 2004 Civic Education Curriculum guide in order to develop the materials and the school Civic Education Learning.

Abstract

Many researches has been done in searching the advantages and disadvantages, both Cooperative and Competitive model of teaching, each of them has marry advantages. Accordingly, the rest task of teachers is to take the advantages and eliminate its disadvantages. This article tries to propose Team Game Tournament as a means in integrating cooperative and competitive aspects of instructional activity. With its distinctive feature, TGT can combines both cooperative and competitive spirits of student as a result, hopefully, student' achievement will increase. Implementation of TGT in some right occasion is one of means in increasing instructional effectiveness.

Abstract

The draft of core curriculum (national curriculum) if undergraduate program if civic education (S1) is developed upon the agreement between civic education departments from sev­eral higher education institutions /faculties of teacher training and education accepted partner­ship block grant for developing the core curriculum This draft is hoped to be accepted as standard both for those in agreement and not. The core curriculum is developed from the essences of field of study, namely social, profes­sional, personal, and pedagogic competences. From these essences of field study, learning experiences; facilities, education; and academic qualification of lecturer are developed: It was agreed that 60% of the total credits is developed from these essences of field study and the rest (40%) is delegated to each institution in developing

Abstract

The teaching of Civic Education in Indonesia, especially on politics, from the perspire if its content is the most dynamic element in comparison to moral rapid change due to reformation undergone in Indonesia since May, 20 1998 or often is called as transitional democracy. In the period of transitional democracy since that time up to the end of 2006, many aspects of political affair has been changing radically both in super structures and in infrastruc­tures politic. As a result, the teaching of civic education, especially on politic as its materials, needs of handling of political cases accurately. The goal is to avoid misconception; its ap­proaches, as well as its methods of teaching.

Abstract

Human Rights are a fundamental problem in every country. especially in the developing countries such as Indonesia. Even though, the state had given protection of human right for everybody, but in Indonesia there are many breakdowns of it. As a democratic state, Indonesia has to regard human right. It is because the human rights were the core of democratic principle. So, the human rights must be trained in the school for every student. By using this way, everybody can know what their rights and obligations very well Civics education can be a vehicle for this goal, because it's one of lessons that talk about human rights and be learned in all school.

Abstract

Expectation which still be remained from Indonesian nation in order to get out of various crises is by improving education system. National education is aimed at developing the competence of student to become pious and religious human which have civilized and kindness, healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, self-supporting, and become democratic citizen and responsible. Civic Education owns the strategic role in forming demo­cratic and responsible citizen and building the democratic society. Hoped competences after undergoing civic education is the awning of a set smart action, full of responsibility from a citizen in relating to state, and also able to have a share in finding various problem faced by the society, nation and state as according to profession and capacities of each.
