Abstract

General Background: Islamic market principles emphasize fairness, justice, and transparency in economic transactions, reflecting ethical values foundational to Islamic teachings. Spesific Background: In the modern business environment, implementing these principles poses challenges, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) striving to balance ethical standards with market competitiveness. Knowledge Gap: Limited research exists on the practical application of Islamic economic principles in contemporary business contexts, especially within local SME settings. Aims: This study investigates how Toko Hore, a business in Sangatta Utara, implements Islamic market principles, drawing from Ibn Taymiyyah's economic thoughts. Results: Findings indicate that Toko Hore incorporates key elements of fairness, justice, and transparency in its operations. However, it encounters obstacles in maintaining these principles amidst the pressures of modern market dynamics. These challenges include limited resources, consumer preferences, and competitive pressures. Novelty: This research uniquely bridges classical Islamic economic theories with real-world applications in the SME context, offering fresh perspectives on the adaptability of ethical principles in modern commerce. Implications: The study provides valuable insights for businesses and policymakers aiming to integrate Islamic economic principles into contemporary market frameworks, highlighting the need for innovative strategies to overcome practical challenges.

Abstract

General Background: Ensuring the balance between value and material production through credit collateralization is fundamental for national economic development. Spesific Background: The principle underpinning credit collateralization emphasizes that each bank fund involved in economic turnover must correspond to specific tangible assets. This alignment secures the credits provided by banks to national economy sectors. Knowledge Gap: Despite the critical role of collateralization, the impact of unsecured loans on bank liquidity and monetary circulation under market economy conditions remains underexplored. Aims: This study aims to analyze the implications of unsecured loans on banks’ financial stability and provide a framework for securing credits with tangible assets in market economies. Results: The findings indicate that unsecured loans significantly disrupt bank liquidity, increase risks in monetary circulation, and compromise economic stability. In contrast, loans secured with tangible assets enhance financial resilience and economic equilibrium. Novelty: The research highlights a systematic approach to mitigating liquidity risks by reinforcing the importance of collateralized loans in market-oriented economies, offering a detailed evaluation of their macroeconomic impacts. Implications: The study underscores the necessity for regulatory frameworks to enforce collateralization practices, promoting sustainable financial practices and bolstering economic stability in national economies.

Abstract

General Background: The poultry industry plays a vital role in meeting the demand for essential food ingredients, particularly chicken meat, which is a staple protein source. Specific Background: However, a decline in sales revenue and market instability faced by poultry supplier companies necessitates strategic solutions to address these challenges. Knowledge Gap: Despite the availability of business strategies, limited research focuses on targeted approaches for optimizing market expansion in poultry distribution. Aims: This study aims to design a business strategy for a poultry supplier company to enhance its sales performance, specifically in chicken meat distribution, through the application of the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) method. Methods: Utilizing a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research was conducted from February to June 2024, involving four informants. Data were collected through interviews and observations, with source triangulation employed to ensure validity. Results: The SWOT analysis revealed that the company is positioned in Quadrant II, signifying the need to address weaknesses to leverage opportunities. Strategies identified include market penetration and market development to secure and expand into new markets. The study prioritizes market penetration through the expansion of chicken meat distribution across Surabaya, supported by technology-driven promotional efforts such as product marketing and content creation. Novelty: This research offers a tailored approach by integrating strategic planning with technological applications to address market-specific challenges. Implications: The findings provide actionable insights for poultry suppliers, highlighting the importance of technological utilization and strategic market expansion to achieve sustainable growth and improve competitiveness in the food supply industry.

Abstract

General Background: Academic fraud is a persistent challenge in higher education, undermining the integrity of academic institutions and compromising educational outcomes. Spesific Background: Yogyakarta, as a hub of higher education in Indonesia, faces increasing concerns regarding academic cheating among students, calling for a deeper understanding of its underlying causes and mitigating factors. Knowledge Gap: Despite the prevalence of studies on academic dishonesty, limited research explores the role of intrinsic factors such as student learning motivation in the context of academic fraud. Aims: This study aims to investigate the determinants of academic cheating by examining the influence of pressure, ability, opportunity, and rationalization. Additionally, it evaluates the role of learning motivation in moderating academic fraud. Results: The findings reveal that pressure does not significantly influence academic fraud, while ability, opportunity, and rationalization positively affect such behavior. Conversely, learning motivation demonstrates a negative effect on academic cheating, indicating its protective role. Novelty: By integrating the Fraud Diamond Theory with the learning motivation variable, this study offers a novel approach to understanding academic fraud in higher education. Implications: The findings provide theoretical insights into the interplay between fraud determinants and motivational factors. Practically, they enable educational institutions to design targeted interventions and prevention strategies to minimize academic dishonesty and foster a culture of integrity among students.

Abstract

Objective: The study highlights critical challenges in the agricultural sector, particularly focusing on imbalances in the provision of material and technical resources to farms. Additionally, it examines the effects of monopolistic practices in resource production and supply, which exacerbate these imbalances and hinder sectoral growth. Method: A qualitative approach was employed, involving an in-depth analysis of resource allocation systems and supply chain structures within the agricultural industry. Data were collected from various case studies and reports to understand the extent and impact of resource imbalances and monopolistic tendencies. Results: Findings reveal that a significant disparity exists in the availability and distribution of essential resources, disproportionately affecting small-scale farmers. The monopolistic control over resource production and distribution further aggravates the issue, leading to inefficiencies and increased costs for farmers. These challenges collectively contribute to stagnation in agricultural productivity and sustainability. Novelty: This research underscores the dual impact of resource imbalances and monopolistic practices as interconnected issues, rather than treating them as isolated problems. By identifying their combined influence, the study offers a comprehensive perspective on systemic challenges in agriculture, paving the way for more targeted interventions and policy reforms.
