Abstract

Learning processes of biology in SMA use worksheets corresponding to the school environment and students reasoning level but they not facilitate students to concepts. Based are this reason, the research aims to produce worksheets based on Guided Discovery on the topic of human digestive system. The development of worksheets used 4D models and the worksheets were tried out to 30 students of class XI by design of One Shoot Case Study. Data analysis was conducted descriptively. The results of this research shows that the worksheets based on Guided Discovery are feasible with score 3,0 – 4,0. Keywords: worksheets, Guided Discovery, digestive system

Abstract

Digestive system is one of the material that must be comprehended by students grade XI. For this matter would be simply understand by students, it is should added experiment activity in learning process on matter human digestive system. In general experiment activity on matter human digestive is food contens test like carbohydrate, lipid, and protein. Learners are given a different experience from the usual practice. It required another practical alternative to the digestive system, such as formalin test and test caffeine levels. The objectives of this research is to produce and to described the theoritical feasibility of student worksheet. This research conducted based on Four-D (4-D) development methods. The result of this research indicates that developed student worksheets based on problem based learning on the matter human digestive system as learning media could be declared feasible with worksheets validation 97%. Abstract

The study kingdom of animal can be tought with direct observation. One of the approaches that can used is constructivism. The purpose of this were to develop worksheet experiment by constructivism Phylum Mollusca in grade X Senior High School to describe theoretical feasibility of worksheet based on the expert validation and describe the empirical feasibility of the worksheet based on student’s activity and student’s responses. This research was development research which used 4D models, which cinsisted of four steps, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, the step of dissemintate was not be done.. The results showed that the theoretical fesibility got average scores 3,54 (very good). The based of student activity showed that worksheet got average scores 94.66% (very good). The result of student responses showed got positive responses from students namely 89.4% (very good). Abstract

Student Worksheets of Group Investigation help students to solve the problems they found in learning. This research aimed to produce Ecosystem Student Worksheets which are theoretically feasible. Theoretical feasibility was got from worksheets validity by Biology lecturers and teacher. The validation worksheets aspects are presentation, language and readability, conformance with Group Investigation method, conformance worksheets content with Ecosystem concept, and conformance worksheets content with learning objectives. This development research used 4-D model which consists of four phases. The average score of validation worksheets are 3,47 and get very feasible category that they are feasible to be applyed in learning. Keywords: worksheets, Group Investigation, Ecosystem

Abstract

Joyful learning can be performed by using appropriate media and learning resources. Comic is a visual media which contain of illustration, text, color, and paragraph that joined in a plot of story. The purposes of this research were to develop comic Arthropoda as educational media in grade X Senior High School and to describe theoretical feasibility of comic based on the expert’s validation. This research was development research which used 4D models, which consisted of four steps, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, the step of disseminate was not be done. Abstract

Phylum Platyhelminthes, Nemathelminthes, and Annelida are studied in biology of grade X of senior high school, however the students get difficulty in distinguishing these three phyla because of similarities features. Therefore, direct observation of the objects are needed, hence the students can abtain concept by learning, not only memorizing. Observation can be done in learning using Concept Attainment Model (CAM). This study aimed to develop student observation-worksheet using CAM of subsubject Phylum Platyhelminthes, Nemathelminthes, and Annelida as well as describe theoretical feasibility of student observation-worksheets using CAM of subsubject Phylum Platyhelminthes, Nemathelminthes, and Annelida. The students worksheets were developed by using the Four-D models (define, design, develop, and disseminate), but the last stage was not done. Development was conducted during the January-September 2013. The theoretical feasibility of student worksheets was reviewed based on the result of the validation conducted by two lecturers and two biology teachers of senior high school on the feasibility of content, language, and presentation. Theoretical feasibility of the worksheets based on the results of expert validation was 3.75 (very good). Abstract

Writing biology tests for Grade X, the biology teachers of SMA Negeri 2 Mejayan do not perform a qualitative review maximally before they apply them as a test instrument for their students. This shows that the biology teachers of SMA Negeri 2 Mejayan do not apply the procedure of how to write tests in accordance with the standard. This thesis is aimed to know the logical validity dealing with the aspects of materials, constructions, and languages, and revise the tests to make them more valid. This thesis took use of Deskriptive Qualitative Method. The samples of Biology-Test Bank were determined by Purposive Sampling Technique. Meanwhile, data were collected using Documentation Method. The logical validity was qualitatively reviewed based on aspects in the instrument. The review reveals that most multiple-choice tests are suitable to the aspects of materials, constructions, and languages. Some items need revision for the aspect of constructions. All of essay-tests meet all the aspects of review. Therefore, most test items have good logical-validity because they fulfill standard needs, but some items need to be revised for the aspect of constructions. The revision have been done, so that all test items are valid and suitable to an acceptable standard Keywords: qualitative analysis, test bank, logical validity.

Abstract

The rule of education ministry and BSNP strengthen that the curriculum of formal and non-formal educations have the importance to develop learning which is oriented to life skill. The skill has its purpose to reach the students’ competence for their survival and adaptation in order to be successful in their life. Based on this explanation, the researcher developed a student worksheet which is oriented to life skill using 4-D model. The goal of the development of the student worksheet oriented to life skill which is practiced and can be prepared at school. The results showed that the worksheet valid from identity component, technical, construction, content and the life skill characteristics. The students’ positive response to the student worksheet which is oriented to life skill reach 84% with a good category. Keyword: Student Worksheet, Life skill, Human Sense

Abstract

Implementation of curriculum 2013 had a lot constraints, namely some material requires learning media to reach the goal of basic competencies, for example chromosome mutation material. Biology teacher of SMAN Kesamben stated that they facing difficulty in presenting the chromosome mutation material. Observation indicated that 84.3% of students said it was difficult to learn complex concepts and 100% of students required the learning media to help concepts understanding. Karyotype magnetic board is kind of learning media that able to solve that problem. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of karyotype magnetic board media theoretically based on the results of the media validation and empirically based on student responses and student learning outcomes. Research and Development (R&D) method was used in this study. The media development was started on November 2013 to April 2014 in the Department of Biology, FMIPA, State University of Surabaya. Media trial was conducted in SMAN Kesamben Jombang on March 18, 2014. The results showed the quality aspect of media got a percentage of 98.25%, the effectiveness aspect of the media got a percentage of 93.25%, the material aspect of the concept got a percentage of 97.5%, and aspect of language got a percentage of 100%. All of them included into very well criteria. Overall the karyotype magnetic board media is good based on theoretical feasibilty with a percentage of 97.8%. Empirical feasibility got percentage of 95.48% and 100% based on student responses and learning outcomes, respectively. Classical completeness average score is 89.25. Abstract

The development of one stay two stray learning package on vertebrate topic has been conducted. This study aimes to produce learning package using cooperative learning model with One Stay Two Stray type which is feasible and describe the theoretical and empirical feasibilities of the package. This research was done using the 4-D model. However, it was done for the first three stages. The results show that the lesson plan gets 3,71 of score, and the Student Worksheet gets 3,83. Lesson plan implementation get the score of 3,87. In addition, student’s activities were different for every meeting, and there was no irrelevant activity. Score of spiritual competence was 3,6 and social competence was 3,5. The mastery of knowledge competence was 100%. All of the students gave positive responses to the lesson that used One Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning model. Based on all of the results, it can be concluded that the learning package is feasible theoretically and empirically.
