Abstract

Indonesia's National Qualifications Framework (IQF/KKNI), established under Presidential Regulation No. 8 of 2012, was designed to integrate competencies acquired through formal education, non-formal education, vocational training, work experience, and lifelong learning into a unified national qualification system. The framework was originally intended to promote continuous competency development while recognizing learning outcomes obtained through multiple pathways. However, its implementation has gradually shifted its emphasis from competency development toward competency validation, with competency certification increasingly functioning as a mechanism for verifying existing competencies rather than facilitating continuous capability enhancement. This implementation shift has narrowed the strategic role of the National Qualifications Framework in supporting lifelong learning, workforce development, and inclusive productivity. This study examines the philosophical and regulatory foundations of Indonesia's National Qualifications Framework to identify the factors contributing to this implementation shift and its implications for competency policy. The study employs a qualitative conceptual research design integrating doctrinal legal analysis, conceptual policy analysis, and a systematic review of competency development and National Qualifications Framework literature. The analysis indicates that the current implementation places greater emphasis on competency assessment and certification than on structured competency development through education, vocational training, workplace learning, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), thereby creating a conceptual inconsistency with the original philosophy of the framework. The study argues that competency certification should function as the outcome of continuous competency development rather than its primary objective. Accordingly, it proposes a reinterpretation of the implementation philosophy of Indonesia's National Qualifications Framework by restoring competency development as its central orientation. This reinterpretation contributes to the international discourse on National Qualifications Frameworks by providing a policy perspective on how implementation shifts can alter the original objectives of qualification systems and offers recommendations for strengthening lifelong learning, workforce capability, and sustainable productivity.

Abstract

This research aims to design and develop a web-based Point of Sale (POS) information system to overcome operational challenges at Warung Bang Nopi, a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) in Central Jakarta. The existing manual management leads to inaccurate inventory tracking, lost debt records, unrecorded transaction history, and financial calculation errors. To address these issues, the system was modeled using Unified Modeling Language (UML) with three main actors (Owner, Admin, and Cashier). The software was developed using the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture, utilizing the CodeIgniter framework, PHP programming language, and MySQL DBMS. Functional testing using Black-box testing confirmed that all features operate properly. The final result is a POS system that automates store operations, prevents the loss of debt records, and secures real-time financial reporting. Consequently, this system significantly enhances daily operational efficiency and supports strategic decision-making for the business.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Green Banking on firm value, with operational efficiency (BOPO) as a mediating variable in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2025 period. Firm value is measured using Price to Book Value (PBV), Green Banking is proxied by the Green Financing Ratio, while operational efficiency is measured using BOPO (Operating Expenses to Operating Income). The sample consists of 29 banking companies with 145 bank-year observations. The data were analyzed using panel data regression and mediation analysis. The results show that Green Banking has a positive and significant effect on firm value, with a coefficient of 0.05092 and a probability value of 0.0016. Furthermore, Green Banking has a significant effect on operational efficiency, as measured by BOPO, with a coefficient of 0.36326 and a probability value of 0.0179. Operational efficiency, as measured by BOPO, also has a significant effect on firm value, with a coefficient of 0.03201 and a probability value of 0.0008. The mediation analysis indicates that the indirect effect of Green Banking on firm value through BOPO is 0.01163 and statistically significant at the 5% level (p = 0.0487). Since the direct effect of Green Banking on firm value remains significant after BOPO is included in the model, BOPO functions as a partial mediator. These findings indicate that the implementation of Green Banking is not only relevant from a sustainability perspective but also contributes to firm value creation through operational mechanisms. Therefore, banks should integrate sustainable financing practices with effective operational management to maximize the contribution of Green Banking to firm value.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in Indonesia’s economy, particularly in employment generation and contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In the digital era, MSMEs are required to possess adaptive capabilities to survive and compete in an increasingly dynamic business environment. This study aims to analyze the role of digital literacy and entrepreneurial orientation in shaping MSME business agility in Indonesia. The research employs a quantitative explanatory approach using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The study population consists of MSME actors who have adopted digital technology in their business activities, with respondents selected through purposive sampling techniques. The findings indicate that digital literacy has a positive and significant effect on business agility with a path coefficient value of 0.318 and a t-statistic of 3.912. Digital literacy also positively influences entrepreneurial orientation with a path coefficient of 0.764 and a t-statistic of 12.871. Furthermore, entrepreneurial orientation has a positive and significant effect on business agility with a path coefficient of 0.547 and a t-statistic of 6.438. The mediation test results reveal that entrepreneurial orientation significantly mediates the relationship between digital literacy and business agility, with an indirect effect value of 0.418 and a t-statistic of 5.731. These findings confirm that digital literacy and entrepreneurial orientation are essential factors in improving MSME adaptability amid digital economic transformation. This study contributes theoretically by developing an integrated model that explains the relationship between digital literacy, entrepreneurial orientation, and MSME business agility in the context of developing countries.

Abstract

This study aims to conceptually synthesize environmental sustainability in tourism villages through a social-ecological systems approach based on an integrative literature review. The study is motivated by the dominance of social, economic, and governance dimensions in tourism village literature, while the integration of measurable environmental indicators—such as ecological resilience, land-use change, and carbon footprint—remains limited and fragmented. The research employs an integrative review design, analyzing 17 Scopus-indexed international journal articles relevant to sustainable tourism village development. Data were examined through variable extraction, thematic coding, and conceptual synthesis to identify theoretical evolution, integrative gaps, and multidimensional relational patterns among sustainability determinants. The findings indicate that although the literature has evolved in a multidimensional direction, it has not yet formed an integrated social-ecological systems model that positions environmental sustainability as the primary outcome. Measurable environmental indicators tend to be analyzed partially and have not been systematically linked to social, cultural, governance, and technological variables. This study concludes that an integrative conceptual framework is required to connect these determinants within a coherent analytical system. The primary contribution of this research lies in repositioning environmental sustainability as the core dimension of tourism village development and in providing a conceptual foundation for future empirical model development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of operational efficiency and competitiveness on the financial performance of banks in Indonesia. Financial performance is proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), which reflects a bank’s ability to generate profits from its total assets. Operational efficiency is measured using the Asset Utilization Ratio (AUR), while competitiveness is measured using the Market Share. Theoretically, this study is grounded in Agency Theory to explain the relationship between operational efficiency, competitiveness, and banking financial performance. The study employs a quantitative approach using panel data from commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The data in this study are analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to examine the effect of operational efficiency and competitiveness on the financial performance of Indonesian banks. The results show that both operational efficiency (AUR) and banking competitiveness (market share) have a positive and significant effect on financial performance (ROA).

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology has changed the way micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) promote their products and communicate with customers. Social media, which was initially used mainly for communication, has now become an important marketing platform that allows MSMEs to build brand awareness, interact with customers, reach wider markets, and support business growth. This study aims to examine how promotional strategies among MSMEs have changed through the use of social media and to identify the factors that support successful digital marketing, particularly among MSMEs in Bekasi, Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach based on a structured review of national and international journal articles indexed in SINTA, Scopus, and Web of Science. The analysis shows that the transformation of MSME promotion generally develops gradually, beginning with conventional promotion, followed by a basic digital presence, content-based promotion, interactive social media marketing, and more integrated digital promotion. The success of this transformation is influenced by digital literacy, technological readiness, organizational capability, innovation, customer engagement, and market competition. Social media also gives MSMEs the opportunity to build closer relationships with customers and encourage electronic word of mouth. For MSMEs in Bekasi, social media provides a practical opportunity to expand their market and strengthen their competitive position. However, meaningful digital transformation requires more than simply having social media accounts. MSMEs need consistent, relevant, interactive, and measurable promotional strategies that are closely connected to customer needs and business objectives.
