Abstract

Effective records management is essential for ensuring efficient and reliable academic administrative services in higher education institutions. This study aims to examine the implementation of records management, identify the challenges encountered, and explore the strategies adopted to support academic administrative services at the Academic Administration Division of Politeknik LP3I Jakarta. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving three academic administrative staff members. The collected data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, while source triangulation was applied to ensure the credibility of the findings. The results indicate that Politeknik LP3I Jakarta implements a hybrid records management system that integrates physical records stored in filing cabinets and folders with digital records managed through HRIS, SIM, OAS, and Google Drive. Records are systematically classified using alphabetical and chronological filing systems to facilitate document retrieval. Digital records can generally be retrieved within seconds or minutes, whereas locating older physical records stored in the archive warehouse may require several days. Despite these advantages, several challenges remain, including server disruptions during peak operational periods, particularly within the OAS application, human error in data entry, data duplication during system migration, and limited physical storage capacity. The study concludes that the implementation of a structured hybrid records management system has significantly improved the efficiency and quality of academic administrative services. To further enhance organizational performance, the institution should strengthen its information technology infrastructure, enforce standardized operating procedures, improve interdepartmental coordination, and provide continuous training to enhance staff competencies in digital records management.

Abstract

This study examines how price and product quality influence consumers’ purchasing decisions when buying Toyota and Honda cars in the Tangerang area. The research uses a quantitative approach and involves 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS version 25 through various statistical tests. The results show that both price and product quality have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, both individually and simultaneously. An F-value of 41.001 with a significance level of 0.000 indicates that these two factors play an important role in shaping consumer choices. In other words, competitive pricing and good product quality are the main reasons consumers choose Toyota and Honda vehicles.

Abstract

The Pisangan Baru Urban Village office still faces obstacles in managing its dynamic archives, such as annual changes to letter classification codes, limited storage capacity, and the absence of a formal archive-borrowing procedure. This study aims to analyse the process off managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, identify the constraints encountered, and formulate appropriate solutions. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach through direct observation and in-depth interviews with the Secretary of the Pisangan Baru Urban Village Office as the key informant. The results show that the management of incoming and outgoing letters has been carried out in a structured manner through a single archivist, supported by a manual numbering system and digital applications such as e-Office, Arjuna, and Siska. The main constraints found include inconsistent letter classification codes, a fully occupied archive storage room, and an informal file-borrowing mechanism. As solutions, the village office actively coordinates with sub-district archivists, uses air-conditioned room as temporary storage, and plans the procurement of a dedicated storage room and archival aquipment. This study concludes that optimizing are necessary to support more efficient archival digitization at the Pisangan Baru Urban Village Office.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of social media usage on the mental health conditions of Generation Z in the Johar Baru area. The research method used is a qualitative approach presenting descriptive data. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires with closed-ended statements online using Google Forms. The population of this study focuses on all Generation Z individuals residing in the Johar Baru district. Data analysis was carried out through a systematic process of organizing and categorizing non-numerical data patterns. The questionnaire results show that massive social media usage exerts a significant impact on the mental health of respondents. The majority of Generation Z in Johar Baru are vulnerable to constantly engaging in social comparison against life standards displayed on digital platforms, while experiencing negative impacts such as insecurity, cyberbullying, anxiety, and the FOMO (fear of missing out) phenomenon. Nevertheless, the research results also indicate that social media can still provide positive impacts in the form of social support, provided it is managed and utilized wisely

Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PjBL) at Politeknik LP3I Jakarta requires students to collaborate effectively in completing projects that simulate real workplace situations. However, students’ participation levels within collaborative groups remain inconsistent. This study aimed to examine the influence of close friend relationships on students' collaborative learning. A quantitative approach with a descriptive research design was employed involving 59 first- and second-year students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire distributed via Google Forms and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 25 through simple linear regression and the independent t-test. The findings indicate that close friend influence has a positive and statistically significant effect on collaborative learning, with a calculated t-value of 7.361 exceeding the critical t-value of 1.672 (p = 0.000). The resulting regression equation is Y = 13.788 + 0.771X, while the coefficient of determination (R² = 0.463) indicates that close friend influence explains 46.3% of the variance in collaborative learning. These findings suggest that social support and interpersonal closeness substantially enhance students' participation, communication, and teamwork effectiveness within project-based collaborative learning environments.

Abstract

Coastal zone management is one of the most pressing governance challenges for nations with extensive coastlines amid accelerating climate change. This study aims to examine the lessons learned from Germany's coastal governance experience and to assess their relevance for developing archipelagic countries, particularly Indonesia. A comparative descriptive-analytical method was applied, drawing on official German policy documents, peer-reviewed literature, and reports from international institutions such as UNESCO, EUCC, and HELCOM. The results show that Germany's coastal governance success rests on six mutually reinforcing pillars: strong legal frameworks, long-term investment beyond political cycles, recognition of ecosystems as economic infrastructure, robust monitoring systems, transboundary coordination, and substantive community participation. These findings indicate that effective coastal governance is determined less by income level than by institutional commitment and policy coherence. The implication for Indonesia is the need to strengthen inter-agency coordination, adopt ecosystem-based adaptation, and formally recognize traditional community-based coastal governance systems as legitimate co-management mechanisms.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the use of Instagram as a digital marketing medium to increase sales at Geprek Bensu. The research employs a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through observation of the Instagram account @geprekbensu, supported by relevant journals and scientific articles. The analysis covers the number of followers, likes, comments, and the consistency of content posting from January to December 2025. The findings indicate that the Geprek Bensu Instagram account has a substantial number of followers, namely 816 thousand, giving it high potential as a digital promotional medium. However, the level of audience interaction with the uploaded content remains relatively low, with an average engagement rate of 0.010%. In addition, an inconsistent posting frequency prevents the digital marketing effort from operating optimally. A more effective marketing strategy is therefore needed, one that improves content quality, maximizes the use of Instagram's features, and establishes a regular posting schedule in order to increase audience interaction and support sales growth. With proper management, Instagram can serve as an effective marketing medium for expanding promotional reach and increasing Geprek Bensu's sales.

Abstract

The gap between high Islamic financial literacy and low Islamic banking inclusion in Indonesia remains a critical challenge for the industry. This study analyzes the effects of Islamic Financial Literacy (IFL), Perceived Value (PV), and Perceived Fairness (PF) on Switching Intention with Trust as a mediator, comparing state-owned and private bank customers in Jakarta. Using PLS-SEM and Multi-Group Analysis (MGA) on 200 respondents, the results reveal striking pattern differences. For state-owned bank customers, IFL, PV, and PF positively affect Trust and switching intention, with Trust acting as a partial mediator. Conversely, for private bank customers, only PF affects Trust, while PV directly drives switching intention without Trust mediation. MGA results show significant differences in two paths: IFL to Trust (positive for state-owned, negative for private) and Trust to switching intention (significant for state-owned, non-significant for private). These findings contribute to the literature by showing that the switching mechanism is comprehensive and trust-based for the state-owned segment, but pragmatic and value-based for the private segment. Consequently, Islamic banks require differentiated strategies: emphasizing literacy and fairness for state-owned customers, while highlighting functional benefits and social value for private bank customers.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of a low-cost strategy on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Padang City, Indonesia, and explores whether Management Control Systems (MCS) moderate this relationship. MSMEs are critical to Indonesia’s economic growth, employment, and poverty reduction, yet face challenges from increased competition, technological change, and economic uncertainty. Adopting appropriate strategies, such as a low-cost approach, is essential for sustaining performance, though prior research on its effectiveness has yielded mixed results. Furthermore, the role of MCS in enhancing strategy implementation, especially in emerging economies, remains underexplored. Using a quantitative approach, survey data were collected from fourteen MSME owners and analysed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). Results reveal that the low-cost strategy significantly improves enterprise performance (β = 0.449; p = 0.099), while MCS on their own do does not have a significant effect (β = 0.498; p = 0.143). Additionally, MCS do not significantly moderate the link between low-cost strategy and performance (β = –0.111; p = 0.626). The model explains a substantial proportion of variance in enterprise performance (R² = 0.809) and demonstrates strong predictive relevance (Q² = 0.610). These findings contribute to the contingency theory by showing that formal management control practices alone are not sufficient to enhance strategic effectiveness in MSMEs unless they are consistently implemented and aligned with organizational characteristics. The study offers practical insights for policymakers and MSME owners seeking to improve strategic management in emerging markets.
