Abstract

Village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) contribute to the village economy's improvement and independence. BUMDes management will face a variety of challenges. If we do not optimize BUMDes management, we cannot maximize the village's potential. A review of the selection of new businesses is necessary to ensure that BUMDes can once again boost village income. We are conducting a study on community service activities to enhance BUMDes management, with the aim of establishing a community recycling center. The types of community service activities include BUMDes management, community recycling center formation, and partnership strengthening. The community service activities employ methods that involve socialization and practice over a period of 4 weeks. The eval_uation and monitoring results showed that the combination method of combining socialization and practice had the highest impact on partners' knowledge of the circular economy, with an average value of 85.55. Testing with a one-way ANOVA can have a known sig value > 0.005, so that the results of each method used have the same variation. Following community service activities, we aim to establish a community recycling center and improve BUMDes management in Ngraket Village in the future.

Abstract

Waste is an environmental problem that continues to increase along with population growth and human consumptive activities. Without proper management, waste can cause negative impacts such as pollution and flooding. This community service activity was carried out at MTs Al Washliyah Gedung Johor, Medan Johor District, Medan City, targeting seventh grade students. The objective of the activity was to raise awareness from an early age about the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness through socialization and training in recycling plastic waste from mineral water bottles into useful and economical handicrafts. The activity methods included site observation, material socialization, and practice making crafts from plastic waste. The results of the activity showed high enthusiasm and increased student understanding of waste management. This activity is expected to foster creativity and environmental awareness in participants, while encouraging the formation of a generation that cares about cleanliness and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

The low literacy rate in rural areas of Indonesia remains a significant challenge in improving the quality of human resources. This study aims to enhance children's reading interest through the Takra Posa (Taman Aksara Pojok Sawah) program in Miru Village, Sekaran District, Lamongan Regency, using a participatory approach rooted in local wisdom. This research employs a qualitative method with observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The program was implemented in several stages: needs assessment, resource provision, literacy activities, training, and evaluation. The results show a significant increase in children's interest in reading; the number of children who enjoy reading rose from 10 to 55. Activities such as group reading, storytelling, creative competitions, and outdoor reading created a fun and engaging learning environment. This program also had a positive impact on parental and community involvement, fostering a collective awareness of the importance of literacy. Therefore, Takra Posa can serve as an effective model for nature-based, community-driven reading spaces in rural areas.

Abstract

The degradation of seagrass meadows has prompted various efforts to restore the function and role of seagrass ecosystems in coastal areas. During two decades, various technical restoration development methods have been implemented to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of the techniques used. These methods can be adapted to the needs and conditions of the area to be restored, allowing for more flexibility in their use and implementation in the area. Lemukutan Island is a small island, approximately 45 minutes by motorized wooden boat from the main island. However, despite its relatively short distance, the island's primary economic activity is tourism, resulting in higher prices for some necessities. The 2024 DIPA PKM Agriculture Faculty program aims to introduce seagrass species, the role in the ecosystem, and implement the low-cost seagrass planting methods using the island's resources. The purpose of this community service activity is to encourage the community to participate actively in seagrass ecosystem restoration efforts.

Abstract

This community service project aims to enhance digital literacy, content creation skills, and the social awareness and participation of youth in Pepedan Village, Tonjong District, Brebes Regency, through a prophetic journalism-based content creator training program. The partner’s main problems include the low ability of local youth to use digital media productively and ethically, as well as the lack of collaborative spaces to express positive ideas through creative content. The program was implemented through three main stages: (1) improving digital literacy through outreach and interactive discussions; (2) technical training on creating creative content based on prophetic journalism values; and (3) mentoring for the establishment of a village content creator community. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ ability to plan, produce, and distribute educational and socio-religious content. Moreover, the establishment of the Pepedan Village Content Creator Community has become a sustainable collaborative platform for youth empowerment in digital media and prophetic communication. Abstract

This community service activity aimed to evaluate and improve the quality of Al-Qur'an tahfidz learning at MIS Al-Ihsan. This approach focused on improving the articulation of Arabic letters by PPL students to enhance the fluency and accuracy of students' Al-Qur'an recitation. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design to understand the types, causal factors, and impacts of pronunciation errors on the quality of students' Al-Qur'an memorization. Data was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and analysis of learning documents, validated through data triangulation. The evaluation results showed serious difficulties in accurately pronouncing hijaiyah letters according to their makhraj, which can substantially alter the meaning of verses. Following guidance and pronunciation corrections, students showed enthusiasm and improvement in understanding the importance of makhārijul huruf. This activity provided valuable input for teachers and the institution to enhance tahfidz learning methods and curriculum design, and served as a valuable experience for PPL students in applying academic knowledge. Overall, this activity significantly contributed to improving the quality of Al-Qur'an tahfidz learning at MIS Al-Ihsan.
