Abstract

Abstract Students with autism spectrum required special education services to develop their potential and capabilities. The recommended special education services is  inclusive education services. In inclusive education services, beside of  optimal teaching, classroom management also had an important role in achieving the optimal learning purpose. Based on the results of preliminary observations in the Elementary School Ketintang II / 410 Surabaya showed contradictive results related to the classroom management, in which the interaction of students  with autism spectrum is quite good, but the of students learning outcomes  is still low. So this condition should was important to be investigated further. The aim of this research were to describe the classroom management for students with autism spectrum in the Elementary School Ketintang II/410 Surabaya, to describe the factors supporting the implementation of the classroom management for students with autism spectrum in the Elementary School Ketintang II / 410 Surabaya, and  also to describe the factors inhibiting the implementation of classroom management for students with autism spectrum disorder in the Elementary School Ketintang II / 410 Surabaya. This research used qualitative research method with qualitative descriptive study self-report. The data was collected through observation, interview toward nine informants, and documentation. The data obtained was then analyzed by the analysis model  by  Miles, Huberman, and Saldana involving: data condensation, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. The research  results showed: the classroom management aspects of managing  students is 73% implemented well, the classroom management aspects of managing the physical condition of class is 67% implemented well, while classroom management aspects of specialty development program was 25% implemented well, which only the evaluation that has been applied well, while the assessment, planning and implementation of specialty development program were not applied yet. So  it could be concluded that classroom management aspects of managing students and aspects of managing the physical condition of Elementary School Ketintang II/410 Surabaya has been implemented well, while the classroom management aspects of specialty development program was not implemented well. The factors supporting classroom management for students with autism spectrum on the Elementary School Ketintang II / 410 consists of factors: physical environment, socio – emotional conditions and organizational conditions. Further factors inhibiting classroom management also consists of factors: physical environment, socio – emotional condition  and organizational conditions. Abstract

Abstract     The blind children experienced hindrance in self guide especially in brushing teeth. From the result of early observation in SDLB-A YPAB Tegalsari Surabaya there were 6 blind children whose self guide ability of brushing teeth was low enough because in the daily activity they were still helped by other people or parents. One of the learning methods which could be used to enhance brusing teeth ability of blind children was drill method. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to prove whether there was influence of drill method toward brushing teeth ability to blind children in SDLB-A YPAB Tegalsari Surabaya or not. The research design used quantitative approach with pre experiment kind, one group pre-test post-test design. The data was collected using early observation, last observation, and documentation. The research was implemented in ten times meeting i.e.: once pre-test, once post-test, and eight times treatment. The data was then analyzed using Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test formula. The research result indicated that before giving treatment the average obtained was 56,9 and after giving treatment the average obtained was 79,1 so it could be concluded that there was influence of drill method toward brushing teeth ability to blind children in SDLB-A YPAB Tegalsari Surabaya (Zh = 2,20 > Zt = 1,96).     Keywords: Drill method, brushing teeth

Abstract

ABSTRACT Parents were the ones who had the most important role in caring, guiding, and directing the children to become independent. Therefore, the parents would apply good parenting style to nurture their autism children in order to reach independence included personal hygiene independence. The personal hygiene independence was an individual ability not to depend on other people in doing personal hygiene activity. Based on the observation which had been done in SDN Percobaan Surabaya, three autism children were less realizing the importance of self hygiene. A child whose teeth appeared yellow and two others had a habit i.e. after cleaning the nose dirt they would absorb it so it required to be observed the role of parenting style toward personal hygiene independence to autism children in SDN Percobaan Surabaya. This research had purpose to describe the parenting style of autism children in SDN Percobaan Surabaya, to describe personal hygiene independence to autism children in SDN Percobaan Surabaya, and to describe the role of parenting style toward personal hygiene independence to autism children in SDN Percobaan Surabaya. This research used qualitative approach with descriptive method. The technique of data collection was done by interview and observation toward 5 parents, 5 autism children, and 2 siblings of 2 autism children. The technique of data analysis in this research used the step of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing / verifying suitable with the analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. This research result indicated that a whole or 100% parents of autism children who consisted of 5 parents of 5 autism children in SDN Percobaan Surabaya applied authoritative parenting style as the dominant and authoritarian parenting style was as the secondary parenting style in one caring at once. In personal hygiene independence, the independent autism children in SDN Percobaan Surabaya were 3 children (60%), and less independent autism children were 2 children (40%). So it could be concluded that the parenting style gave great role toward the personal hygiene independence to autism children in SDN Percobaan Surabaya. The role of authoritative parenting style was the parents helped personal hygiene activity of the children physically and verbally, to teach the children doing personal hygiene activity, to assist the children doing personal hygiene activity, and to remind the children when they did not do personal hygiene activity yet while in authoritarian parenting style, the parents compelled the children in order to be able to do personal hygiene activity by themselves, to order each step in personal hygiene activity, and to scold the children when they did not soon to do personal hygiene activity on time.   Keywords: parenting style, personal hygiene independence

Abstract

ABSTRACT In this descriptive research, the demand to apply curriculum 2013 to all learners required the teachers to be able to prepare learning plan and exact implementation to all learners included learners with autism spectrum in inclusive class. This research purpose was to describe the scientific learning process to learners with autism spectrum based curriculum 2013 in SDN Ketintang II/410 Surabaya. This research used descriptive method with qualitative approach. Based on the data analysis it was obtained that the elements of scientific learning plan for learners had generally been applied by the teachers well. The modification was done to learners with autism spectrum to the material and learning activity. Five learners could follow the scientific learning process in the class while one learner could not yet. The modification was not structurally arranged yet in Individual Learning Program. The implementation had already been done based on the criteria of scientific learning. All learners with autism spectrum needed assistance from GPK and shadow to understand and apply the material. Although the steps of scientific learning were only trying and communicating only two learners could implement them. The learning activity of class IV was implemented in source room with GPK. The assessment of learning result was made exercises with three levels suitable with the learners’ ability. The evaluation was authentically done involving the aspects of attitude, knowledge, and skill to all learners with autism spectrum and the special report was in the form of description report. The hindrance in the implementation was felt by the teachers because the four learners did not master the basic abilities of reading, writing, and counting yet. The characteristics of learners with various autism spectrums made the application of learning elements was not maximally implemented yet. Scientific learning would be more maximal with doing special assistance in the implementation. Keywords: Scientific learning, curriculum 2013

Abstract

Abstract: Children with autism who experience obstacles in rough motor skills that jump on one foot, leg muscles are less strong and poor body balance, should be given a game that can attract interest, attention as well as able to train the abusive motor skills of children. Hopscotch game is a game requires the player to jump with one leg resting on. Aspects developed in this study are the strength of the foot in a jump on one foot, the accuracy in jumping with one foot on a specified area and maintain balance. The research method in this research is by using quantitative research approach to the type of pre-experimental study, and the study design one-group pretest-posttest design. Subjects in this study, namely 6 autistic children aged 4-5 years in kindergarten Mentari School Sidoarjo, the purpose of this research is to prove the influence of hopscotch game against the gross motor skills of children with autism in kindergarten Mentari School Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques using action tests on gross motor skills and observation. While the data analysis techniques use non parametik statistics with marked rank test.The results showed that the initial test / pre-test average obtained was 50 and was given treatment after the final test / post-test with an average of 80.5 obtained for this case shows that there is a significant increase. Zh value = 2.20 is greater than 5% value crisis Zt = + 1.96, which means that Ho refused and Ha is received so that it can be said of the influence of hopscotch game against the gross motor skills of children with autism in kindergarten Mentari School Sidoarjo.   Keywords: hopscotch game, Motor Rough

Abstract

ABSTRACT The problem which was experienced by the autism children was the children did not recognize number 1-10 yet. The learning used in recognizing number was by multisensory method. A multisensory method was one of the learning methods using all senses the children had in learning process. The purpose of this research was to prove the influence of multisensory method toward recognizing number 1-10 ability to autism children. This research method used quantitative approach with quantitative descriptive kind. The data was collected by writing test, observation, and documentation. Writing test was used to obtain the data of recognizing number 1-10 ability to autism children before giving treatment and after giving treatment. The research result indicated that the average pre test was 51,33 and the average post test was 78,67. This indicated that there was significant enhancement. Zh value = 2,20 was greater than critic value 5% Zt = +1,96 so it could be stated there was influence of multisensory method toward recognizing number to autism children. Abstract

ABSTRACT Mild mentally retardation children of class I in SLB Siti Hajar Buduran Sidoarjo could not recognize the number concept yet. When the mild mentally retardation children were taught to recognize number 1 till 10 they could only mention well. The purpose of this research was to know the influence of playing fishing media toward recognizing number concept ability to mild mentally retardation childen in SLB Siti Hajar Buduran Sidoarjo. This research used quantitative approach and pre-experiment kind with research arrangement One Group Pre test Post test design. The research result indicated significant influence. It appeared from the children’s ability through the aspects of recognizing, mentioning, showing, sequencing, and matching number 1 till 10. This was proved by the result of data analysis which indicated that the value of z counted = 2,20 was greater than the value of z table = 1,96 it meant there was influence of playing fishing media toward recognizing number concept to mild mentally retardation children in SLB Siti Hajar Buduran Sidoarjo.   Keywords: Playing fishing media, recognizing number concept ability

Abstract

ABSTRACT Learning mathematics was a process of learner’s change with his/her learning environment discussing about numbers and the counting. Mentally retardation children had intellectual hindrance which had impact to learning problem as difficulty in thinking abstractly, whatever learning should behave concrete such as in academic domain. Therefore, to solve the problem of mentally retardation children in learning mathematics process it was given fun learning model i.e. cooperative learning model of course review horay type. This research had purpose to analyze whether there was influence of learning cooperative model of course review horay in learning mathematics to mild mentally retardation children in SLB C Dharma Wanita Lebo Sidoarjo or not. The kind of research used was pre-experiment. The design used one group pre test post test. The method used to collect the data was test method and documentation method. For data analysis, the research used the analysis technique of statistic non parametric with 6 children as subject. From the result of data analysis it was indicated that the average value of pre test was 45 and the average value of post test was 83. The research result after giving cooperative learning of course review horay type indicated that zh = 2,05 > Zt = 1,96. It indicated “there was significant influence of cooperative learning model of course review horay type in learning mathematics to mild mentally retardation children in SLB C Dharma Wanita Lebo Sidoarjo”.   Keywords : mathematics, cooperative learning of course review horay type
