Abstract

Abstract One of the obstacles of deaf children is the ability to speak. Language skills include listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Efforts to overcome these obstacles in the form of the use of tools (ABM) and the installation of cochlear implants. This study aims to determine the language skills of deaf children who use cochlear implants, barriers experienced, as well as the intervention provided. The research used qualitative research approach case study type. Technique of collecting data using observation, interview, documentation study and test. Data analysis techniques use source triangulation, technique, and time. The results showed that the ability to listen and speak initially just by looking at the motion of the lips and has not spoken, now the ability to listen and speak simple sentences, complex and semi-complex can only be heard. The obstacles experienced are concentration problems, and also very active students. Interventions for inclusion in the form of classroom learning, tutoring reading, writing, arithmetic and AVT (Auditory Verbal Therapy). The conclusions of this study is to use cochlear implants language skills of deaf children develop properly in accordance with the curriculum of language skills of deaf children with cochlear implant (adapted from notes Shepheard Center Intermede AVT Course 2013). Abstract

ABSTRACT This research purpose was to observe whether there was influence of using direct learning model based modification monopoly game toward recognizing money value ability to autism children in SDN Sambikerep 1 Surabaya or not. This research used pre experiment kind with one group pre test – post test design.From the research result it was then analyzed using sign test formula. It was obtained that Zh value = 2,05 > Zt = 1,96 to significant level 5%. So, it could be concluded that there was influence of direct learning model based modification monopoly game toward recognizing money value ability to autism children in SDN Sambikerep 1 Surabaya.   Keywords: Direct learning model, modification monopoly game, money value.

Abstract

Abstract Learning mathematics was an important thing in life but learning mathematics also became one of the difficulties experienced by autism children, especially the counting material of adding and subtracting. With the difficulties above we, as the educators, had responsibility to help the children in solving the difficulty experienced, one of them by making learning media which could be understood by the children. The learning media was Dot Cards because it had several advantages on it such as conveying learning material could be uniformed, the learning process was clearer and more interesting, and the learning process was more interactive so the learning media of Dot Cards became the suitable media for learning counting of adding and subtracting to autism children. This research purpose was to find the influence of using learning media of Dot Cards toward adding and subtracting ability to autism children in SDLB Bhakti Wiyata Surabaya. This research used quantitative approach with “One Group Pretest – Posttest Design”. The subject of this research was autism children in SDLB Bhakti Wiyata Surabaya numbering 8 children. To analyze the data used non parametric formula with Sign Test and the methods of data collection used observation and test. From the data analysis it was obtained the counting result of critic value 5% with Z table = 1,96 it was a fact that ZH value = 2,5 was greater than critic value of Z table 5% (1,96) so the null hypothesis (Ho) was refused and work hypothesis (Ha) in this research i.e. “there was influence of using learning media of Dot Cards toward adding and subtracting ability to autism children in SDLB Bhakti Wiyata Surabaya” was accepted. In this way it could be concluded that learning media of Dot Cards influenced toward adding and subtracting ability to autism children in SDLB Bhakti Wiyata Surabaya. Abstract

Abstract: Problem in the cognitive field of autistic children one of them is a mathematical ability that includes counting. This study aims to determine the effect of computer-based learning drills model to the ability to count the fourth-grade autism children in SLBN Pandaan. The developed aspect is the ability of addition and subtraction of 1 to 20. This research uses quantitative research approach with pre-experimental research type and research design one-group pretest-posttest design. Subjects in this study were 6 children with autism. Technique of collecting data that is in the form of test. While the technique of data analysis using non parametik statistic with Wilcoxon test. The results showed that before the treatment/pre-test the average value obtained is 46.7 and after the given treatment/post-test average value obtained by 80. Value Zh = 2.20 is greater than the value of crisis 5 % Zt = +1,96 which means Ho is rejected and Ha accepted, so it can be concluded that computer-based learning drills model have a significant effect on the ability to count autistic class IV in SLBN Pandaan. Abstract

Abstract: Deafness has an impact on language skills in children. As a result little information received by children so that children have difficulty understanding the reading on the subjects of Bahasa Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the influence of SQ3R technique in learning to read children with hearing impairment class I in SMPLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya, especially in terms of reading comprehension on learning Indonesian. This study uses a quantitative approach to research the type of pre-experiment and design of the study one group pre-test - post-test design. Subjects studied children with hearing impaired class I in SMPLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya amounted to 7 people. Test data collection techniques such as statistical data analysis techniques with the non-parametric Wilcoxon test formula match pairs test. The results of data analysis showed that the initial test / pre-test average obtained is 54.29 and given treatment after the final test / post-test with the average obtained for 80 This suggests that there is a significant increase. The value of Zh = 2.368 is greater than the critical value of 5% Zt = 1,96 which means Ho is rejected and Ha accepted so it can be said the influence of the use of SQ3R technique on the ability to read the understanding of hearing impaired children in SMPLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya.   Keywords: Glass analysis, beginning reading

Abstract

Abstrack : Contextual approach is a concept of learning by linking the subject matter to everyday life in the context of personal, social and cultural life. Self care is a program of programmed and planned training activities and guidance on the personal care of children with special needs. This study aims to obtain increased ability to eat with a spoon through a contextual approach in children with autism in SLB Autis Mutiara Hati Sidoarjo. Approach in this research is quantitative, data collecting technique in this research is observation. Observation techniques are used as an assessment sheet on pretest and posttest activities. The results of this study show that Zh (2.20)> Zt (1,96) shows that there is influence of contextual approach to eating with spoon on autistic children in SLB Autis Mutiara Hati Sidoarjo.   Keyword : Contextual approach, eating with a spoon

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hearing impairment caused disturbance to the children’s language development. Because of the limitedness of the sound received by the children so they also got limitedness in pronouncing the sound. This research had purpose to know whether there was the influence of multisensory method in speech guide training toward pronouncing words ability to hearing impairment learners in TKLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya or not. This research applied quantitative approach with pre-experiment kind and one group pre-test – post-test design. The subject observed was class B1 in TKLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya numbering 7 children. The technique of data collection was in the form of test and the data analysis technique was statistic non parametric with Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test formula. This research indicated that before giving treatment the children’s pronouncing ability had average value 58,75 while after giving treatment it became 83,30. The research indicated that the value of Z counted (Zh) = 2,37 was greater than the critic value of Z table 5% (Zt) = 1,96 (Zh > Zt). Ho was refused Ha was accepted so there was influence of multisensory method in speech guide training toward pronouncing words ability to hearing impairment learners. Abstract

Abstract: Deafness causes problems in some aspects including, physical and language problems, intelligence, social and emotional, and personality. Among these aspects of developmental problem, language development is a major problem that needs attention. The problem in the language development is the result of the limited language acquisition and vocabulary, and therefore it is needed a  methods that can help  children to improve their mastery of vocabulary. The learning method which is used to increase the vocabulary of deaf children in this study were using Total Physical Response (TPR) with steps namely; (1) Teaching and Learning, (2) Practice and Exercise, and (3) Evaluation and Repetition. Vocabulary aspect which is studied is a passive-receptive vocabulary and active-productive vocabulary.The subjects in this study is six  5-7 years old deaf children in the TK/ KB Aurica Surabaya. The aim of research to examine the effect of the Total Physical Response (TPR) method toward deaf children vocabulary TK / KB Aurica Surabaya. This study uses quantitativ eapproach with the type of research is Pre Experiment, using the research design One Group Pre - test Post - test Design to obtain data on the ability of deaf children vocabulary before and after a given treatment.The results were obtained from the pre-test and post-test results. It is resulted, pre-test results of 62, 33 and post-test results 86.15. Thus it can be concluded that Zcount = 2.05 compared with 5% Ztable crisis value = 1.96. Results showed that greater than Ztable Zcount (Zh> Zt) which means that Ho refused and Ha is received so that it can be said there is the effect of the Total Physical Response (TPR) method of the vocabulary of deaf children in TK/ KB Aurica Surabaya.   Keywords: Total Physical Response (TPR) Methods, Vocabulary Mastery.
