Abstract

ABSTRACT A typing skill involved finger position mastery to the keyboard. Training typing skill could be done with learning media, one of them was through audio games based voice which could be played by the blind. The purpose of this research was to describe the influence of audio games toward typing skill to the blind learners in SMPLB-A YPAB Surabaya. The technique of data collection used test method, observation, and documentation. It was then analyzed using statistic non parametric with sign test. The approach was quantitative with one group pre test post test. The sample was 6 blind learners of class IX SMPLB-A YPAB Surabaya. This research indicated there was enhancement of skill value of the blind children, in pre test the average value was 60 and in post test the value was 90. Based on the test result of statistic non parametric with sign test it was obtained Zh value was 2.04 greater than critic value α = 5% i.e. 1,96 which meant null hypothesis (Ho) was refused so that it could be concluded that “there was significant influence of audio games toward typing skill to the blind learners in SMPLB-A YPAB Surabaya.” Keywords:  audio games, typing skill

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This research had purpose to know and describe the social interaction of mild mentally retardation children in special school through social dissociation process which happened to FK and VL in the form of competing behavior, contravention, and quarreling. The technique of data collection used interview, observation, and documentation. The data was analyzed through reduction data, display data, and conclusion drawing / verification. The technique of data validation used was triangulation. The research result indicated that mild mentally retardation children, FK and VL, could do social interaction, however, there were several obstacles experienced especially in social dissociation process involving competition, contravention, and quarreling. Here, this research had appeared that Fk and VL had competing behavior. Children always wanted to complete their task first and they always wanted to be noticed by the teacher so that it emerged the other behaviors such as self withdrawal, disturbing friends, asking repeatedly. The hostility and doubt to other people or the self unconfident made the children withdrew from their environment or vice versa. And very often quarreling happened between FK and VL, especially caused by FK, always triggered the conflict. The difficulty experienced by the teacher in doing social interaction to the mentally retardation children, FK and VL, was: the teacher had to give simple comprehension and repeating when the children did not understand the teacher’s instruction or order, the teacher found difficulty to inform. Abstract

Abstract Reading difficulty is known as dyslexia is a disorder be caused by a dysfunction minimal of brain that can impact reading ability. In Surabaya City, prevalence of dyslexic children had not been known. Moreover, data of prevalence functions as projector to designs estimate of education needs for special need children, especially dyslexic children. Therefore, the aim of this research was to investigate the prevalence of dyslexic children. This research was using quantitative descriptive method by cross sectional study design. In addition to using research method, this research was also using area random sampling to decided research sample, using questionare, documentation, and test technique to gathered data, and using descriptive statistics with percentage formula (P=n/f x 100 %) to analysed data that was collected. A result of the research revealed that prevalence of dyslexic children in inclusion elementary school in  Surabaya city was 0,96 %. That is mean, 1 of 104 inclusion elementary school’s student  was dyslexic child.   Key word: Prevalence, Dyslexia

Abstract

Abstract One of the main impairments of autism children was low social interaction ability. During doing observation in SDN Percobaan Surabaya it was found one autism child in ten years old had low interest to social interaction. This research had purpose to prove the influence of being applied the Peer Initiation Training toward social interaction ability to one of the autism children in SDN Percobaan Surabaya. Three peers in the same class were participated in training to initiate and to respond the interaction toward the autism children.This research used SSR (Single Subject Research) with A-B model and used the design of model based plural based on behavior (multiple baseline cross variable). The research was focused on the frequency measurement of appearing social interaction respond and social interaction initiation for 30 minutes of school break time in the activity of eating and playing together. This research result indicated there was intervention influence of Peer Initiation Training in the form of frequency enhancement in responding social interaction. Social interaction respond to baseline phase appeared 0-3 times compared to intervention phase 20-44 times, with better trend direction tendency. The opposite result was then indicated by social interaction initiation, the frequency appeared 5-34 times higher compared to baseline phase, however, the data did not indicate stability, with decreasing trend direction tendency. So there was not any influence of Peer Initiation Training toward the frequency of social interaction initiation.   Keywords: Social interaction, Peer Initiation Training

Abstract

ABSTRACT In social interaction, contact and relationship between one individual to the other always happened, the autism children had disturbance in their social development. The autism children had difficulty doing contact eyes to their speaking partners. The children showed failure making interpersonal relation which was indicated by the lack of response toward people around them. Because of the disturbance to the contact eyes it would disturb the children’s activities in learning and social life. The purpose of this research was to prove whether there was influence of token economic technique to enhance the contact eyes of the autism children in SDN Sedati Agung No. 402 Sidoarjo or not. The kind of this research was experiment with single subject research (SSR) and A-B design. The subject was one autism child in SDN Sedati Agung No. 402 Sidoarjo who had disturbance in holding contact eyes during interacting with the speaking partner. Based on the analysis done it indicated that to baseline phase (A) the subject did contact eyes 8-13 times with total duration 13-16 seconds for 15 minutes and to intervention phase (B) it averagely enhanced 10-15 times with total duration 14-25 seconds for 15 minutes. Based on the data analysis and the discussion it could be concluded that token economic technique could enhance the social interaction of autism children which it was done 8-13 times with total duration 13-16 seconds before, it was enhanced to be 10-15 times with total duration 14-25 seconds for 15 minutes.   Keywords: token economic technique, contact eyes

Abstract

Abstract There were teacher book and student book in curriculum 2013. The perception of special education teacher toward both books was different depending on the feeling, thinking ability, and the teacher’s experiences. Therewere two forms of perception i.e. negative and positive perceptions. This research had purposes to explain (1) the acceptation of special need teacher toward teacher book and student book in curriculum 2013 for special needs learners, (2) the comprehension of special education teacher toward teacher book and student book in curriculum 2013 for special needs learners, (3) the assessment or evaluation of special education teacher toward teacher book and student book in curriculum 2013 for special needs learners. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. The techniques of data collection were observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. The analysis step of this descriptive qualitative research involved reduction data, displaydata, and verification or concluding. The research result could be concluded (1) the acceptation of special education teacher toward teacher book and student book which behaved positive was the teacher book and student book were utilized well while behaving negative was the scientific approach could not be applied yet to special needs children, (2) the comprehension of special education teacher toward teacher book and student book which behaved positive was KD and indicator did not object the special need children who did not have cognitive hindrance, the material relation was good enough and interesting, the media needed was not too difficult, the assessment rubric helped enough, (3) the assessment of special education teacher toward teacher book and student book was distributing teacher book and student book were not maximum, there was not any signal system in teacher book and student book, there were several learning activities which were not maximally implemented yet, making RPP was more.Keywords:Perception, Special Education Teacher, TeacherBookand Student Book

Abstract

Abstrack : The limitedness carried by the special need children had impact to their autonomous in social life one of them was related with an occupation. The occupation should be needed in the society but the special need children with limited ability could not do the job appropriate with the needs in the society yet. The purpose of this research was to describe the teacher’s knowledge about vocational skill, vocational skill program, instrument and media in the activity of vocational skill, the implementation of vocational skill, the problem in the activity of vocational skill, and the solution in the activity of vocational skill in special school. This research used qualitative kind of descriptive study. The subjects of this research were two special schools in Surabaya. The data collection technique applied was interview, observation, and documentation. The technique of data analysis used was in the form of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing / verification. The research result could be obtained by the counselor teachers of vocational skill to percept that vocational skill was a skill or learning given to special need student to make them being autonomous in the future by training the student’s motoric so that it could be perfect. The kinds of vocational skill implemented was food science, skill, cleaning service, laundry, washing motorcycle, music art, dance art, sport, IT KMD, printing, entrepreneurship, and sewing. Making the program of vocational skill activity was done by the counselor teacher of vocational skill. The instrument and media used in this vocational skill activity was directly adjusted to vocational skill activity. The implementation of vocational skill activity was begun by arising the student’s interest to follow vocational skill activity and to divide the students into several groups. The problem experienced by the school was financial and special need children’s behavior. The problem could be solved by the teacher him/herself and conditioning the students before following the vocational skill activity. Keywords: vocational skill, special need students

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to observe whether there was influence of direct learning model based color sand media toward number 1-10 concept to autism children in SLB Widya Tama Surabaya or not. An autism was a disturbance of pervasive development completely which could disturb the cognitive function, one of them was the understanding of number concept. The direct learning model based color sand media was teaching which was specially designed to support the children’s learning process step by step through color sand media. This research used pre experiment kind. The research design used was obe group pre test post test design. The techniques of data collection were test and documentation.  The data analysis techique was sign test. From the research result it was then analized using sign test formula, and obtained ZH = 2,05 > Zt = 1,96 to significant level 5%. So, it could be concluded that there was influence of direct learning model based color sand media toward understanding ability of number 1-10 concept to autism children in SLB Widya Tama Surabaya.   Keywords: Direct learning, number concept

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was formed the background by the important of developing fine motoric ability of autism children. The fine motoric ability of autism children often experienced disturbance. It appeared to the autism children’s ability in SDLBN Tompokersan Lumajang in holding, pressing, grasping, and pinching things so they required to be developed. Through playing playdough the autism children were actively stimulated to develop their fine motoric ability and gave them freedom to do various activities in playing playdough as forming and printing. This research had purpose to prove the influence of playing playdough toward the fine motoric ability of autism children in SDLBN Tompokersan Lumajang. This research used quantitative approach with pre-experimental design kind, and the research arrangement was one group pre test post test design. The subject in this research was 6-7 years old autism children in SDLBN Tompokersan Lumajang numbering 7 children whose fine motoric ability still required to be developed. The data collection technique used statistic non parametric with wilcoxon match pair test. The research result indicated that there was value enhancement of fine motoric ability of autism children during the early observation or pre test was 60,92 to be 84,25 in the end of observation or post test. Beside that the research result also indicated Zh = 2,36 was greater than Zt = 1,96 with critic value 5% (two sides test). If Z counted > Z table (2,36 > 1,96) it indicated that there was influence of playing playdough toward fine motoric ability of autism children in SDLBN Tompokersan Lumajang.   Keywords: playdough, fine motoric
