Abstract

Many higher-education students experience ongoing stress due to academic demands while studying at university or college. To examine the effects of educational stress on students' ability to learn, academic achievement, and mental health issues such as anxiety, sadness, sleep disturbances, and drug use problems, a qualitative research study was conducted using interview methods. The study explores the unique experiences of educational stress among undergraduate students, based on interviews with 14 students, and provides detailed insights into their stress levels. The research emphasizes the widespread impact of stress on students, including academic pressures and cultural adjustments, and focuses specifically on undergraduate students at the C3S business school. Addressing these stress factors is crucial for academic success and student well-being. Therefore, the study suggests implementing stress management and conflict resolution strategies, collaborating with counseling services, enhancing educational support services, and promoting mental health awareness through accurate strategies. The study also discusses its limitations and significance and offers future suggestions.

Abstract

In the evolving landscape of education, the fusion of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines with literacy education emerges as a pivotal strategy for fostering comprehensive learning. Despite its significance, elementary schools face obstacles in seamlessly incorporating STEM principles into their curricula, highlighting a gap in effective STEM-based educational practices. This research endeavors to pinpoint the hurdles impeding STEM integration and to devise strategic interventions aimed at bolstering STEM-centric learning, with a special emphasis on enhancing student literacy. Through detailed observations and dynamic discussions with key school stakeholders—including Principals and faculty members—the study identified foundational challenges such as a limited grasp of STEM concepts among teachers, a scarcity of relevant instructional materials, an absence of innovative strategies for teaching literacy and technology, and a general unfamiliarity with STEM-focused pedagogy. Responding to these challenges, the study orchestrated a series of targeted interventions. These included Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to foster a collaborative learning environment, literacy-centric training workshops to empower educators, an expansion of school library resources to include STEM-related materials, and support in crafting student textbooks that are oriented towards STEM learning. The post-intervention phase unveiled significant progress: educators exhibited a more profound understanding of how to develop STEM-focused learning materials and acknowledged the critical role of literacy and numeracy in student education. The strategic interventions not only mitigated the initial barriers but also equipped educators in elementary schools with the essential tools and knowledge to guide their students through an integrated learning journey in literacy and numeracy, underpinned by the core tenets of STEM education. This transformation underscores the effectiveness of the tailored approaches in enhancing the educational framework to support student success in a STEM-driven future.

Abstract

History represents a set of facts from the past—events that were real and genuinely occurred in their time. Historical sources are crucial for reconstructing and generalizing history so that it can be comprehended by students. However, the limited availability of historical sources poses a significant challenge for students when learning history. This limitation can be addressed by utilizing museum websites as learning resources. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of museum websites as a learning resource for history education. Research and Development (R&D) methodology was employed in this study. The research sample consisted of 180 high school students selected from a population of 564 students in Pekanbaru City using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through observations, expert validation questionnaires, product trial questionnaires, and historical thinking skills tests. The collected data were analyzed quantitatively using t-tests to assess the impact of museum websites as a learning resource for students. The results indicated that the developed museum website was valid and reliable, and the t-test analysis showed a significant impact of the museum website as a history learning resource, with a significance value of 0.000 (less than 0.05).

Abstract

Academic writing is a crucial skill for Indonesian university students, significantly influencing their EFL learning performance. This systematic literature review aims to examine the diverse learning strategies employed by these students to enhance their academic writing skills and reveal the predominant strategy employed by the students. Combining systematic literature review and thematic analysis, this study reveals five categories for academic writing strategies, those are metacognitive, cognitive, social, affective, and compensation strategies. This study highlights a predominant use of metacognitive strategies, comprising 36% of the strategies identified. This emphasis underscores students' commitment to higher-order thinking during the writing process and highlights the importance of metacognition in effective language learning. The distribution of cognitive, social, affective, and compensation strategies illustrates a multifaceted approach to academic writing. The findings emphasize the adaptability of EFL university students in Indonesia in addressing academic writing challenges through various strategies, thereby promoting a comprehensive learning environment. This study recommends further investigation into cultural and contextual factors influencing strategy selection, providing educators with insights for tailored instructional practices.

Abstract

This research studies the two elements and categories of sadness and happiness in the Masnavi of Jalal al-Din Rumi and compares it with some of the most thoughtful views of the past and today. Considering that Rumi recommends the audience to be happy in Masnavi and other works of his own. It is stated that Rumi has a positive attitude toward happiness and escape from sadness. Happiness is one of the positive human emotions. In different perspectives, it has been identified as a factor in achieving the ideal of knowledge and perfection. On the other hand, Rumi knows the path to God in happiness and sincerity. Among Indian mysticisms, the philosopher Ashou consider heart which has given a great deal of happiness. Freud sees the satisfaction of human instincts as the cause of happiness, and Buddha considers mind and subcategories as a source of happiness and sadness. Rumi's view of this category is regarded as a particular point of view of human experience and intuition is his person. In fact, sadness and happiness are among the most important elements of Rumi's stories. In his view, sadness and happiness are completely interior, not exterior. Therefore, human beings may be at the height of blessings, sad, and, conversely, one in the depths of extreme poverty. Rumi is a loyal and intelligent poet, and sadness from his point of view is an evolutionary development from the lowest to the highest level. According to Rumi's ideas in Masnavi, wisdom sadness must be welcomed and go on with unwise happiness that wise sadness is the path to happiness, dynamism, and mobility of the soul; it destroys many of the sadness and divine happiness s in everyday life.
